It has always be sorrow for football fans any time they manage the SE...they are hungry and feel they are entitled to own the SE even without developing themselves coaching wise.

How on earth would a model without the least coaching badge be a national team coach and another one that i cant remember the last club side or national team he coached and year been in the dugout be the technical adviser....

1994 set would always be a disaster to the SE of this era....NFF should do away with them and their entitlement character.
humility33:
I would have said same words if I was in Victor shoes

This 1994 set think they own the super eagles or they love Nigeria better than the current crop of players where as the few amongst them who later become coaches have gone kill our national team oliseh and now Equeavon

This men won't rest they see the super eagles as birth right and when you give them to manage they'll kill the team their mates elsewhere are making progress and managing football federations here none of them is even state FA chairmen all they do is to criticise and when u ask them to coach the outdated 1994 philosophy is all they have upstairs

Mention any tactical play or knowledge infused or you saw in the third phase of the field that would have resulted into goal.

We played into the hand of the Ghanian coach tactic book. He was so confident in his tactics against our archaic coach that he never doubted his team would come out better even though he possessed lesser quality player.
I doff my hat for coach Otto Ado....

Our own Ex- Internationals want to coach Super Eagles without a coaching badge or internship from a reputable club side in Europe.
BascoVanVeli:
We dominated possession and we had way more shots on target. What else could the coach dohuh Did he tell Uzoho not to catch that back Passhuh It is ridiculous to blame the coach after that performance.

You have come again....luck would have been a karma if we had qualify. Ghana were better in both legs. Game management and tactical prowess was top notch.

We never had a tactical coach.....still leaving in the old era of 1994.

Oga " na our own" lets support him even if he is of utmost mediocre without a known coaching practice for 10years.

AE has always been a failure in the Nigeria national team set up whether at the junior level or the Senior level.

To Eguavoen, I hope you can see your handwork. I refused o write about this until after the playoffs. You want to satisfy big men. I hope you have satisfied them.

Whatever misdeed you sow, so shall you reap bountifully and with tears....

Our Ex-Internationals and their 1980 captain general sowed massive hatred and planned failure towards a man that did no wrong to our football and usually qualify us with joy to competitions because they were hungry and wanted to eat from what they did not plant but the creator of heaven and earth has shamed them.

Our mentality towards life and one another that breeds hatred, nepotism and religion bigot has destroyed this beautiful country called Nigeria.

We need to embrace love and desist from pull down syndrome.

Nigeria will be great again.

Good line up and formation....but i will change Moses for lookman....Moses should come in as substitute, he style of play is well known to African teams now....once double marked, he lacks idea on what to do but passes back or lose the ball.

Beside that, his final output his atrocious whether in terms of crossing the ball, playing corner kicks ir one on one with the opposite goalkeeper.

I would prefer Lookman to start, he is more direct, focus and has good crossing ability.

The Ghanians are coming to park the bus and play on the counter.

Their teacher taught the "Haram" football made in 1994.

EA should pls update himself and forget about this 1994 stuff....Amuneke himself mentioned in an interview with Elegbete TV that football is not about wing play again that football has evolve.
safarigirl:
He should be talking about that, so that they understand the importance of even showing up at a World Cup

He has been there and done that. So many of them on that team cannot say same and he is reminding them what is at stake, E be like to qualify no dey do them again.

They should go back and rewatch that Haram football they subjected over 20 million people to on Friday, so they can see what boredom really looks like.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 12:40am On Mar 28, 2022
Kelechi was a minus one....nothing he added to the game.
Danielnino00:
In my opinion, the lack of enough personnel in midfield really affected our overall play... There were times when our wingers and fullbacks got the ball but didn't know what to do cus there was nobody to pass it to.. There was no coordination between Bonke and Aribo at all..at the AFCON, Aribo worked better with Ndidi..
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 1:25pm On Mar 27, 2022
Twice AE miscalculated with its system and formation to recreate the ghost of 1994 Eagles, looking for what is not lost in our football and twice he got smashed with potatoes on his face....

AE should please for the sanity of 120millions Nigerians don't try this nonsense old archaic 442 formation that transcend to 424 on Tuesday. The only thing giving us Joy and unity in Nigeria today is Football.

433 is the formation to beat a very technical and determined Black stars on Tuesday with Etebor, Onyeka and Aribo in the midfield and the frontline personnel should be Dennis, Victor and Lookman or else we kiss Qatar 2022 goodbye.

I repeat no sentiment or bias in selection because AE has not shown good faith in this regard.

I sincerely hope, pray and wish we qualify....Up Super Eagles.

Must he start his apprenticeship with the Senior National team without a badge? Nepotism and sentiment at play.
TheGoodJoe:

He is starting. He lacks the badges and experience for such role yet. However, as a fitness coach and working directly with the team, he will learn a lot about coaching the Super Eagles.

You do not know if he has weighed the career path of Africans in Europe and seen they hardly ever get to the top.

Maybe he wants to focus on Super Eagles where if he is good, he can rise.

You understand well.... Kudos
TheSuperNerd:
This dude, whoever he is, really got us figured out. But my hope is the addition of Emmanuel Amunike.

Everything he said is true but I like that they think we would approach that game with "one tactic" alone. I trust Eguavoen won't make the same tactical mistake (unless he intends to fall hands again).
They should be in for a surprise if Amunike works his tactical magic. wink

March is just next month. Time will tell.

Beat them
We have to take this match with all the seriousness it deserves!! For those who keep saying if we don’t qualify for the wc is ok, should pack themselves to a a corner and allow some of us who really want the bs to beat Nigeria to the ticket!! They already blocked us once from going to the wc and we shouldn’t allow it to happen again otherwise is going to be a record and a history in the making!! We should do anything under our power to beat them in cape coast and make the return leg a DOG FOGHT! We should prepare and put everything in place to beat them!! Eguavon who has been appointed as their coach only has one tactics, WING PLAY and we should cut and brutally block their wingers from playing and seize control of the midfield and is going to be done and dusted!! There’s no plan B for them!! They can’t play thru the midfield and we should seize control of the midfield and block their wingers!! We should beat them

Culled from Ghanaweb...
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 12:07am On Jan 24, 2022
We were never in control of that match.
TheGoodJoe:

You do not make changes like that. When Tunisia scored, the commentator said against the run of play. We were working on breaking the organization of the defense of the Tunisians before the goal came in.

No coach will make an early change when his team is in control of the game.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 12:03am On Jan 24, 2022
Oga, am not into this Man city nor European football club stuff, this is National team football where you do not have the luxury of another opportunity to remedify a lost opportunity.
Am talking of either you win or lose in a knockout stage you telling me about other factors. Oga off your mic..am off to bed. Good nite and have a pleasant less stressful work week ahead.
TheGoodJoe:

If you understand football, you will know football has other factors than win or lose. Manchester city was to win Southampton yesterday. I think we hit the bar three times. Sadiq's last shot was to enter. He did every thing right. The chance to Moses was clean. He missed his touch. Ndidi had a chance to bury from range but miscued his shot. There were other chances.

That is beyond the skill of the coach.

By the way, we did not play Sexy football. I wonder where you guys got this notion from. Eguavoen is strictly an offensive coach. Little time for style. Very direct with longball.

So I wonder what lesson you think he was to learn when you do not even get how we played.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 11:41pm On Jan 23, 2022
He had nothing to lose again..is either he go for it or play safe to avoid conceding more.

For me he has been good with his tactics but once you know your team was lethargic from the 1st minutes of a match and your opponent has gotten a foothold on the game, you should have a plan b.

Hope he massively learn from todays match because i know once he calm down and re watch the match he would know he ought to have done better most especially the first half.
TheGoodJoe:

How is he tactically inept? Eguavoen with a man down took the game to them and showed them a good game. Na wa.

Our pressure came from tactical switches. If there is any thing you want to criticise, it is not tactics.

How? Please dont give me theory...i want you to be factual with statistics base on the match and not any clubside match.
TheGoodJoe:

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 11:25pm On Jan 23, 2022
What is the true picture of play? Oga, is football no more a competition? Is either a team wins or lose

We were in Afcon to win and not to come and play sexy football with no directness and no shot at goal for a whole half and expect to win.

Please did we go to Afcon to party or jamboree.

We were simply not good today and the better team won clean and fair.

Hope we learnt another vital lesson of football today.
TheGoodJoe:

Shot on goal does not paint the true picture of play.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 11:15pm On Jan 23, 2022
Yes brother, i expected the coach to tweak his tactic at the beginning of that second half because the Tunisians were draging the game to suit there purpose and we played into their hands, they were not in a hurry to counter us and had clip all our dangerous outlets and were just waiting for that one opportunity to score and thereafter bring their playbook time wasting and frustrating football to play.
Our coach should have yanked kelechi off and push Aribo upfront and bring in Nwakali or onyeaka to shore up the midfield and take over the midfield lost to them at the last quarter of the first half.
forgiveness:
By changing tactics in the first half, we could have.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 11:06pm On Jan 23, 2022
I want you to be truthful for once, pls highlight or mention one instance apart from Sadiq side kick at goal from a through ball in the second half that was counted as shot at goal

Super Eagles were not good enough today, Tunisia game plan was excellent and well executed. Did you see Moses, Chukwese or Awoniyi do anything important to effect the game today.

Oga no be by your man city football theory....we were outsmarted and predictable. No plan b tactic.
TheGoodJoe:

Just say you did not watch the match and your looking at stats from a website. If you did, you will not make this statement.

With one shot at goal. Oga we were outsmarted. Our game was predictable.
forgiveness:
But too late. We ought to have buried the game in the first half.
TheGoodJoe:

I heard this outsmarting from the panel and I asked someone a question? How smart were they? We had loads of chances to take the game. Eguavoen actually outsmarted them, not the other way around. Even with a man down, we kept creating chances. We were just unfortunate. I think the Tunisian's are getting more praise than they deserve.

Congratulations they won but they were totally outplayed as far as I am concerned.

Best of luck to the Super Eagles
SeunWedsLinda:
that is a 4-1-4-1 formation with ndidi playing as a lone defensive midfielder. Something he's already used to at Liecester

Eguavoen is not different from Rorh, same thing complained about Gernot, same thing Eguavoen is doing....

No creative midfielder
Playing Aribo deep
Kelechi will be lost in the final third of the half because he would not see much ball to link with Awoniyi if Egyptian coach play a compact midfield game.
Starting Simon to assist in defensive duties (Rorh all over again) to limit his expressive play down the flank.

I pray and wish we anyhow win this match today because am seeing a very boring and frustrating match for the Eagles based on the tatic and personnel in play.

Pray all goes well for my super Eagles.

Guy, i dont know what is about this Egypt that you are gallivanting on... grin....if we can not beat this present day Egypt not Aboutricka Set that won trophies upon trophies then our star studded team is very wack....one salah and mixture of zamalek and Alhly player....

Please rate us well, without Victor, this team is good for the semi final if not even the cup itself
komekn:
Egypt is considerably better than Morocco undoubtedly.

We are not going to out pass Egypt, we either try to contain them and hit them on the break, that means with blistering pace as a strategy.

You need intelligent players to do that , funny enough for me the best CB for that is Awaziem, and Balogun he Awaziem should not be playing as a RB or we will get roasted.

Zaidu against Sala will see him pick up a yellow at least , you need intelligence and some pace to deal with Salah. Zaidu lacks intelligence.

Onyeka is a water carrier who can keep running all 90 minutes , Ndidi the same hard working but don't expect innovation and creativity from them. You will have to leave that for Aribo plus end product and he will work hard too. Later in Aribo can be subbed for Iwobi.

Why because our Midfield is going to be working over time. And it's only for very fit players.

Up front it will get ugly and so physicality will be needed , because none of the current young pretenders have blistering pace, so bullying and roughing be them up will have to do. And that's what I will expect from Awoniyi.

Chukwueze doesn't work hard enough or back track's to help in defence and flatters to decieve, very little end product. I want to believe Ejuke is better, that he can cross the ball accurately for Awoniyi. And so playing both wings I will have Musa with option to be subbed later in the games by either Olyinka or

We don't have strength in depth, we do need Ighalo but it seems he is missing.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by dijon: 11:23pm On Jan 09, 2022
His ball passing skill does not exist.
He tends to balloon the ball upward to no man in particular.
He makes rash decision when put under pressure defensively.
His tackling is mind boggling...
He often times score own goals because he does not have the body to change his direction against goal bound crosses.
I can continue with a lot of his deficiency but let me leave it at this few ones but mind you Omeruo has his own issues defending too but he is the lesser devil.

Why do you say Ekong is not good enough.
