Hey guys, just thought to update the house though i'm not so frequent here. Been married for close to two years and i've been trying to join my spouse who has been in canada for almost 5 years. So after two previous TRV refusals, we finally got ppr mail. Aor was in feb, 2018 (A whole year). ITA was received dec 2017. I've been speechless and expressionless since we got the mail. I've been drained emotionally. I'm just really grateful to God and very optimistic about what lies ahead. For as many that are still waiting, delay is not denial, it will come.

Nicely done! All the very best as you settle in more.

Oga blackbuddy, Congo2, salford1, maternal in fact all the seniors. What are prospects you have seen/heard/encountered for a chemistry PhD (previously lecturing and tired of standing and talking) in:

1. Oil patch
2. Government
3. Pharma
4. Others

Looking specifically at Alberta and Saskatchewan but anywhere is fine, really.

Science majors are not really discussed on here, except for that chairman that moved from factory hand to manager in a week.

Many thanks and kind regards.
honestly, people barely talk about science majors. I used to wonder if studying for a phd in canada would be financially rewarding.

Hi guys, happy new year. Just thought i should share my medical experience at q life family clinic. It's actually my second time going for medicals. I made sure i got there very early as i still had to go to work to later in the day. We wrote our names down with the gateman according to how we came. Hospital doesnt open for work until 8am, but its always still better to get in early. There were seats outside till they opened. The lady at the helpdesk instructed us to write our names and passport number at the back of our passport photograph, you need just one. NOTE: the photograph has to be on a VERY plain WHITE background with no form of stain or funny print out colors else you'd be required to go out and take another. Xray is the first examination taken, followed by urinalysis, vitals(blood preasure, hear rate, weight, height, bmi), eye test(you'd be given a "spoon" to close one eye and read out some alphabets from a distance), blood work and finally you'd be cross examined by a medical doctor. Pretty seamless process.
I came across someone whose name wasn't on the list of those who scheduled appointment. She wanted to try her luck to see if by chance she could get to run her medicals, she was asked to step aside to meet the receptionist at another corner of the room and i dont think i ever saw her again. This is not to discourage anyone but i'm not sure gatecrashing at the clinic would be a great idea. These people were pretty much orderly and no prefrential treatment to anyone whether pregnant, elderly or otherwise. You are attended to according to how you came.
Thats my little story guys, have a great day.

Hi everyone, I have been a silent reader for about a month now.. I will like to know a few things.

Here is my concern, my work experience reference letter has 34 months (Instead of 36 months for 3 years). It actually meets the work hour requirement for 3 years but it is deficient of 2months... will this be a problem in my application after stating that i have 3 years work experience? Thanks.

yes it will be

Hi guys. I can imagine what you guys must be going through. To say the least, it's exhausting and quite painful to know that your applications are still pending. But guess what? Delay is not denial and it will definitely happen soonest. I advise you order your GCMS notes as soon as you can so you have an idea of the status of your applications.

As someone rightly said, ordering your GCMS notes might prompt them into prioritizing and processing your file. There are cases where applicants reach out to IRCC and they got their PPRs fast. If you can, contact them via phone or email, it wouldn't hurt to try.

And who knows? Anything can happen and we will celebrate with you guys anytime from now.

Cheers!

ordering gcms notes doesnt do jack. Ordered 4 already and counting......

Good morning fam. Please I have a little concern with regards to my reference letter.

Firstly, the words 'full time' was not stated in the letter but the number of working hours (40hours/week) was mentioned.

Secondly, I don't know if the date mentioned qualifies for one year (eg 23 March 2017- 11 March 2018).

These two issues have been bothering me. Please I would appreciate your kind advise.
Thanks

dearest one, i would advise you to PLEASE correct the date to meet up with the 1 year requirement. These people are not joking one bit because your ITA is going to be re-calculated after submission and if the number of years of experience you claimed doesnt add up to what is in the documements you presented, the ITA score will drop.....which could in turn affect your eligibility especially if it falls below the ITA score for that round.
This is exactly the situation my spouse and I have found ourselves in, infact we submitted our application since feb and uptill now have ordered about 3 gcms notes and everything still says "eligbilty under review" just because of the singular mistake of omitting one month from a year's experience on his refrence letter.
Please just make sure you cross your "t"s and dot your "i"s before you submit.
