mekuzi09:If this investment is in the east, I do not think that there will be other ethnic group that will be richer than us. They should secretly sell many of these houses but who will buy? no northerner will have the mind to buy these things and other ethnic groups are not rich enough to buy these houses and invest largely in these areas. Igbos have made a huge mistake investing so much on real-estate in this region and it is extremely painful. |
mekuzi09:I also scared too but I need to stay and enlighten the people of the happenings that will take place in the north. I will relocate in due time. |
mekuzi09:For the people to leave the kano I know, it will take an earthquake to remove them from this place. Many of them have erected houses, plazas, churches, shops and hotels in this kano. Their total asset in the kano is in trillions, to be very sincere with you. For these people to start leaving these things behind, then you can as well tell them to die. This is a very strong information i got from many of these businessmen. |
vicadex07:Yorubas were saved in the last ile-ife clash basically because they do not want to retaliate. You guys can be easily slaughtered in the north because you leave as pocket residents in their midst and they can easily fish you out without much resistance from any of you. Igbos in Kano are better protected because they live as a community with alot of protection. |
I am going to try and pass this information to our people in Kano. They should be ready for any eventuality and not be taken by surprise like what happened in the 60s. We will try and as much as possible to convince them to start putting some of their properties to sale while they move back home and get their footing. |
The truth you have said in all entirety. The igbo group have seen a major setback in the quest for biafra due to the fact that they try as much as possible to drag everyone along. The lackadaisical attitude from the other ethnic groups have shown that the more enthusiastic igbos should chase their aspirations alone while they spend other times building bridges with igboid groups which would have yielded alot of good fruits. The agitation for Biafra, no matter how bad you think it is, is a good thing because it will look into the intricate problems bedeviling the igbo tribe and sort to give a lasting solution to it. I have been diplomatic enough to ask other people to join in the struggle but since they have seen themselves as enemies to the free state of biafra, then I conclude now that the agitation should be between igbos and their igboid brothers. We look forward to build bridges, take our time to raise a developmental fund that will cater for the incoming country. We wish well meaning igbos to get ready and reach out to their brothers and sisters that the time has come for us to forge our part and follow it with tenacity, so that will can achieve the canaan, the Lord has arranged for us. |
Did you just say kano has a population of 9million? I just dont how many people conjure figures from their heads. |
7lives:Lagos with the igr of over 300 billion with a small landmass wants more money? why are you behaving like this |
Wyttcat:How many million people are in lagos more than kano? Are trying to tell me that kano doesnt house every tribe? even yorubas are much there too. |
Ballmer:okay |
You cannot really blame the southerners for their present woes in the country because they were radically exploited before they became knowledgeable about the real dangers and wealth they face in their own community. The way the government over the years have treated has not been fair. They have not really make it easy for them to have a defined process in achieving their potentials. Why? If a particular person makes noise, they give him money or contract while the other people are deprived of quality education around the creek. If you go to the creeks, there are not schools, if you go to the different states in the south south, some of them do not have federal universities until recently. They tactically deprived them of the means to fight communally and they won multiples times. More so, the exclusion of the southern minorities from a bigger ethnic group worsened the case. The western southern minorities and the eastern minorities were taught that the igbos are their problems. So they spent their time hating us while they reaped them off their wealth. I believe many of them became wise and have had a rethink over the years except a few who are still connected to their parent's umbilical cord. |
mathy001:The truth here is that when you have seen life from.a logical light, you identify your strengths and weaknesses. The problem with the way people see Biafra is that, the supporters see it as the second coming of Christ while the haters see it as Armageddon. But I see it as a new brainchild which can use to correct the mistake of the present union we find ourselves. And a step in protecting our next generation. This is the reason why I urge people of other ethnicity that if you love your next generation and you want to protect them from the same thing bedeviling our chances at prosperity, then you should be a Biafra because Nigeria has never worked for 103years, why waste more time. |
The beauty of this coalition will not be over-emphasized. The biafra that will be birthed with the combination of the east and the southerners will be the envy of all. I know many southerners fear igbo domination but in truth, there has never been a time when igbos were domineering. A round table talk filled with intellectuals and leaders of various ethnic groups will make the difference. Because it will be where everyone will feel the sense of belonging. |
Fear is a veritable tool to keep in line and stop them from thinking independently. This thread has towed the path of fear and trying to make the igbos fear secession because they have bungalows to protect. Listen carefully, no one will touch your property except the secession came through the act of war of which i really do not want it to go that way. This is because they will need to protect their asset. Nigeria and Biafra will be member countries of ecowas, and as an ecowas citizen, then you are entitled to own business and assets in other countries without being harassed. So calm down and let the fear factor subside. |
YorubaForum:You do not need to get worked up about anything, I am a very logical minded man and I will tell you that if you say ogoni will join while annang will not join, then you are creating a problem yourself. Let everybody come and let's get Biafra. Biafra is a country and not heaven. |
A note of reality to those who are trying to equate Biafra to heaven: 1. Biafra will be a country and not paradise. The outcome of our decisions today will decide if the country will be better than what we have now or worse. 2. In Biafra, there will be sins like formication, adultery, armed robbery, heart break, corruption, etc. It depends on how you see it. Its a country of real people and not spirits, okay. 3. Igbo needs other tribes in Biafra. The many, the merrier. On a serious note, we need the sea access, we need the available market, we need the love of neighborhood and most importantly, we need the numbers. Igbo's thrive with numbers and if it goes the way it is planned, we are going to ecstatic by the number of Igbo's relocating from kano to warri and from Lagos to akwa ibom. People is money. 4. Biafra will meet some difficulties of which they will need time to solve. Yes, a new born baby will learn to crawl before walking. Do Biafra will pass through such process. The only difference is that it will not crawl on stone but crawl on a rug. So the knee will not peel. I assure, with a conglomeration of positive minded people who are looking for a better life, it story will always turn out better. 5. Biafra is not for you and I. Yes, this is the painful truth. The enjoyment that will come for Biafra will be fully enjoyed by our kids why you and I will work to make it better. Ours is to do the work when its fully actualized, they will just copy our template and live life to the fullest. In all, when Biafra comes, it is going to be a reward of hardwork and no shortcuts. |
caleboxylic:Sometimes you all think Biafra is heaven instead of a new country. If you start choosing ppl that you want to share a country with, who will draw the boundary demarcation for you? Nnamdi KANU? I believe the only open minded ppl in this struggle are the ppl on top but the followers are killing it based on over patriotism. |
Amarabae:Young lady, when someone adds your name to a group on Feb without sending you a formal invite, are you happy or are you vexed? |
laudate:A point raised is meant to be countered with a superior point which makes the former invalid by the postulator. Saying a particular line of thought is hogwash or zeroed down to school kids is you not engaging in the argument but committing a fallacy of ad baculum. I believe when you are inquired to come have a table talk about the future of your people, keeping in mind the reality of our today, you will still dish out this same argument. Right? |
ahaika23:The people who you argue with here are not the decision making people so they tend to be more emotional and retaliatory when it comes to arguments concerning their people. Its a sign of patriotism. I know that the southerners will and must come to the table to table their demands which will be debated on before we agree on a particular premise. The day will soon come. |
laudate:Laudate, I am not a nairaland personality who you guys argue with irritating words. If you cannot have any logical argument, then I believe we are done here. |
Please listen, the north over 300years ago were different people. They spoke different languages and they had different ideologies. Though not too different but they were not under the same head. Kano people were different from Zaria people, even those in Daura were also different. It was until Usman Dan fodio conquered the communities and gave them a sense of oneness which is the religion Islam. They rallied round through that religion and bowed down to the sultan in sokoto. What am I trying to say? The ethnic nationalities living around the shores of the river Niger might have different cultures but once upon a time they have met and they have not killed themselves until the whites and later Nigeria came into play. Why? When these people and union came around, they were shrunk within a state where their freedom were reduced to little. It was now a game of survival of the fittest. That was why in the beginning, there was a lot of fight between urhobo/ ijaws, oron, efik and annang people. They was power tussle. If these people were a state of their own and have control of their leadership, they wouldn't have been fighting. In Biafra, of which I believe is one opportunity if blown out of proportion will give member ethnic group the capacity to forge their path. A path which many of them have forgotten or rather lost. In Biafra, they have the opportunity to sit on the table and say "this is what we want". In Biafra, they have a lot to gain because the truckload of activities on the sea will be transferred to their shores I.e having what Lagos is enjoying in their backyard. They will have Igbo's paying for import tax and other revenues. They will simply be richer and more people will have access to wealth. Christianity which is a binding factor in many tribes around the Niger, will in no little way douse many flames of tribals fights that may arise because of its preaching of peace. In Biafra, you are dealing with 30-40/million Igbo's. In Nigeria, you are dealing with 80million Hausa's. If you are good with chemistry, you will know the difference between the concentration of minorities in Biafra is more relevant or seen than in Nigeria. Do not kid yourself, Biafra will not be easy but I assure you, it will be better. |
laudate:It is you who is seeing the inconsistency. A united south has more influence than the east in Biafra. A united south has no influence against the north talkless of the west in Nigeria. You can debate that all you want. An urhobo tribe will be well known, better represented in Biafra than Nigeria. You debate that all you want. Urhobo and other southern minorities have for once in history to negotiate their individual existence before agreeing to be part of a union. If they do not agree, then they opt to stay back with the country. It is something that you must do and you will not shy away from it. Negotiations must be in place because everyone will be starting from the beginning. It is a big task, but it is worth trying. |
mathy001:The igboid groups will join the Biafra. Their affinity is closer towards the east than any other place because if they do not, the risk been over-marginalized by the other groups. In the case of other southerners, it is an advice and I urge you to do it. We will need to sit down and have an agreement whereby anyone in Ogoja will not feel.less of him or herself when they join Biafra. Your leaders will be there and they will list what they want. The major thing I know the southerners want is the ability to control their resources and if given the opportunity, then there will be no problem coming from any axis. |

When will our people learn? From Jos riot of the 1920 down to Kaduna killings, yet we still don't want to accept the fact that Northern region is not home to Indi'gbos. Why would a sane man go to hostile region and start setting up edifice? Are you mad. Igbos in the North, you guys are fool if you are caught in the web of events again. Start coming back home as soon as possible.
