wirinet: There is nothing epic about it. He failed to address why INEC refused to use BVAS and IReV, which Nigerians had invested a lot of trust, emotions and money on.
Nigerians historically have a high degree of distrust for the ruling party and INEC. Simply uploading the results from the wards as contained in the electoral act would have saved all these excuses and conjectures. Well said. I am taking dis from anoda angle. |

Yamiriflathead:
Although disappointing Tinubu tried to hold Lagos with the figures he pulled so far. Lagos is the Capital of Southern Nigeria, so what were you expecting? This was a fight between ibos+SS+woke yorubas against Tinubu supporters in Lagos who are mainly yorubas and maybe Hausas in Lagos.
I hope Tinubu and yorubas have learnt a bitter lesson from Lagos Elections not to befriend and feed a cub because it is homeless, hopeless, and dying. It will grow up and eat u up someday.
I'm happy yorubas can now sit down and ask qtns as to how they got everything wrong and redress it with BAT as President.
The take home from this defeat is..
Yorubas need to stop drafting non yorubas into the civil service and stop giving them prominent appointments. There are always technocrats who can always fit into any political office from the SW
Yorubas need to stop selling their lands to non yorubas in Lagos and SW
Yorubas need to stop giving out local government of origins to non yorubas in Lagos
Yorubas need to stop allowing non-yorubas contest for Elections in Lagos or SW
Yorubas need limit the numbers of voters registration of non yorubas going on in Lagos, they care so much about Lagos and don't care if their homes rot, Henceforth let them go home and vote. They can't come and dictate to you on how to govern urselves after creating an enabling environment for them to thrive.
Contain them politically, Period!
Congratulations to the incoming President of Nigeria BAT the ASIWAJU of Lagos for winning the most Free and fair Elections since our Nascent Democracy nothwitstanding Wow!! How I wish dis comment should be proposed to d authorities in Lagos so that some issues could be redressed politically. Some act of goodwill are usually abused & taken for granted at d long run. This comment is what d authorities in Lagos needed to put into action before things actually get out of hand politically in d future. Is there anyway u can push dis forward sir?? By d way, claiming that Lagos is No Man's Land is d statement I usually detest from our brothers; I mean, how can tenants decide to drag d ownership of a property with d rightful landlord/owner?? |

rxmusa: Election Updates...
1. Peter Obi wins "Tinubu's" Lagos. But you are still saying INEC is rigging for Tinubu just so that when Tinubu wins Katsina, you will say it was rigged.
Oh wait. Atiku won Katsina, Buhari's State.
So really how many persons do you want to accuse INEC of rigging for? Why not accept where your candidate lose?
2. So Obi can win Lagos, it is not rigging. But Amoda Ogunlere cannot win Osun that you said he is from, it is rigging.
Oh wait. Tinubu did not even win Osun. Atiku did. So what are you saying please? You thought Obi will win Osun??
3. Obi went to Kano and went straight to Sabon Gari where you have Igbos and minority Christians.
That is the divisive campaign Obi ran yet you will shout rigging if Tinubu wins Kano.
Oh wait. It is Kwankwaso that is winning Kano despite being an enemy of the sitting APC Governor!
Again, what are you saying
4. In the South East where Obi is from, Obi is winning by 90%
In the South West where Tinubu is from, Obi has won Lagos, Atiku took Osun. But when Tinubu takes Ekiti, it is rigging.
What is wrong with you guys?
5. Obi is winning in Edo State. If you add PDP and APC votes and times it by 2, Obi is still winning. This is a State where there is a PDP Governor and a Former APC National Chairman.
But it is rigging anywhere Obi is not winning. How can a people be this bigoted?
6. I have read, on WhatsApp, people saying they will poison food and give to Northerners for not voting Obi.
I have read people here saying they will never give a Northern beggar any money for not voting Obi.
Meanwhile Obi is clearing the South South and South East and Northerners are not threatening anyone. And you will call them uncivilized?
7. An unknown Labour party candidate for House of Rep, defeated the APC and PDP to win Etin-Osa Fed. Constituency in Lagos.
The APC guy was Obanikoro's son. The PDP guy was Banky W the musician. Both floored by a Labour party candidate people didn't know.
But the election was rigged is coming from the mouth of Labour party supporters.
8. Another unknown Labour party candidate defeated the APC and PDP in the major Senatorial Election in Edo.
The gap was almost 200%. If you add the PDP and APC votes together, the unknown Labour candidate still beat them with over 50k votes and these were not small candidates. They are the two most influential people in Benin!
But Labour Party supporters are still shouting rigging, failed election. Does this make sense
9. Obi is heading to 500,000 votes in Enugu. Whereas Tinubu has less than 5,000 votes in the whole Enugu.
This is not rigged, but wherever Tinubu wins is rigged.
10. Atiku's VP is the GOVERNOR of Delta State.
In Delta State, Obi has won 11 out of the 16 Local Government Areas annoinced so far.
But his supporters are still shouting the election is rigged. Is that not madness?
NB: If you cause the war you are using to bully everyone we will all suffer it. Pat Utomi that is encouraging you will carry his oyinbo face and seek asylum somewhere in America or Europe where he will collect cool breeze and return after your demise to claim hero of democracy. Use sense. Eseoghene Faruq This is Epic. |

DeLaRue: All the powers of the President derive from and are provided for by the constitution.
That means all the actions of the President must comply with the constitution and the laws passed by the National Assembly.
So, the current issue is a constitutional issue, which only the Supreme Court can decide. It has to decide whether the President acted within the powers conferred on him by the constitution and laws.
The reason a country has a supreme court (and indeed other courts) is to ensure that the Executive ie., the President, Governors, Ministers etc do not misuse their powers against us, the people.
There is a reason Mr Buhari cannot issue an Executive Order for you to be arrested. That's because the constitution does not give him the power to misuse his orders like that.
Without courts like the Supreme Court, most Presidents would become dictators.
The people must guard the supreme court's authority jealously and not allow any President destroy it for their own personal interest. Here is d most sensible comment so far |

Hopium:
Jungle don dey mature small small.
When they were making noise about how Buhari is punishing Tinubu to stop him from buying vote, they didn't think in this direction. They were suffering the cash and fuel scarcity in real life, but will come online to rejoice because Tinubu is going to lose the election. That delusional satisfaction and pending reward far outweigh the suffering, depression, and hunger waving across the nation. In their small and feeble mind, the pain and anguish they themselves are experiencing (including their parents in the village, their neighbors, loved ones, friends, and colleagues) is worth it so far Obi is coasting to victory.
Jungle don dey mature.
Only a naïve and inexperience mind - that doesn't know how the real world works - would think a person like Asiwaju can't access the new notes for vote buying. When people say Obi followers are dense, they're right. Very right. The mystery is that majority of his fan base are schooled but seeing how they think would make you pity the hard earned money their parents wasted sending them to school.
To every dull obidient out there who still think the naira scarcity is working in the favour of their principal, get it into your skull that aside the relative ease politicians now have to buy votes on the 25th, the apex danger of all is the possibility of the election not holding and an interim government being installed. Asiwaju tried to redirect your minds towards the things that matter, but you called him all sort of names.
INEC is already complaining of cash scarcity. What happens if they can't get cash to mobilize their ad-hoc staff? I've read some mumu takes today about how INEC doesn't need cash to carry out their responsibility. Many people need to get their brain checked. I fear for the future of this country. We have so many illiterates who only went to school but failed to be educated. Full adults in their 50s, 40s, 30s who doesn't how the world works; have no clue about the nation's electoral process; zero clue about national politics; people who have substituted social media raves with critical thinking. These are people who have passed on their genes or getting prepared to.
I'm not doomposting nor praying for this to happen: The supreme court judgement only put Nigerians into more confusion. The CBN has rendered old notes illegal, banks are rejecting it, filling stations are rejecting it, people have started to reject too. BUT there's no new cash in circulation. Nigerians are in a limbo with no where to face. The commander-in-chief is silent. CBN is not obeying court orders.
From now until election, we will see many protests and riots. I don't see how this election won't be postponed. I don't. And when this happen, print it in your brain that Jagaban is not your enemy. He voiced out, warned us of impending dangers, even gave the CBN solution.
Your enemy is Buhari and by some extension Emefiele (that one will end up in jail one way or the other). May God replenish ur wisdom for this piece. It now appears that many people supporting the poor implementation of dis policy are either too wicked & selfish, or maybe they really don't understood d implications of what dis naira scarcity issue might cause at d long run. The issue on ground now is beyond attaching it to favor a candidate or affect d other. People are really suffering & passing through a lot in regards to this scarcity. Only God knows what would happen in d coming days if d president don't step in to address d issue. |

SmartPolician: Are you an INEC staffer? Stop quoting me if you are not because e-channels can do almost everything cash transactions do.
The last time I checked, NYSC doesn't pay corpers using cash. Besides, CBN has branches in all the 36 states and the FCT. They kicked off Cash Swap program that targets unbanked Nigerians in rural communities. Those corps members should access cash through that channel, if they really need cash.
Unless the CBN drops this policy, everyone must embrace it. Cashless payments have more benefits than carrying cash about. Our problem is that we are obsessed with cash payments, and we are struggling to come to terms with the new normal. What do u have to say about d rural communities that are without stable or no network? Sometimes we need to reason far beyond our comfort zone. Nigeria's locations don't end in d urban & cities. And by d way, d kind of network we have in naija is not yet ripe to depend on it for going cashless. |

Mires: This reminds me of one Sunday service at then Rhema Chapel Agbowo, now Rhema Chapel Bodija, when a visiting pastor from Lagos in his sermon said one of the miracles heaven still renders to his faithful children is crediting their accounts from unknown source like it happened to him and he withdrew it and cleared his debts because he prayed to heaven that his debts must not accompanied him into the new year.
According to him, few hours to the glorious entry of a new year on the 31st of December the year it happened, heaven answered his call and he got a credit alert from GTB headquarter which is unusual. He went on, a lot of people have returned (transferred) such heavenly blessings to bank staff and owners because of their ignorance. According to him, immediately, he saw the credit alert, he notified his wife who is a banker and she advised him against withdrawing the money. That it could be mistake. He went, on, that he ignored the wife because she didn't understand the mystery surrounding heavenly blessings.. He entered his car and used ATM and withdraw part of the money and cleared his debt that night. Years after that action, no one or bank has called him that money was mistakenly sent into his account.
Understanding Holy Bible, one needs holy spirit. Here is d best comment so far. God has many ways of answering our prayers for Divine Interventions.
