The ka'aba is a house of God built/rebuilt by Abraham and Ishmael. The spread the word of God to the arabs in their time. However as centuries passed by the arabs mixed idol worship with their faith. It is not totally good but for a matured christian it is ok. I have a site where I read it. It is has no inspiration at all i.e it is empty. You will never understand it without the hadiths and the commentaries. It is more or less like a poem that tickles the Arabic ears.

The religion of Meccans Muhammed introduced Islam is not fundamentally different. The Kabbah was original built by the pagans. The black stone that muslims kiss duing Hajj was kissed by the pagans too. The pagans run round the Kabbah too just as Mulims do today. The only major difference is that ALL THE ABOUT 350 IDOLS WHERE REMOVED LEAVING OUT allah and thus declared to be the only true god instead of the Jews Allah(Jehovah).
