Have you heard the word protestant? When the people discovered that some practices that were unchristian was entering the roman catholic church, they spoke vehemently against it, the Pope met the resistant by ordering the barbaric inquisitions. I want to tell you that though a church so named carried out such a wicked act, the bible never taught that as a standard. It was a war between saving true bible teachings and following the teachings of men who replaced christian teachings with their own idea. But thank God! they did not succeed.

Islam is a non prophet religious system. One of the first issues we must deal with is Mohammed himself. Mohammed claimed to be a prophet, a warner of the idol worshipers in his time. At the same time he claimed that he was the last of the prophets which included Moses, Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, David, and Jesus. If Mohammed claimed only to be a prophet without regard to those before him, there would be less of a problem in evaluating him. But as long as he claimed to be in this particular prophetic tradition, we must look at some of the problems with this claim.
First, prophets in the Old Testament always called the Israelite people back to the Law and the Covenant. This was the major theme and calling of the prophets. Read any prophetic book of the Old Testament and one will find this theme, calling a rebellious people back to the worship of Yahweh, the Creator and Redeemer. Mohammed does not fit the mold. He does not call people back to the law and covenant that God had established, but he has a message that in effect replaces the old revelation with his own. The earlier revelation is seen as important only as far as it can serve to support or authenticate his own by the claim that it is in agreement with what came before.
Second, the prophets themselves did not take vengeance on the people. When one reads Jeremiah, Isaiah, or Amos, there is the prophetic word that Yahweh will bring judgment on the disbelieving people. Jeremiah proclaimed that Babylon was the instrument of God to chastise the Israelites. Jeremiah did not recruit a private army to bring his own judgment. However, Mohammed did. In contrast to him, there is in the message of the Biblical prophets no jihad against unbelieving people in general. Nothing is said about a jihad against the Egyptians, the Babylonians, the Greeks, or anyone else.
Third, the prophets of the Old Testament lived with rejection, slander, persecution, and even death. No prophet attempted to defend himself. In contrast, Mohammed could not tolerate rejection. He did not permit adversaries. This was true in regard to individual people as well as large groups. An example of the individual rejection concerns a Jew by the name of Ka’b Ibn Al-Ashraf who wrote sarcastic poems about Mohammed. Mohammed one day asked, "Who will deliver me from Ka’b?" Five men, including Mohammed Ibn Maslama, laid a trap for Ka’b. They coaxed him out of his house, cut off his head, and brought it to Mohammed with the worshipful cry, "Allah is great!" and Mohammed agreed with them.[1]
But more serious is the case of the Jews in Medina and other surrounding towns. In the year 7 of Mohammed’s regime, a campaign was carried on against the Jews in Khaibar. In Medina Mohammed dealt most severely with the Jews who opposed him. The Jews ridiculed his understanding of the Old Testament and to them it was obvious that he knew little of it, although he has a passage in the Qur’an that the Old Testament was to be read and honored.[2] The first episode was against a Jewish tribe by the name of Banu Kainuka. A Jew played a prank on a married Arab woman by fastening the skirt of her dress to her shoulder. The Jew was killed by a Muslim, and the murdering Muslim was then killed by the Jews. After that the Jews were locked in their quarters by Mohammed. They were forced to surrender all their possessions to him, and then were allowed to move to Syria.
The men of the tribe, Banu Karaiza, were not as fortunate. They had not supported Mohammed during the Meccan siege of Medina. The judgment against this tribe was that all the men of the tribe were to be put to death, and all the women and children were to be sold into slavery. There were over 600 men massacred in this vengeance. Andrae says about this slaying and its commentary on Mohammed’s personality, "One must see Mohammed’s cruelty toward the Jews against the background of the fact that their scorn and rejection was the greatest disappointment of his life, and for a time they threatened completely to destroy his prophetic authority."[3]
Mohammed was criticized by the Jews and the Meccans for not producing miracles as it was acknowledged that many prophets had. He claimed that the Qur’an was his miracle. Since the Qur’an commands that people look to the existing Scriptures in that time, the Old and New Testaments, we have some rather startling contrasts to make between Mohammed being a prophet and what we find in the Old Testament about the legitimacy of a prophet. Consider a passage often quoted by Muslims in support of Mohammed as a prophet. Deuteronomy 18:15 declares that God would raise up a prophet like Moses "from among you, from your brethren." This prophecy is restricted to the Jews in the first place, but the passage continues with the comment of Moses, "and if you say in your heart, ‘how may we know the word which the Lord has spoken?’ When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word which the Lord has not spoken, the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you need not be afraid of him."

Im really proud being a muslim and im enthusiastic learning the perfect religion which teaches me how to live a perfect life.Alhamdulillahi tahala.Being a muslim is not enough but indeed a mumin,that strive to acheive the requirement of a mumin.May allah bestow his mercy on us so that we shall be a practicing muslim till death.Amin.

To attain perfection you have to live without sin! Does Islam teach hatred for sin and love of righteousness? What is sin to a Moslem? Does sin includes killing Christians in the name of God? Does it include hating Jesus whom you say is in your Quran? Have you ever tried to find out what Prophet Issa (Jesus) taught when he was in the earth? Where will you find his teaching? You need to find out what he said when he came to this world since the Quran said he was a Spirit ( RUHULLAH) from God.

Thank you for all the post on the thread, but you did not address the substance of my bewilderment. How is it that the prophet said the small group should greet the large group? What if the small group were elderly people? How come allah loves sneezing and hates yawning? why should another man lick my hand after a meal? what sort of doctrine is the prophet teaching? Why is it that the prophet taught his people to lie ?

Mary's age when she had Jesus was never mentioned in any christian manuscript, may be it's in those books written by Islamic scholars.

I think you also need to revaluate your thinking. Can you explain why there are still chritians (whose linage have been christians from time immemorial)  in many islamic nations today. If Islam was, in your thinking, asking muslims to wipe out every other person that is not a muslim, how come there are such christians in those muslims nations today. They should have been wiped out many centuries ago when Islam started spreading.

They have taken as lords beside Allah their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah son of Mary, when they were bidden to worship only One Allah. There is no Allah save Him. Be He Glorified from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)!

Fain would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah disdaineth (aught) save that He shall perfect His light, however much the disbelievers are averse.

You need to evaluate Islam as a whole. How could your religion ask you to wipe out every other person that is not of your faith? Don't you think that is what is responsible for most of the violence all over the world today? Islam was designed to keep people from the one true way-CHRIST. May God show you the truth.

Kindly excuse my ignorance of high science as demonstrated by members of the forum most especially those coming from athiestic background. The current scientific endeavour is Totalitarian in nature. Traditional science did not limit itself to radical empiricism i.e all knowledge been derived by the senses. Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz establishes the centrality of God to science. According to Leibniz, the proximate origins of "magnitude, figure, and motion," which constitute the "primary qualities" of corporeal bodies, "cannot be found in the essence of the body". I will like to point out the limitation of science by quoting Linda de Hoyos.

"The problem arises when the scientist asks why the body fills this space and not another; for example, why it should be three feet long rather than two, or square rather than round. This cannot be explained by the nature of the bodies themselves, since the matter is indeterminate as to any definite figure, whether square or round. For the scientist who refuses to resort to an incorporeal cause, there can be only two answers. Either the body has been this way since eternity, or it has been made square by the impact of another body. "Eternity" is no answer, since the body could have been round for eternity also. If the answer is "the impact of another body," there remains the question of why it should have had any determinate figure before such motion acted upon it. This question can then be asked again and again, backwards to infinity. Therefore, it appears that the reason for a certain figure and magnitude in bodies can never be found in the nature of these bodies themselves. "

SCIENCE SHOULD EXPLAIN HOW THE DOGONS OF MALI WERE ABLE TO STUDY THE STAR SIRIUS WITHOUT MODERN SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS? SURELY SCIENCE HAS AN OCCULTIC ROOT.

Christians refused to accept Mohammed because his teachings are not in line with those of Jesus. Whereas, Jesus before his death spoke of a false prophet that will decieve many. Of course, Muslims don't believe not to talk of following the wonderful teachings of Jesus courtesy of Mohammed.

He never lied, never broke a trust never bore false witness, and he was famous with all the tribes in Makkah and was known as: "The Truthful" (Al-Ameen).

You claimed he never told a lie nor broke a trust? Did you remember the story of one of his followers that want to kill a man who according to Mohammed “offended god and allah’s apostle”? The man came to Mohammed and told him that he needed to tell a lie to kill Malama, your “noble” prophet told him to go ahead and tell the lie!
here is the scripture.
BUKHARI VOLUME 5, No. 369
"Narrated Jabir Abdullah: "Allah's messenger said "Who is willing to kill Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His apostle?" Thereupon Maslama got up saying, "O Allah's messenger! Would you like that I kill him?" The prophet said, "Yes". Maslama said, "Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Ka'b). The prophet said, [size=14pt]"You may say it."[/size]

Maslama went to Ka'b and said, "That man (i.e. Muhammad) demands Sadaqa (i.e. Zakat) [taxes] from us, and he has troubled us, and I have come to borrow something from you." On that, Ka'b said, "By Allah, you will get tired of him!" Maslama said, "Now as we have followed him, we do not want to leave him unless and until we see how his end is going to be. Now we want you to lend us a camel load or two of food." Ka'b said, "Yes, but you should mortgage something to me." Maslama and his companion said, What do you want?" Ka'b replied, "Mortgage your women to me." They said, "How can we mortgage our women to you and you are the most handsome of the Arabs?" Ka'b said, "Then mortgage your sons to me." They said, "How can we mortgage our sons to you? Later they would be abused by the people's saying that so and so has been mortgaged for a camel load of food. That would cause us great disgrace, but we will mortgage our arms to you."

Maslama and his companion promised Ka'b that Maslama would return to him. He came to Ka'b at night along with Ka'b's foster brother, Abu Naila. Ka'b invited them to come into his fort and then he went down to them. His wife asked him, "Where are you going at this time?" Ka'b replied, None but Maslama and my (foster) brother Abu Naila have come." His wife said, "I hear a voice as if blood is dropping from him." Ka'b said, "They are none by my brother Maslama and my foster brother Abu Naila. A generous man should respond to a call at night even if invited to be killed.

Maslama went with two men. So Maslama went in together with two men, and said to them, "When Ka'b comes, I will touch his hair and smell it, and when you see that I have got hold of his head, strike him. I will let you smell his head."

Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf came down to them wrapped in his clothes, and diffusing perfume. Maslama said, "I have never smelt a better scent than this." Ka'b replied, "I have got the best Arab women who know how to use the high class of perfume." Maslama requested Ka'b "Will you allow me to smell your head?" Ka'b said "yes." Maslama smelt it and made his companions smell it as well. Then he requested Ka'b again, "Will you let me (smell your head)?" Ka'b said "Yes". When Maslama got a strong hold of him, he said (to his companions) "Get at him!" So they killed him and went to the prophet and informed him."

Note that Muhammad allowed Maslama to lie to draw Ka'b out of his home to murder him.
On trust, Mohemmed daisd if he enters into an oath with someone  and later did not like the oath, he will dishonor it. Unlike in the bible where the Israelites where not permitted to fight a tribe that their fore-fathers had a covennt with.

Sahih Bukhari 7:67:427
Narrated Zahdam:
We were in the company of Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari and there were friendly relations between us and this tribe of Jarm. Abu Musa was presented with a dish containing chicken. Among the people there was sitting a red-faced man who did not come near the food. Abu Musa said (to him), "Come on (and eat), for I have seen Allah's Apostle eating of it (i.e. chicken)." He said, "I have seen it eating something (dirty) and since then I have disliked it, and have taken an oath that I shall not eat it ' Abu Musa said, "Come on, I will tell you (or narrate to you). Once I went to Allah s Apostle with a group of Al-Ash'ariyin, and met him while he was angry, distributing some camels of Rakat. We asked for mounts but he took an oath that he would not give us any mounts, and added, 'I have nothing to mount you on' In the meantime some camels of booty were brought to Allah's Apostle and he asked twice, 'Where are Al-Ash'ariyin?" So he gave us five white camels with big humps. We stayed for a short while (after we had covered a little distance), and then I said to my companions, "Allah's Apostle has forgotten his oath. By Allah, if we do not remind Allah's Apostle of his oath, we will never be successful." So we returned to the Prophet and said, "O Allah's Apostle! We asked you for mounts, but you took an oath that you would not give us any mounts; we think that you have forgotten your oath.' He said, 'It is Allah Who has given you mounts. By Allah, and Allah willing, if I take an oath and later find something else better than that. then I do what is better and expiate my oath.' "

I understand what the OP meant by him been a Bsc holder and not an OND holder. In the banking industry, the Annual salary of an entry level staff (Bsc/HND) in most banks averages N1.5m while OND may earn around N400,000 p/a.

In essence, he was trying to show that the fact that he is a graduate did not stop the bank from treating them in such a way. Economic recession with Sanusinomics is threatening the entire banking system.

Robbing a bank is wrong right, a man having intimacy with a fellow man is morally wrong too, in fact, the law does not support it, that is why governments around the world are modifying the constitution to accommodate the sudden debasement of the human mind manifesting itself as bestiality(of course they will start clamouring for support too), sexual perversions(homo habilis, nay homosexualism,  loss of decency, in fact, de-civilzation  etc.

If two consenting adults decide to rob a bank, it's Ok by your argument. Listen, male's anatomy does not have a place where a fellow man can have intimacy with him! Even, beginners in biology can tell you that the male organ is meant for the female not for goats, dogs, etc
