FamilyRe: Name A Parenting Trait From Your Parents You Would Never Emulate by Dfavouredone:
Some times also our parents are themselves a product of improper upbringing and have their own emotional and situational battles. We should sometimes bear with them and try to understand their short coming.

My parents try I nor go lie. May dad was a taxi driver and was a jolly good fellow. He will always buy suya when coming back home from work by around 11pm. Then if you sleep before papa come back from work, na your luck be that, u don miss suya. The rule among we siblings is no waking of anybody wey sleep cheesy. Sometimes my mum go forget go wake person, we go vex for her. It was fun. That was around 1992. But i lost my easy going dad in 1995 to road accident. cry cry

My mum became the bread winner of our home taking care of me and my six siblings. Na wetin my papa brothers do, i nor go ever do for my life. Dem come carry all my papa property and abandoned us the children for my mum. But God love us and my mum na strong woman with love for God. She hustle take care of us go school.

Growing up with no father figure, i wan be lose guard dey join area boys. My mother begin cry, wake me for night dey advise me. I come call myself to advise say why i dey lose guard like this, this woman want my good and i better behave. From then on I change my ways, my mum was very happy and proud. I come serious for church become teens president, dem pass my exam without problem and gain admission. My mum treat me like egg. She go rather make mosquitoes come bite her than make the mosquitoes bite me. Pet me like small pikin. I love her to pieces. People dey call me her husband because I be the first son as well. When i came back from NYSC after graduation, she wan come carry bucket of water go bathroom for me to take bath. I just rush am say, momsy stop stop, i can do that myself na. She wan kill me with love and petting. But she is no longer with us on earth as she went to be with the Lord in 2016. But the training and education she had given me is sustaining me and only God know why he calls her and I still blessed God for everything. She is my idol and role model. kiss kiss

I will pamper my children the way my mum pamper me while still instilling crucial life lessons in them like hard work and discipline.

Let me chip in here sassy sure

I understand the point you're trying to drive home but I'd say this approach isn't the best to use on someone in his position.

We preach forgiveness so easily, but in reality, it's difficult to do, especially in a case like his. It's easy to let go and purge when there's remorse from the abusers, but this is clearly not so with him. His folks do not acknowledge they abused him and his feelings too are not validated. It's as if he's just out to make trouble while they go around, acting like nothing happened.

I've been there...the pain is indescribable. People who should be your allies, turn around and gang up against you because they are older. Making you feel like you're insane for saying they wronged you. Whatever wrong done to you is turned on its head is dumped on you.

What am I trying to say- while I agree it's best to forgive and let go, I also understand why he seems stuck where he is at the time and the struggles he's faced with. Seeking revenge is what makes him human, not because he's evil. It's totally normal to see people who hurt you being paid back in their own coin. Don't berate him for that. He can only step out of this situation better when he finds the love and support he craves for.

Judging and slamming him for being human isn't the way to go. The pain of betrayal by loved ones runs deep. All he needs is encouragement, love, support from people who won't judge him further but just for once; listen to the pains that lie in his heart.

Op, if you're reading this, i'd recommend therapy. You need to work through the stages of abuse you've gone through. You need to understand why they happened, possible see if in any way, you played a role in enabling it. You need to unburden and release the pent up pain. Only then will your healing start. I'm sure once you start to feel better, the thought of revenge will ebb gradually.

Stay strong and may light find its way to you
You're a wise person. Your sense complete.

My brother that recruitment was of high standard and no where near regular Nigerian recruitment. They did the best they could despite recession hoping that situation can improve so they don't disappoint many, the main reason for the delay! Over try dey worry them sef!
You're very correct. Which oil and gas company was still recruiting during those period of low oil price, recession and national misadventure. They managed the situation the best they could. They are not exactly proud about the delay themselves anyway.

All thesame, God has still have best plans for everyone.

Good work!

You have a scientists' curiousity

But you don't boil something inside oil though

The term, boiling, is reserved for water or water-soluble liquid

Abeg no vex for that correction, I like your experiment though
Sorry, don't mislead people. Anything physical substance can boil if heated to the right temperature. Water boils at 100°c while other liquid like oil, petrol, methanol etc have their different boiling points at normal atmospheric pressure.
So the term boiling is not just reserved for water or water soluble liquid alone.

Bad advise. Don't do the above.

Usually in a well structure organisation, one has to give an advance notice before leaving, the duration of the notice is usually stated in letter of employment given when one start the job.

Now, in your case, since your employment letter didn't say you must give any advance notice before leaving, you fine. So stick to what you told him, that it wasn't stated in your employment letter or any written agreement that you must give an advanced notice.

He knows, that your response has make it illegal for him to do anything to you, that's why he started cursing you when told him so. Not minding his insult, stick to that ground of not having that written on your employment letter.

Then, unto the threat of him taking some of your properties. You can already see from above, that it is illegal therefore for him to do that. If he repeat that to you again or make a move to carry out his threat. Report him to the police or get a lawyer as some other person has advised.

Take care son, you sound smart and wise. God be with you.

Christianity EtcWhy People Fear Death And The Way Out by Dfavouredone(op): 11:18am On Mar 17, 2017
Today, it is not uncommon to hear stories of death, both of old and young people alike. In the past, when someone dies, every where will be so quiet and the news echos through a clan for a long time. Today, death is so common that it is just like another statistics when we hear of someone's death. This does not in anyway reduce the fear people have for death and the grief families feel for their departed loved ones.

Why is death so dreadful? Below are five reasons why death is so dreadful.

1. Fear of the unknown of what lies hereafter: People fears death because of the fear of the uncertainty of what lies in the life after. It is human nature to fear the unknown. So one reason why people fear death is because of the fear of the unknown in the life after death. If more people are certainly certain of what lies in the life after now, I am sure more people would prefer to be there than be on this earth.

2. Separation from Love ones: People grief for their dead love ones because of the separation, the inability to be able to do absolutely anything for them. They could never hear or speak to them, they can never share their affection or love with them, and this scares people. The fear of leaving behind their loved ones unprotected, uncare for and not be able to do anything for them anymore no matter how hard you try is another reason why people fear death.

3. Death comes uninvited: Another thing that makes death scary to people is that it cannot be planned for. You can't predict when it will come and cannot control it. Again, man fears whatever it cannot predict or control and that can harm him so badly.

4. It disrupt plans: One can be planning for a trip for a dream vocation and death comes or be at the best moments of a lifetime and death comes. This weird characteristics of death to come anytime and disrupt things not minding how important they are is another reason why people fear death.

5. Finality: This is like what sum it all. When one realizes death is the finality of life on earth, no 'i dey come, i forget my cap, make i go collect am first' no. No opportunity to say goodbye to love ones in most cases, no chances to complete whatever you were into in life. I mean, people fear death because of the finality it put on life. Not even a further chance to have say in how your body is treated!

So, the complete separation from love ones, the fear of the unknown, finality of life, unpredictability of death are some of the reasons why most people fear death. But is there a what out of been scare of death, and if there is what is the way out?

Recommended Way Out:
A recommended way out of the fear of death is to Prepare for death! You may ask, How? There are 3 ways I reasoned one can prepare for death. And since death comes irrespective of age, this preparation is important to everyone irrespective of their age. These are:

1. By deciding right now where you will go after death even while living on earth. This will take care of the fear of the unknown. Like i noted earlier, one of the reason why people fear death is because of the fear of the uncertainty of what lies ahead. The bible teaches that there is either life with God or life without God after death. Decide to have a life with God after death by accepting his son, Jesus. This way, you won't have to fear the unknown because you know where you are going after death, and that reduces your fear for death.

2. Talk to your love ones about the subject of death once in a while. People shy away from discussing a subject that is the sure end of every man. Discussing the subject of death with love ones while alive make it easier for them to cope and accept while one is gone because they all know it's what you've all once talked about. That way, it doesn't 'seem' to come uninvited and disrupt plan because by discussing it, one would be unconsciously making allowances for it by the way they live. There is this fear, that people who discuss about death is about to dead soon; so that's why people shy from talking about it, nothing can be further from the truth.

3. Be the best you can today and plan for tomorrow. For no man knoweth not the day nor the hour, be at your best today and everyday while planning for tomorrow. Love the people around you dearly today, put your whole spirit to the exploit of you work and potentials today, maximize the opportunity to make impact today and make plan for your love ones for tomorrow if it happen you are not there. By doing you best every day, it lessen your fear for death as the finality of life because if it comes you would have convinced yourself, your world and God that you have done your best with the time you had.

I am sure you want your country to be developed so why not imitate developed nations other than seeing corruption as a norm. Is it right for a VP to inspect toilets web a minister of health is already appointed and every state has a ministry of health?
Please don't think like the major illiterate that have quoted me, that see a Nigeria that can't be compared to developed nations. Those are frustrated people with no hope of leaving in a better Country someday.
I know it's not a routine or regular inspection. It is just to bring effect and boost to that area of concern.

I agree no doubt someone is not doing their job, and that is what necessitated the visit. Now those people there will be on their toes.
