My fellow nairalanders, i got a surprise mail from the embassy today to come with my 3months travell insurance, my passport and it should be earliest before 15 sept 2016. i have not funded , i have the money as we speak but first bank has not been friendly. if he had i fit just hussle and buy from black market

Excuse me please, isnt ETS the organizers of the TOEFL and GRE? I am well aware that payment can be made via PayPal if you have an account just do it yourself instead of wasting money at a registration centre...my thoughts, paid for GRE using PayPal.

I also didnt get an email to fund my account...I was only told to do so by the lady.

@unclejudax the contact form for foreign students keeps saying 'an error occurred' so I tried the general contact form on the home page https://www.deutsche-bank.de/pfb/content/pk-service-antraege-und-formulare.html?pfb_toggle=36533-36535#layer-kontakt

click on orders and execution with detailed explanation, I explained why I wasnt using the contact form for foreign students. I got a response within an hour...maybe it is just luck i dunno...you should try it

Fellow nairalander, I am certain in the same checklist you saw " WAEC scratch card ". Proof of education is your certificate...these 3 are two different things...care to explain what exactly is wrong with it? An affidavit might do the trick...people here might be able to help...all the best

1. I don't speak or learn german . but my course is in english . how do I explain this to them during interview? hope it won't spite the Visa officer?

2. my birth certificate is from Lagos state mainland local government. I went there to request for the one from national population census but they said they can't issue that one for one born in 1993 the federal government passed a law that it has to be for those born in 1995 (except I want to do fake) can I go to the embassy with the one I have or what do I do?

3. I went for computer training can I tell the embassy this? is it to my advantage or disadvantage? my course is buss admin with informatics.

4. please, what is the specification for the passport photograph for German embassy?

1. I dunno about this but she asked if I spoke German I said No. I do not speak German...when she asked what was I doing towards my preps...then I explained I had applications on my phone that helps.

2. Just do a declaration of age and forget about this...my dad did mine for 200. I dunno how much is charged in other states. You submit the teller as the consulate as well.

3. Answer in detail what you did after graduation... at least you were not idle...computer training is general...everyone makes use of computers this shouldn't hurt.

4. 45mm by 35mm...I didn't trust the photographer so I actually measured it with a ruler. Desperate tins

Is this true? I live in Germany and I have never heard a thing like this. Maybe you should confirm from the insurance company. Health insurance is always different from travel insurance.

I dont think the form sent is for travel insurance for the initial 3 months. It is the student health insurance in Germany. Most insurance companies operate this way i.e. issuing certificate in few days. Just not too keen on not paying before hand certain schools have designated insurance companies for their students so what happens if it isnt acceptable in your institution? will the company charge you a taken or something?

to cut the long story short, I did interview on 31st March but block account funding delayed my funding till my enrolment deadline passed. I then sent an email to my school in Würzburg requesting for deferment of admission since the course is also available for winter session. They sent me a new admission letter for winter session which I immediately forwarded to the embassy bcs I was afraid my application may be rejected on the ground that I didn't provide means of sustenance.
In the email I sent to the embassy, I attached my new admission letter, and also asked them if I needed a new interview even though I have a new admission letter from same school.
Minutes letter, the embassy replied me and told me that with the new admission letter, that my application will be deferred till winter... I. Kept attempting to fund till one day in MAY my account got funded and the details sent to me by DB.... I forwarded it to the embassy at once but didn't get any reply.... After one month I sent them a message asking if they saw my DB confirmation and they replied that the document was already with them. I became more relaxed.. I took chill pill and continued my waiting game till today. Thank God the storm is over

You take the forex seller to the bank in order to certify the authenticity of the currency.

Charges depend on the bank, but roughly $25 telex + about 2% of the amount being transferred.

You can send it directly to them, no need for authentication...i got this information from facebook.

People of the German thread...I think we have had enough of this. All this back and forth insults will help noone not even the people participating. We are all here to learn and nobody is an island. For the account opening I don't think there's any need to panic esp if u have ur admission letter. Also when giving out info, give at source pls. All this panic started wt someone referring us to the new form via German embassy website. This made it look like our wonderful chinko lady changed it. But I have compared the supposedly new blocked account checklist with the old. And nothing has changed. All info is as it was. Even the visa checklist still has the old €79** figure. So nothing as per embassy has changed just that db issued a new form. More details later. But like I said I don't think u shd panic. Remember what I said earlier. Nothing is binding until. August 1. Use ya head. Now I sound like a lawyer. Lol. But use ya head

Exactly, I choose to stay on this side August 1 isn't here yet...forgotten where I read it but I remember seeing the change taking effect in Autumn....winter starts September/October. I think it makes sense. Knowing them to like processes...I don't think they 'll just decide to change overnight I.e not planning ahead.
My thoughts tho...

Does this mean that those that had done their interviews and told to fund their account 'll fund with this new amount? I thought it was supposed to take effect from the 1st of August! It is getting frustrating ooo...

You can still get the card at some places. I was presented with the paper at one cybercafe few weeks back and knowing how it should look like I refused to pay for a piece of paper knowing how dubious people can be...I asked at WAEC office at Yaba and they actually sell the card so I kept asking till I got the card from another place because the WAEC office was rowdy. You might want to check other options...about it being acceptable at the consulate I really can't say. Goodluck!

Mannheim is two years. A Nigerian lady dia got two years. We were still together last week. But as I said earlier even if d law says 2 years, d final decision is still left to d mood and caprices of d fellow u meet on sit d day u go dia. Dey interpret d law as dey like cus d law gives them d power to.

I know a lot of people still coming here are scared that how will I raise another 8k if I get a year or less. Well like I usually say don't kill ursef thinking over a problem that has not arrived. Get d one dey give u and b happy with it. Wen time for renewal comes, u will cross the bridge wen u get dia. I got 8 months and I'm still in Germany one and a half years later and by God's grace I will still be here till 2020. The more longer u stay in d system, d more u know how things work. As things stand, I now know a method anyone can use to raise up to 5k euros without hassles within 6 months that can contribute towards ur renewal. So calm down and come to Germany. Even if u got 6 months, throw a party cus u are still better than many in naija

I suppose the scanned copy was sent via email? Of course you can...if they require verification, contacts are available in the letter...Congratulations on your admission
