Nigeria has diversified greatly into agriculture. From your initial comment you said the development we see in agriculture is private sector driven without government support.....but how will private sector grow if government didnt provide the enabling environment. The FACT is government agricultural policies over the years has greatly improved our agricultural sector from ensuring we are sufficient in fertilizer production and provision of other farm inputs.
If not for the various diversification policies of government in agriculture.....Nigeria would have gone into food crisis especially at the height of COVID19 pandemic. The same private people you are hailing are partly responsible for rising food prices(the other being insecurity) because they invade the farms...buy up produce for peanuts and see to city folks at exhorbitant prices.
Have you seen farmers complain of suffering in this government?...farmers only worry now is how they will increase their production and yield not how to sell their products as theres enough demand.
