incrediblestev: you are obviously not from Delta state...... from the way you keep trying to validate yourself, OT shows that you are a phoney confusionist. abeg let real deltans talk Boko.
The guy you quoted is right.Sentiments apart the Urhobos are more in population but the Aniomas have more local Government area than them.Apart from Agbor which Anioma town has much population than Ughelli,Sapele or Effurun?Even the so called Asaba is gradually being taken over by the Urhobos in terms of population owing to the mass employment of them during the Ibori era.

One thing i know for sure is that the present Governor in Delta state will hand over to someone from Anioma and like i said earlier on the likely person to be is the present Speaker RT.Hon.Victor Ochie.Anyone in doubt of this my comment should bookmark it for future reference and for those comparing Delta and Edo state i think they really need their head examined.Aside Benin city where in Edo state can match places like Warri,Sapele,Ughelli and Oghara? The most developed places in Edo state like Auchi,Ekpoma can only be compared to Agbor.

Though Prof.Pat Utomi is a nice man and well suited for the job but it will take miracle for him to win.I doubt if Prof Pat Utomi can even win an election as a Local Government Chairman in Oshimili North Local Government Area. Those properly rooted in Delta state Politics should know that the likely next Governor of the state as it stands now is the Present Speaker House of Assembly in the person of RT.Hon Victor Ochie. The present Governor can't be silly to install someone he is not too close to.We all know the said Ochie is the Governor's conduit pipe in siphoning cash from the state.Unless the President intervenes in who becomes PDP Gubernetorial flag bearer in 2015 then we should be expecting the Present Minister of Niger Delta Godsday Orubebe.I will echo it that it will take a miracle for Pat Utomi or even Senator Ifeanyi Ukowa to be Governor come 2015.

Lol am based in Abuja but my first 2 months where in Lagos after that I spend 6mnths in Sapele love that place and then we moved to Abuja. As a social worker I encounter ppl from all walks of life. I've traveled to Calabar,Asaba,Kontagora,Kano,Kaduna,Zaria,Enugu,Uyo and so on. Like I said if we hold ppl responsible for their actions Nigeria will change its sad that Nigerians have the attitude of e no concern me while it does. Change starts from ur home the person u see throwing something on the ground and not in de bin. I can go on and on. If I see a white man or woman jumping the que I always ask them do u behave like that in ur country? And I do that to Nigerians to pls wait for ur turn. Change starts with u and me.

You sound very much like someone i know. Her name is Maira(Peterson)Dont know if i spelled your name correctly.I may be mistaken though. The Husband use to be my pal and big bro in Abuja.Your description about yourself just fit into his wife's personality.

@OP Don't make youngsters still battling with ASUU and don't know what life is all about keep telling you sh.it.I believe before you took out time to type your last lengthy reply you must have thought it through and this gave birth to your decision.I have an Uncle who left Nigeria for Canada about 7 years ago. Before he left he was earning far more than you.Almost four times what you earn annually.Yes i said it almost four times your annual salary if not even more.He worked with SNEPCO.So many Nigerians judge life with their present condition and they draw a conclusion that everyone is like that.Every man to his fate and destiny. The same reason you gave that is what he gave for living the country as par children's future and peace of mind. When he got to Canada(Calgary) he had to pick up a job that pays far lesser than what he earns in Nigeria all because of his family but within his field(Oil Exploration). When he came to see me last year in the US he told me he doesn't care about what he earns now but he is always happy seeing his kids happy and living a life he dreamt of living while growing up but couldn't because his dad(My grand father)couldn't afford it.For those talking about you not finding a job when you migrate those are real pessimist and a Losers. If it doesn't work for you or someone you know doesn't mean it won't work for others. It was here in this forum few weeks back a Nairalander spoke of how he was mocked in the US by friends and loved ones on migrating with visa lottery that he can't work with his degree. They told him to start all over again by going to study Nursing.Today the guy who was an Accountant in Nigeria is now working with it.This is a guy that left Nigeria November last year according to his story.OP i believe you ain't one.My Uncle told me when he got to Calgary he was ashamed of himself. That so many guys that were his colleague back in Nigeria have now floated their own oil firm while some occupied Managerial positions in some great Multi-national Oil companies in Calgary. But it should be noted that he got his job based on the fact that he migrated through the Skilled Workers Programme. And being a professional with a track record of verifiable International projects in his field it didn't take him much time to secure a job.My advice to you OP is to look into this Skilled Workers Program someone provided the link earlier and try look into Australia also and see if you will be qualified. That's the best route IMO.Finally pray about it for its only God that can make our dreams come through especially when we work towards it and commit it to him.Wish you and your family best of luck

From the tone of the letter that's if truely she is the one that wrote it must really be disappointed in her father.A senile old cranky fella who ought to be playing with his grand kids and awaiting his glorious exit from a nation he ironically plunged into the mud.Thank God his daughter is sane enough and I just wish others in the league of her father can have either their spouse or close confidants look them in the eyes and tell them squarely of their misbehavior without fear.

Properties / Re: BBC Replies - "Ever Seen A Well-Built African House On BBC?" by Diasporan(m): 4:09pm On Dec 08, 2013
Guidette: 'Africa.... The Dark Continent' is how they always start their stupid shows when featuring the African continent. It is so sad that Americans are so dumb when it comes to Africa and it is because these stations misrepresent us all the time. They think we are one country and that irks me everytime I hear the word Africa from their mouth. Imagine.... I asked an American chick who visited 'Africa' which country she visited, and she didnt know. When I told her I knew all the 50 states of America, she was shocked and had to agree she was ignorant herself.

Besides, who even watches BBC and CNN anyways. Those propaganda filled stations... I honestly would rather watch a whole hour of NTA than to sit through an hour of CNN.
This your post reminds me of an encounter I had with a Guyanese American few months ago.She told me she thought Mandela was the President of Africa and Nigeria is a state in Africa.Couldn't stop laughing at her ignorance.Don't blame 'most' Americans that see Africa as a single country but blame Africans in the US.Majority of them especially Nigerians when you ask them where they are from they will tell you they are from Africa. It's common amongst the girls. It is also prevalent when you ask them who they are speaking to on the phone the reply you get is that they are speaking to someone in Africa. It annoys me whenever I hear my fellow Nigerians say so.Ghanians and Camerounians I have met are even more specific about their country but for Nigerians the reverse is the case.Am not trying to make excuse for the so called dumb Americans but an 'average' American is not interested in what's happening outside his or her state talkless of other states in America or some other continent.

Still remembered the day he was released from prison though was really young then but couldn't stop crying.I shed tears of joy and since that day I started dreaming of meeting him in person or just setting my eyes on him.My major regret about the news of his death is that I never achieved my dream of 23 years of seeing him.A model for how a true Leader and Patriot should be.He is the most respected man ever in modern day history.Journey on to the Elysian field and sail safely to Bizantium Madiba.

With this it is obvious a Nigerian will likely win the prestigious CAF Player of the year award. This BBC award is not necessary afterall Jay Jay Okocha got it but never won the glorious CAF Player of the year award. And i can't remember a player winning both award in the same year.Infact i am happy Mikel Obi didn't win this award which implies that Mikel is still up for contention for the CAF Player of the year award. All the same congrats to Yaya Toure.

How does that negate his Nigerian-ness. At the end of the day, he doesn't owe Nigeria anything. If Nigeria wants him, then Nigeria has to go get him now that he's yet to play for America (the country that he owes a lot to for giving him an opportunity).

Olajuwon never played for Nigeria despite being born and raised in the country. However, does that change anything? His accent is just as Nigerian as yours - and he might be more Nigerian than you. grin
Leave that dude alone. The Victor guy might even be more Nigerian than he is.I have had the opportunity of meeting the Victor twice in his cousin's house in Pittsburgh,PA.The dude is not far from home. His parent are these typical Yorubas(Africans) that didn't make America go into them. There is every likelihood he might play for the D'tigers if those in charge woo him properly.

The NIA hardly recruit openly. Before though don't know if the system has changed the best way to get in is to have a real backing of a strong politician who will give the DG a direct call and introduce himself before making him know his request.Various factors will aid you to get in.First is to get the personal phone number of the DG which is not easy to get.If you or your high wired politician can get his number you are a step close to getting the job.secondly is the ability for the politician to put real pressure on the DG cause there is every likelihood he would tell him they are not recruiting but he will let him know whenever they are but this he will never do.so much pressure and networking can make him eventually change his mind.Thirdly you must be intelligent and a critical thinker.Their pay and incentives will make you almost go mad. It's indeed a nice agency to work in.

How I wish so many people know how governance and the public sector is ran in Nigeria. Those cars were never in anyday purchased talkless of delivered. It's a simple agreement between Coscharis, the Minister and some key personels of NCAA.Those document leaked to Sahara Reporter was simply done by someone who felt left out from the mouth watery deal. The document were for mere documentation. It's a regular occurrence in the day to day affairs of the public service both at the Federal and State level. There are many of such deals ungoing as I type this comment but few are revealed.Kicking out corruption in Nigeria IMO is impossible no matter who is the President cause corruption for an average Nigerian is inborn.

You can't relocate the indigenous man to a foreign land - that's unacceptable. You've to respect his rights to his land and give him whatever you want to give him over there. They will definitely come back for their lands in future like the prodigal son.
Like I said you are wrong maybe because you are not familiar with the terrain. The land they relocated them to is still their land just that they moved them from what you know as downtown(Central Business Districts) to the side of the town so as to give way for building of Federal Government infrastructure.Like I said earlier on they built good houses for them with basic infrastructure like electricity, water and roads but these people choose to sell their houses to foreigners like the Igbos and others and still return to little huts. That was why the former Minister of FCT Mallam Elrufai was always demolishing their illegal settlements and hamlets because it was distorting the master plan of the city.

I won't be surprised if the indigenous people wake up one day and ask for their land. cool
Bro you are wrong. The indigenes were relocated and given houses with amenities intact in some new districts I.e Garki II and Gudu but instead they decided to sell the houses to foreigners. The people are largely plagued by illiteracy and they can't even wake up one day to conceive the idea of asking for any land because they were duly compensated which is a rare occurrence in Nigeria and there are legal document to back it up.The federal Government was really magnanimous to them.
