I think this is a good development. Let them take all the gays from Nigeria and let naija be gay-free. Problem has changed hands. Our prisons are full enough and people are tired of lynching them already.

Politics / Re: Nigeria Warns India Of "Repercussions" Over Goa Face-Off by devour129: 9:21am On Nov 08, 2013
collynzo2: What a gimp! The UK has a land mass equal to just that of the Niger delta part of Nigeria alone, the UK has a total population that is just one-third of that of Nigeria, yet they have close to 2 million Indians. We all know that the UK is far more economically attractive for the Indians, but the immigration policy there is also far tighter than that of Nigeria. If the UK with a much smaller land mass and total population coupled with a tighter immigration policy than those of Nigeria can boast of about 2 million Indians, how is it so far fetched to have 800 thousand Indians in Nigeria? Also saying that we have to see Indians roaming the streets everyday if there are truly 800 000 of them here is the most demented statement I've ever seen on Nairaland - and I've seen a lot!
so true. if you want to know how many they are in Abuja,co0me for there Diwali ish tomorrow. will find out the venue and post it. went for last year own at hilton and was amazed the no of them in Abuja, def going to boycott this years own. and before you start saying they wont miss me YES THEY WILL,the ticket is for 7k and there people come in free so they can only get money from us

whitecat007: Indian goverment hands out free certificates to his people to get out the country cos of their population. So any Indian that says he/she schooled in India is a danger to the community cos an Indian can show up at a job recruitment to ask what field they ate hiring for and goes home to bring any certification required from the stash in his closets. Some of them do go to school and are kept back in India while they export their fake expert to stuppid countries

Family / Re: Why Is Divorce Not An Option For Most Nigerian Women? by devour129: 8:02am On Nov 08, 2013
We are our worst enemy ! By the way what have our female law makers and women in power these past years been doing ? Cos we could have passed a law years ago to stop this. Also a law should be made to protect a woman financially if she has been married to a guy or lived with him for a certain no of years. That way everyone sits up.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Chinese Man Sues Wife For Ugly Children! by devour129: 1:59pm On Nov 07, 2013
Dagoma: The man is very right because he was deceived by the woman due to her artificial beauty. She would have told him how she was and showed him her previous photos before the engagement.
guys should declare there own. had a friend that found out the father in law was a dwarf few months to their trad ,she was so much in love and was in a mess. the guy told her its recessive .i know for sure she will never forgive the guy. if everyone declares things will be bad for some people o
Politics / Re: Governor Chime Denies Detaining His Wife by devour129: 11:04am On Nov 07, 2013
Candour: My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Chime. I cant even begin to imagine what she's has gone through or still going through.

Gov Chime is trying to do what we all do instinctively when faced with embarrassing situations and that is protect the family name and 'reputation' more so as he's a political leader in a country where honesty and integrity are in short supply. Very few of us can be honest over issues that will make others laugh and poke fun at us. It's obvious the woman has mental issues. maybe the issues were inflicted by her husband or natural happenstance, what is very clear is that she's not well.

Any husband would want to protect and help his wife get treated but i think hiding her in the government house in the name of protecting the family name and reputation wont help. If he truly loves her, he should move her to where she can get the best medical attention. He should damn the sneers of people and help his wife get well except of course he's benefiting one way or another from the situation.

A typical politician will sacrifice a spouse or family member on the altar of political expediency. I truly hope and pray Gov Chime will dare to be different. His wife's health should come first before any political considerations.

Dear Mrs Clara Chime, i wish you speedy recovery. Pls get well soon.

However well you may be treating them, you are breaking the law by employing underage children.
The responsible and civic thing to do would be to adopt them as your wards, not keep them as employees. undecided

We all want a greater Nigeria, but in our private lives, we ridicule its laws consistently undecided
have never employed under aged person, that I want to send them to school doesn't mean they are kids.i want to send them to school cos I feel they didn't have the opportunity n I have got the means

I like your initiative.
I guess all you need to do is offer them the choice of an education, it is up to them to accept.
my dear I try my best. My sisters n friends berate me on how I treat my girls, they feel I spoil them n to an extent is true.if you see them you won't believe they are house girls but that doesn't me I don't discipline them.whatever I can do to my kids I do to my house helps so if you keep body cos I shout for u I go show you door.

Am an educationist so av always had this principle that everyone around me must be educated both house helps and even down to driver. You won't believe how much I have spent in trying to make house girl get a good education,I even go as far as private lesson when they are not doing well but they end up running away.this kept on happening until my mum adviced me to ask then what they want instead of imposing my you must go to school rules and since then my house helps stay longer. Point is most dont want to go to school, they prefer being paid and learning a trade than going to school. The best I do is help open and account for them, get them ATM n teach them how to use it,I also teach them while teaching my kids.
