KingDash:Bros, at that age, children are prone to manipulation, their inquisitive mind can be exploited and that is why the work of any adult is to guide them, being your children or not. Even if she consented to all the acts, she is likely to to resent all at a later age and possibly pass on her hatred to all men. We have seen cases where adult ladies commit suicide or become suicidal because they were sexually exploited by their father when they were kids. At that time, they may see nothing wrong with that act but the reality sets in when they become adults. So in this case, I will not blame the 15 year old girl, rather the man and to an extent, the parents are to be blamed. |

emmykk:That is assuming the Speaker, Deputy Speaker et al did not defect as well. Whichever way, if this judgement holds, it will be a messy situation for Ebonyi state but a good omen for Nigeria going forward. |

I am not understanding. I thought Jonathan was accused of not taking the country to the promised land at $100/barrel. So we should be looking at the promised land, why the lamentation? What changed?? |
The most difficult fight you can ever pick up is to fight a man in his house. You can win the battles, but you can never win the war. |
Have a small empty water bottle in your car when you want to refuel. The first litre should go into the water bottle, look at it, smell it, if you are not sure, pay for the 1 litre and move on. |
gasparpisciotta:That is a Honda motorcycle, the CD series. See the wing logo on the fuel tank |
Let it beach first then we can answer your question in practical terms |

Xman12345goat:We will soon be reminded of the high crude oil price during Jonathan’s time |
May the curse on Amankrado not come upon Naija men this year. |
My question is, what was the price of oil during IBB, Abacha and OBJ? For how long was the >$100b/d sustained to have become an anthem of this government? Excuses for failure to perform a given task is an admission of incompetence, simple. |
So even ordinary Turkey now summons African heads of states. Who did this to us? US summons them UK summons them France summons them Russia summons them China summons them Japan summons them Saudi Arabia summons them Now Turkey summons them Then ask me, what is the gain of all these summon? Zilch! The annoying thing is that during each of these summons, the heads of states of African countries scramble to attend the so-called summit that ends up with non-implementable communiqué. And they all come back to await the next summon. WHAT A SHAME!!! |
What a shame |

What pisses me off with these men who should know better is their choice of words. I have expected someone in such a position to understand the difference between ‘win’ and ‘take over’. This of course goes a long way to show their mentality and approach to elections which is why we find ourselves in such a democratic mess. So nauseating. |
SlyDev:There is a paradigm shift ongoing in Nigeria. I once met an Arab girl in Ore who said her name is Ijeoma, said she’s based in Onitsha. Guess what, she is very fluent in the Ibo language but my friend, Chijioke has 4 kids, non of whom speaks the Ibo language. Now, is there a danger back in the East? Fact is, the world is becoming smaller in terms of reach to everybody and the traditional home is fast giving way to ‘wherever you find yourself’. Ask the Nigerian born in UK, US etc whose parents have mansions in the villages about returning home and hear what they will tell you. So when we talk about taking over Lagos, question is, taking it over to do what? I live in Lagos, my source of livelihood is in Lagos, I am not from Lagos but I will do anything to defend Lagos and so will anyone whose income comes from Lagos irrespective of tribe, region or state. |
SlyDev:Lose them to whom? If you are talking of the herdsmen/farmers issue, this will not last the next 5 years. |
SlyDev:Sir, don’t you think this is a stereotype that has festered in some people’s mind and unconsciously being accepted as a fact? Now, do you believe there were no Yorubas at the EndSars rally? And do you believe no Yoruba casualty? June12 1993, did the Yorubas display cowardice? I give credit for these divisions to our politicians and therein lies our challenge. We have to learn to deal with individuals on their ‘individualness’ rather than on their tribe. These people are inter-marrying for crying out loud, where do you place the children from such marriages. We may have our differences but let us unite to deal with the bigger issue and that to me should be our priority. |
SlyDev:Lol! We are burning nobody. Truth is, they know our weakness. As soon as the Endsars was gaining momentum and it appears the youths are coming together irrespective of ethnicity, thugs suddenly appeared to threaten the youths and eventually it was hijacked and we know the result. Question is, for how long will this continue. I know for sure that if the youths will succeed in breaking down the artificial barriers used in dividing them viz ethnicity, religion et al, that will be the great awakening and that will be the beginning of a new Nigeria. |
SlyDev:If we get it right, no one will really care where the president comes from as time goes on and the issue of ethnicity will die a natural death. All everyone want is a system that works, where your output is proportional to your input. |
I thought deeply how best to title this but every option I come up with has its shortfalls. Anyways, fact is I find what goes on different social fora amongst our youth very alarming. It appears our youths have lost focus, every issue is viewed with parochial interest, intellect is gone to the dogs. Name-calling, ethnic bashing, gender war is the order of the day and at the end of the day, how satisfaction is derived from such appalling display of childishness beats my imagination. Nigeria is currently in a mess and the future appears bleak for most of these youth but do they care? No! They are pushing for support for politicians based on ethnic considerations but they are very quick to forget these politicians are an ethnic group of their own, they look out for themselves alone and do not give a hoot if their followers die or live. Obasanjo is a Yoruba man, how did his 8 years of presidency help the lot of the average Yoruba youth? Babangida and Abdulsalam are both from Niger state but last time I visited Niger state, the only legacy of their presidency is the beautiful mansions they have for themselves with massive gates and security to shield them from the rest of the population. Jonathan is from Bayelsa state, last time I was in Bayelsa there is nothing to show this state has ever produced a President, even the iconic East-West road remained the way it was. Buhari is from Katsina state, I do not need to rehash what the average Katsina youth is going through today. Now there is a clamor for president of Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba extractions by my fellow youths but the truth is this, non of the top contenders can fix this country because the country is structurally defective! There is a fundamental problem that needs to be fixed which is where we the youths should focus our energies on. Nigeria is like a building and presidents are like paints. We are obsessed with how good or bad the paint looks but the real issue is that the building is defective. No matter how good the painting job eventually becomes, the building is still structurally defective and unfit for habitation. If we get the structure corrected, no matter how bad the paint job is, the building will still be habitable and those living in it can go to bed with their eyes closed. Trump may not be a good paint job but the Americans rested easy because they have a solid structure. So rather than spend time fighting over which tribe will produce the next president, this is the time to question the agenda of each aspirant no matter where he/she comes from. We need to force them to engage the youth on real issues and we must have our minimum expectations of the leadership we desire. We should be tired of the circus we are forced to participate in by these politicians and objectively engage as Nigerian youths. Even if we do not make the full impact we expect, a message must have been sent to the political class to tidy up their acts. Nigeria is headed in a dangerous direction, it is only her youth who will be the recipient of the decisions of today in the future that can change the direction. We need to start questioning the status quo, ethnic/tribal bashings will take us nowhere, spending valuable time comparing sexual prowess will not save us from the doom ahead. Today we take pride In announcing how lucky we are to run away from our own land to another man’s land, how will the next 10 years look like? A time may come when our new hosts will ask us to go back to whence we came from, where then will be our next anchor point? Or……have the Nigerian youth finally given up hope and chose to play the court jester in a palace where he is destined to be the ultimate kingmaker. |

Damn! Please check out the number of people silently viewing this thread. These are people asking same question in their hearts but cannot speak out for various reasons. I wish these are the types of topics we have here on Nairaland rather than all these sex tapes and yeyebrity gists. People need help and guidance in these trying times. |
