In life there are 3 categories of people the “starters”, “the critiquers” and “the finishers”. The starters bring initiative to the table, the finishers complete it and “the critiquers” just do what their names suggest.
Whenever I have the privilege to be in a meeting, I always suggest no one critiques an idea without replacing it with a better one. A lot of people shout down an idea without any other reason than that the idea is bad.

This has really baffle me since this line of discussion ensue, but i couldn't have said it better like you did. Thanks so much bro for your constructive contribution thus far.

Comprehension is key. No one says they will cancel the recruitment cause some folks chose to enquire about the status of a recruitment process. A potential employer has the right to place any recruitment process on hold or to cancel for reasons best known to them. As at now, I am sorry the GTS are not of any business need. When the need arises, they will be contacted. It's as simple as this. Creating a handle, bombarding of mails will not make them shift their plans. At this moment GTS are not doing NLNG any favour. They owe no one no shit.

I have a B.Sc Industrial Chemistry ( 4.01/5), Pgd Chemical Engineering ( Distinction ).

I applied for a Canadian admission for MSc.E Chemical Engineering. Normally for your admission to be successful you need to secure a supervisor whose research interest is similar to yours. I have done that and he encouraged me to apply. I submitted my application and after going through my application with other supporting documents like letter of motivation and others, he sent me a mail this afternoon that they want to consider me PhD instead of MSc I applied for. I'm very confused right now if to accept it or not considering high standard of education abroad as I use to hear, I haven't experienced foreign education before, this is my first. Please note my ultimate goal is to obtain a PhD. Please help me push to the front thread cos I need advice from experienced Nigerians who have studied abroad. Thanks. I appreciate

My dear, academically you will be fine. I did my MSc abroad (not bragging, just to want make a point), and I know of a Nigerian whose MSc was converted to PhD. And he completely it successfully, it was his first time schooling offshore as well.

The worry here is if u can fund a four years program instead of two years MSc. If fund isn't the problem, then don't panic, u will do fine and their system is so supportive that a struggling student in Nigeria can excel over there. Cheers.

@freeradical it is still OK to engage them subtly and creatively on twitter if the email thing is going down well with us. I think ur idea is good.

@vantage7, I don't think contacting a recruiting firm is anything 'uncharacteristic of an elite group', many have done it on a personal level on other matters and have received reply. The bombardment idea is just to draw the needed attention we crave.

'Highest assurance' and 'in due course' shouldn't stop us from asking a thing if we have to, however in a courteous way.

Quote me, one thing I know for sure, NLNG isn't canceling this recruitment because a candidate contacted them, how hilarious!

However, if the idea of contacting them as a team is unpopular, we can as well patiently hold our peace. Aren't we all in the wait together?

We can use a combination of the options to send the different versions of the message, including posting it on their FB timeline.

The wait is somewhat annoying, and it's understandable if we feel agitated.

What we should ask ourselves is if there is anything we could do to voice our discomfort in this delay without undermining the process.

Venting our displeasure in the delay without channeling it towards a result will only provide emotional succour but it doesn't change the status quo.

I will suggest like before, that we should bombard them with mild email requesting updates on the process.

Remember, this was what we were about doing in January, before they sent the last emails.

Sounds laudable to the layman but he could still manage and equip both. You dont improve on the health sector by closing hospitals. They have their purposes.
He needs to build more and equip existing ones.
Much like robbing Kabiru to pay Haliru.

The fact that the governor travels abroad for his treatments does not mean that a government house hospital is unnecessary.

While it also sound laudable to have equip both, it is good this way. Lets them feel the situation in the public hospital as well.

So when next money is appropriated to the public services, they won't eat it because they will suffer it as well. Or do u think it is just the governor of these state that are corrupt, commissioners and the rest who enjoy these privileges and neglect the public facilities are the worst.

They should come and use the one the general public is using that way they will passionate to make it work. Or are they not the same citizens like u and i?

I joined NSE as a GMNSE last year, i graduated in july 2012, finished service in feb 2014 and have been working in a consulting engineering firm since then. Now i hope to apply for NSE corporate membership sept diet. Having graduated 4 years ago but having only 2yrs post nysc experience, am i eligible to apply? I worked for 8months in an engr firm while waiting to be mobilised for NYSC. MY Cumulative experience would be 4yrs by september if counted in terms of post graduation experience, what do you think? Would i be eligible?

You are eligible to applied as the requirement for registration with NSE is 4 years post graduation experience and haven worked in an engineering firm and also currently working in an engineering firm is a advantage.

Not having up to 4 years engineering practicing experience is not a barrier as the oral interview panel are more inclined to those currently practicing rather than those who are not.

But i will personally advise you to give yourself one more year (maybe still Sept 2017 or atleast April 2017) except your practical engineering grasp is very sound. This is to avoid been judged as just meeting the minimum qualification and whose little error can adjoin as a need to still go back and gain more years of engineering experience.

You can actually take your MSc as a working experience.

NSE application depends largely in how your could present your case and defend you technical report.

Your undergraduate or MSc project could be re-package to fit as a technical report as it forms part as of your experience.

Though to be sincere, you have more to proof to the oral panel if you haven't worked at all as an engineer.

Yes, you can join NSE as a graduate member GMNSE - Graduate Member, Nigeria Society of Engineer. Been a graduate member already before applying for corporate membership gives you some points when you apply for the corporate membership. Though isn't a must to be graduate member before apply for corporate membership.

You apply for corporate membership of NSE 4-5 years after graduation but you can apply for graduate immediately after graduation.

The pleasure from cheating is just overrated, there is nothing as gratifying as a faithful and committed partner - it heightens your sense of purpose.

No, I didn't withdraw it. I waited till a decision was made on it. Though they didn't overlook the date discrepancy.

Remember, the 476 grant is not the final bus stop itself but a step towards PR.
