Your opinion but i think pairing Omeruo with Bassey is the best for the team now. The centre back need an experience player who can guide the team. The only match Ajayi n bassey or any other person performed averagely was the match with Sao tome( i stand to be corrected) every other match it has been awful..conceding goals n goals. We need Omeruo and not Awaziem nor Ajayi to pair Bassey.
2innocent: Based on Afcon standard, I don't think we have a weak defense. The problem is that the coach looks dumb. I hear he plans pairing Omeruo with Bassey, I think Omeruo should be coming in towards the end of matches to secure wins. Awaziem is the best pair for Bassey honestly
Uhmm...deep....i can only wish him the best going forward but honestly our NFF too did not do well at all.
AndSunGorilla: For the last AFCON, we were begging Emmanuel Dennis to come and play and between him.and Watford, he declined our invite. Watford got relegated and unfortunately Dennis'career has been on a downward spiral. I remember one Senegalese striker that time, Sakho from Westham then. He too declined to attend AFCOn for his team and his career nose-dived. Anybody wey like make im lie, no problems at all . Matip wey use Cameroon Shakara just dey get injury like menstrual cycle
Even though i dont rate JP, for crying out loud he is a Portuguese and Nwakali, Onyeamachi plays in the Portuguese league. Dont you think he has enough dossiers about Nigerian players kicking footie in his home country? Mind you he is well known and he has coached the very best and top clubsides in his country before. He does not rate Nwakali at all please take this advice and rest this Nwakali this and that issue. The boat don sail tey tey. Lets get behind the team and other players called up. Soar high SE.
Meliforme: An indepth analysis into what Nwakali normally does, and then given the type of forwards that we have, and how they like to play, the presence of Nwakali in our midfield boosts our chances of winning any match by at least 30%. I say this with every authority as a sound football analyst and can defend it anywhere if i want to.
Ndidi is truly injured but he will be good to go in a fortnight....he has a recurring thigh injury not really serious but Leicester just want to put out the narrative of injury for their own advantage and beside Ndidi contracts expire this summer so he does not want to aggravate it by coming for Afcon. With or without Ndidi SE will be good only if that stubborn coach use a 3 man midfield comprising Onyeadika, Alhassan and Iwobi....he should never start with a two man midfield nor pair Onyeka with Iwobi...if he does SE will lose all 3 group matches scandalously.
Please dead this Nwakali this Nwakali that....lets give our support to the players called up. Nwakali was never in the consideration of 27 players not to talk of the 25 called up. Nwakali can never win the Afcon for us nor make our midfield fearsome...Nwakali is not better than any of the base line midfieldercalled up. I watch his game almost every other weekend am opportune, i have not seen any extra ordinary play he does. He is good but not fantastic...just there.
Meliforme: Nwakali created more scoring chances when compared to Ndidi and Aribo in the last AFCON tourney despite starting only one game. You want to make me believe he doesn't deserve a mention or a slot in. I believe we all mean well for the Super Eagles.
Honestly i cant add any other word to your summation. I just hope that stubborn man do have a total change of heart and play players according to their strength. A midfield of Onyedika, Alhassan and iwobi with a two week training and gelling together will help our fearsome strikeforce....southy football analyst are so much in awe of the personnel we have upfront.
ChrisKels: Ndidi wasn't there in our last two matches and the mugu that called himself our coach still kept Onyedika on the bench while playing Iwobi as a DM. What a joke this man is.
I have no confidence in that chap. He is a big No for me. If that stubborn coach play Uzoho in goal, we will lose the three group stage matches. I pray this will not be an embarrassing and disgraceful Afcon for Nigeria....am really apprensive cos of Uzoho and JP. The two will decide how the Afcon turns out for Nigeria. He stubbornly be in bed with Uzoho den sope Afcon OTILOR.
Joebie: problem is Uzoho can pull nice saves.. but concedes stupid goals. Nwabali, may be a matter of experience.
Dont really think it will be worse than Uzoho practically throwing an aimless cross into his own net or allowing a very weak 35m shot go under him into his net. Uzoho is a very wack goal keeper.
The bolded made me spill my cup of tea... . Lets wait and see...
Danielnino00: If Peseiro insists on playing a two man attacking formation at the AFCON,then somebody need to drum it into his ears that 3-5-2 is our best formation for that... With 4-4-2 we will be disgraced at the tournament.. For God's sake, in this age and time, no top team play 4-4-2 anymore....
The bolded was mischievous not a mistate. Not his first time. That chap will ruin SE AFcon if that stubborn coach start him. I watched his game recently where he replaced the club first choice goal keeper in a match and damn it Uzoho was very pathetic i was very ashamed as a Nigerian.
Lower your expectationon on Nwakali...he has not done anythin spectacular beyond what those on the list as done. He was never in the conversation of the 27 man list...JP does not rate him. Mind you JP is Portuguese.
Tessyy1701: If he's not the decider, the list would have been 27 and Nwakali would have make that list
Remove Kelechi Nwakali....was never in the picture. JP does not rate him at all.
Damioduso1: Kelechi Ihenacho is a major doubt for the afcon tournament come January. He pick a muscler injury during Leicester city training before them game yesterday. The striker injury is still be assessed may likely miss afcon if the injury is serious. Jose Pasiero should start thinking of likely replacement now likely replacement for senior man kelz ahead of Afcon
1. Terem Moffi
2. Kelechi Nwakali
3 Fisayo Tom Dele Bashiru
Between this 3 players Jp go choose to replace Senior man kelz if his injury is serious
Its not a new story bro. Heard same story at the inceptionof MB most especially during his first 6 months in office and where is the country today after 8years of his rule?. So bro, its not a new story by the politician. We do not need rethorics we demand human face development and effort and not imperialism idea.
Tjra: We shall surely get there Obinna. Just be patient. You can't fix the rot of 63 years in 6 months.
It's not as easy as you think. A little more time bro
Only a very deficient coach would play Iwobi as a CM...it will never work. I will not start Aribo as a double DM either but will make use of him if am chasing the game later on. He is very efficient technically with good passing vision but will never start him in Afcon cos the opponent gidigbo and temperature will wear him out.
Marjoribanks: Good option!! Like I said, double DM! I perfer Aribo in Onyedika role cos he is more technical, hardly gives the ball away and has great passing vision (extremely underated). However, Onyedika marks better, runs a lot and can also shoot! We should just stop playing Iwobi in that role!
If JP is not technically deficient SE would sail into the semis...and from there with a little luck we might come home with the Afcon. If i may ask, name your starting attacking players...
mostob: Actually, I went along with the midfield combo he chose. Preferably, I'll also go for Onyedika, Ndidi and Iwobi midfield. That would be a blend of technicality and physicality.
Nice one bro...but i beg to differ. This midfield would not work against sangare, Fofona and kessie. Aribo and Iwobi do not mark. A starting midfield of Ndidi, Onyeadika and Iwobi will balance the game and allow the 3 man attack to function optimally then changes of personnel can take place as the game demands. My opinion.
mostob: Aribo is not similar to Mikel please and you can't play him as a CM. He likes attacking the box with his late runs. In a midfield of Ndidi-Aribo-Iwobi, Aribo will be the most advanced of the trio with Iwobi rather sitting deep.
Nwakali agent full this thread. Agenda must agend...Nations cup is a month to go. If you are advocating for Nwakali you should stand before the mirror and ask yourself what do I want to gain by deceiving Nigerians. A mediocrity is a mediocrity...his mates that won individual awards have established themselves after going through tough times in big clubs. Let Nwakali breath please. Allow him to find his foot and establish his career in a modest club first not relegation upon relegation clubsides that are not better than REMO STARS here. Won't you be ashamed if Nwakali is called up just to satisfy you and Ifeanyi Matthew a 100% better player than him is neglected. Please let us breath all Nwakali agent .
*smile*, brother all you have mentioned is in the public discourse. Do we have upto 5 quality players in the association league mind you i did not say 1 quality player nor Professional league we play in this country?. If we do and you think they can immediately replace the players we parade in SE presently please bring them up..you never mind know we can push their case. I honestly think what we need to change asap is the technical dept. A top quality coach.
yinkeys: This is the lie that’s been spread for over a decade We don’t have the quality. I don’t wish to hear anymore of this We can start by changing the entire goalkeeping department Some individual talents are sidelined because they’re not in good teams When Rohr doesn’t watch NPFL Just watched European games and chose to make his job easy Peseiro wasted peoples time and money going to watch local games. He’s a below par coach with very poor cv Coaches like Siasia or Eguavoen’s cv much better than his Nigeria wish just a cash grab thanks to his connections The politicians at the glass house are out for their pockets Waldrum did a good job at the World Cup Instead of settling welfare issues and sorting out a new contract for him they chose not to. We should have given him time to build on what he started. Thanks to their ego he’s gone. Don’t be surprised when Nigeria don’t qualify for womens Afcon, Olympics or World Cup one day Keshi’s formula of blending home & foreign based is the best if you ask me. Sad Nigeria won’t qualify for the tournament in America NFF’s fault South Africa will not want to slip up seeing the table
I understand you talking from the point of pain. I went thru it too..but brother we do not have quality players in the shambolic association football we play that we call NPFL. The only players i know in that choatic league are few goal keepers...every other outfield player is not a material for the super eagles...if am wrong you can help by listing any above average player in the league that can immediatelydisplace any super eagle player currently position wise. Thank you.
yinkeys: No they cannot beat Lesotho They aren’t willing to give 100% Lesotho or Zimbabwe on a good day will beat Nigeria You think those boys are playing when they hear they’d face Nigeria But NPFL boys will beat Lesotho, Zimbabwe & Benin republic because they’re much more hungry & desire to prove they can They yearn for the opportunity but you guys reserved every spot for foreign based players and goalies 😂
Smile, you belittling the Super Eagle. The world cup qualification is a maranthon. Do not lose hope. We have the personnel to be the best in Africa if we change our orientation and have the believe that we can achieve anything we set out to do. South Africa players are not Messi and Ronaldo.
Ogochuks101: You want to beat SA in Uyo when you couldn't even beat Lesotho. Dey play
When will these kelechi Nwakali talk stop...kelechi these, Kelechi that, kelechi better than players playing in better league and top club...i honestly do not understand you again. If Kelechi is really good like you advocating, dont you think top agencies would have poach him and find top level team for him to exhibit all these manufactured quality you making out for him. To be honest with you, kelechi can not do more than what the players we have in the midfield does now. What we need in Super Eagle is a very top quality coach that reads the game very well....not all these your manufactured unreal submission.
TheGoodJoe: I am talking with respect to the players we have in the team already. I think Onyedika and Iwobi are the best who can play a deep midfield role. However, I believe Kelechi Nwakali is superior in that role and a must for call-up. I agree with you that we need a proper controlling midfielder.
