HeavenlyBang:Thank you so much. |
Good afternoon, I have a 2008 Lexus Es350(fantastic car by the way) I have an issue with it, the steering control peels off as shown in the picture. Who has an idea of what can be done to it, do I need to change the entire steering ?
|
teamb:Go for the RX350 My Reasons: You got 2009 corrola few days ago, because of what happened you are considering the 2012 model year. Except the corrola is Sports with full option in no time you will be bored. RX on the other hand is a midrange SUV/CUV, better comfort and driving experience though fuel consumption is higher. It has better features and options to play around with. |
teamb:What made you go for the 09 corrola in the 1st place with respect to the aforementioned criteria. Let's start from there. |
HeavenlyBang:The purpose of this thread has been defeated. The mods need take serious measures to curtail these. Every thread that ought to be insightful has been overtaken by these guys on meaningless fights. Gone are the days you open car talk and be sure to learn one new thing or the other. |
seanfer:Yorubas have a saying "when you compare two children, you will kill one with beating" I was giving that case as maybe a possible reason for what happened, at least if it could give him a place to start his explanation(s). Buying materials twice the price isn't always my problem, still not getting it right. Most people here always claim OEM this imported that but at the end Kazeem does a better job than most. I can imagine driving a car to a workshop for you to check only to leave there and I'm stranded not anywhere but 3MB at night.... sigh |
Gkemz:He (Autologic) was online this morning 8:19am. But has refused to comment here, I wonder why people do business like this. This is purely human error you could appologise for and move on. No one is above mistake. |
obamma:Like others above said, you should have called him to explain what you are passing through. In my few years of vehicle ownership and dealings, I've had and seen cases like this with mechanics. He might not be the one coupling the parts, his apprentice or workers might be ones responsible. I always tell Mechanics one thing, what ever your workers do, don't be too busy or too big to cross check even if you were the one who did it, won't cost you anything. |
So disheartening to hear you had to pass through this. I(some other members here) will like to know if you actually contacted autologic and told him all you were passing through after a visit to him. If you did, what was his response? |
Dealers have started crashing car prices, registered cars in Nigeria are now sold at ridiculous prices. Worse than what is often experienced in mid January after detty December lavish spending. If situation continue like this for 2months, all those people who have lost their jobs will start selling properties to keep Body and soul. |
osmeka:Depends on what you want in that SUV 3.5l 2GR-Fe 270hp 13l/100km. 18mpg (city) 9.4l/100km. 24mpg(highway) 2.7l. 1AR-Fe 187hp 12l/100km. 20mpg (city) 8.7l/100km. 27mpg (highway) Do you think the extra 125 Naira spent on fuel per 100km is worth the additional 83hp? |
Blackbishop:Mechanics dey try Especially these online mechanics that try to proffer solutions online. I read some complaints and can't comprehend only to read possible solutions by mechanics then understand what the person was saying initially. |
emmaeddie:Check engine mounts(engine seats) Don't understand what you meant by changing the engine to a V6, what engine was there before? |
bartundey:Ride to a chilling spot |
Truth will always prevail |
Cosyfaith:You took it out of my mouth. Look at notable men dropping in Kano. It's not funny but it's amazing |
Nigeria isn't ready for this. A country where malaria still has high mortality rate! A country where there is dwindling health system. Just one day of easing lockdown see what we are seeing in lagos! Shame on our leaders! |
bartundey:2005 model year If it's for transport I wont advice XLE, LE with fabric seats will do. We are all learning daily, I might need your or another person's expertise in another sphere of life. |
bartundey:The avensis wasn't made for American market, a friend got his from Belgium. Internet is your friend then meet people who import from other countries other than us and Canada. The avensis is smaller when compared to a sienna, all on the average Toyota brands are known for reliability. Fuel consumption: the avensis saves more fuel but not as powerful as the sienna Maintenance: the sienna will only require 1 extra liter of oil during oil change. Durability: this is where there is personal preferences. When a machine A or engine has a rated output of 80 and maximum output of 100. You as a user pushes it to 90/100 per time Then machine B haa rated output of 100 and maximum output of 130. Another user pushes it to same 90/100 Which machine would last longer under continuous use? Machine A is the Avensis while the sienna is the machine B. |
For a transport business as you stated, the 1st generation sienna wouldn't pay off in terms of passenger comfort.(back glass) The avensis verso will be a better alternative IMO. If you can save up for the latter model of sienna (2003 above) then you are good to go. |
duality:Tell him not to rush, he should take his time. I've seen quite a number of first timers in this dilemma who after going for the more recent regret their actions, it always often ends in premium tears. Always go with trusted mechanic Don't be too greedy. |
magnetic20:No, I don't |
DARLINGTON869:How much is initial deposit ? How long are you expected to finish paying off? To be candid, big daddy is around 1.5/1.6m, HP shouldn't be more than 2.5m You can go for naija used that is clean and sound, reasoning from business angle, the ease of repayment and short period. |
Don't always rely on distress sales to buy a car, with your 400k you can still get a golf 3 at 300k which you can love-vendor to taste (alloys, AC, neat interior etc). It's sometimes better to buy a solid small car than a big car with wahala considering the funds available |
IkpuNnegiEwu44:Check your disk and calipers |
ugkk:Check your disk well....its often the culprit |
ivoryhouse:I can't but agree with you. I drove and was driven in a 2010 model year... The experience was great |
Registered es300/es330 sells for 1-1.3m depending on the number of years used, the condition etc. With that amount you I'll get a sound one, just don't rush. |
valarinz:That's why I don't park anywhere, If I'm not sure where I'm going, opay is my next call. |
Promxy94:Everything cost me 8k Including buying and workmanship.... Didn't take the guy 30mins, he didn't loose any wiring. He just got the *follow come* remote, then programmed it. |
Funny thing is that he will go to market, luckily buy the exact parts removed from his car(more like paying for the part's redemption) Sorry for your loss. This happened to me long time ago, my wheel cover got missing, trying to get replacement I saw the exact one (was engraved). Had to just pay and let go. Till you get a safe place to always park your car maintain that manual windows. |
Promxy94:YouTube is your friend as adanny01 stated earlier. IMO getting the factory type is better than the aftermarket sold around. Its cheap though.... The one I did for a 05 corrola early last year still functional without any issues. |
