A female member of the National Youth Service Corp serving in Bayelsa, Miss Folakemi Akinbode was attacked, on Monday, by suspected cultists who chopped off her hand.

The incident occurred, at about 8.30pm, at Obunagha community in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.

The 26-year-old Folakemi Akinbode is now struggling for her life at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri.

Miss Akinbode, an indigene of Ondo state and graduate Nurse from the Madonna University, Elele, Rivers State, was attacked on her way from work at a lonely bush path leading to the corpers’ lodge where she resides.

But for the hand which she raised in defense of herself, she would have been dead as reports say that the machete was aimed for head.

The victim was said to have ran to the lodge with her injuries shouting “help, help, help…” after which she collapsed and lost consciousness due to excessive bleeding from the almost severed hand.
Her assailants are still at large
Troubled by the development, the traditional ruler of the community, Chief Apoh Godgive, the Ibolou XI, was said to have ordered the immediate setting up of vigilante group in the community with a view to fishing out the perpetrators of the crime.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alex Akhigbe, confirmed the incident when contacted. He said though no arrests have been made, security operatives have been deployed to track down the attackers

In this Channels Television report, the woman denied selling the child. She said she only gave the child out to someone who will take better care of him. She accused her daughter of neglecting the child.

It might not work on dolphin browser o, it will work on chrome sha. But if u've updated ur OS to Jellybean, "boat browser" might be ur only option.
