Honestly, you just highlighted Omeruo's Defensive errors that were capitalised on by our opponents. He used to be a very dependable defender during the early days of his national team sojourn whether in juniors or senior team. Old age, career path, and diminishing returns. Would prefer Awaziem to partner him because Ekong in my own opinion is worse than Omeruo. Awaziem with his ball passing skill will hide and cover up for Omeruo defensive weekness Mujtahida: Omeruo is really a wack defender. We always concede cheap goals when he's in defense Our first match against Zambia enroute Russia 2018, he made us concede
At the WC proper he couldn't close down on Messi. Messi scored
last afcon against Cameron, he couldn't clear the incoming cross even though he was in front of the defender. Cameroon equalized
Still same match, a long ball from midfield, Omeruo couldn't head it out. He was out jumped. Cameron went 2-1 up
In the match against Algeria, he couldn't clear his lines. Algeria scored first.
Omeruo no good abeg |

Guy, do you wish Nigeria football grow beyond this mediocre pedestal lever it is now? I believe you have an ulterior motive....A lover of Naija football will not support Eguavoen on this...do you know how many years and clubside Olusesi and those other mentioned have been playing footie in nigeria league. Thank God the list was submitted before Eguavoen took over.. TheGoodJoe: My respect for Eguavoen just went up.
Eguavoen explains why he shelved the plan for seven NPFL non-roster invitees to train with Eagles
Nigeria's caretaker manager Augustine Eguavoen has explained why he shelved the plan for seven Nigeria Professional Football League non-roster invitees to train with the national team in Abuja ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles legend was in touch with players from Enugu Rangers, Kwara United, Kano Pillars and Rivers United among others, only for him to jettison the idea on second thought.
Eguavoen stressed that it made no sense for the seven domestic-based players to train with the team as their clubs have key matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
None of the NPFL stars stood a chance of being included in the traveling squad to Cameroon this week simply because their names were not on the provisional roster submitted to the Confederation of African Football.
"I still have their names, about seven home based players I wanted to be in the midst, train and then see what happens but my hands were so tied that the league only started on the 19th of December," Eguavoen said to NFF TV.
"I know players have to play in their teams, no time to play any friendly games.
"I had to reach out to Tope (Olusesi) from Rangers, (Musa) Afeez from Kwara United, Uche (Onwuansanya) from Rivers United, couple of players but we have to submit a list, so there is no time to actually give them that opportunity to play friendly games but hopefully they will also still have a chance.
"But it really doesn't make sense to bring them now, deny them from playing for their clubsides midweek, weekend, and then we are on the plane to Cameroon, and to go back home. It doesn't really make sense but their chance will come".
Enyimba's John Noble is the only home-based player included in Nigeria's 28-man squad list for the Africa Cup of Nations and definitely starts the tournament as the fourth choice in the pecking order of goalkeepers.

Lower your expectation and enjoy the Afcon....Dennis will come back to the team for the qualifier in March. PurpleHouse: Trust me, Dennis will regret his action for the rest of his career. No North African team will play in the final. Thus Afcon is for Cote 'd' Ivoire, Senegal or Cameroun taking. This is Central Africa not North Africa histing it. Like Zuby...use to say its not for the "broilers" darkelf: I agree with most of what you said

NFF technical department and their abracadabra again. One incompetent fellow over 200 million people making bias, uninformed, skewed and irrational decision.
Where is the spine of this team going to the Afcon?
A list of 40 members submitted early October by a coach kept away from the public eye uptill today by this incompetent, bias, and irrational NFF until independent journos brought it to the public space.
Nff keep on telling us it was a 37 man list to allow them receive phone calls from agents and players and do their shady deals which eventually brought in 2 outsiders from the original 40 man list.
Dennis name was in the 40 man list but NFF decided to submit invite on different dates for players playing in the same club and fellas are putting the blame on a coach that was laid off 3 weeks to a tournament.
Please when did NFF submit invite and who made the 28 man list? |

The bolded....what do you mean with the statement "it won't be far fetched". Were they not used to replace some original members in the 40 man list for their tactical superiority as acclaimed? So why would the coach place them on the bench? The first match would determine Eguavoen agenda on the 28 man personnel he chose. TheGoodJoe:
If Kelz Nwakali and Ndah ends on the bench, it won't be far fetched. Keep in mind there is little time for thorough preparation and they can come in if the coach wants to make a tactical switch.
For now, Eguavoen made it clear he is working with the team on ground. Therefore, there is a big chance the Rohr regulars will run the show.
However, I am expecting different and seeing Kelz and Ndah breaking in. |

Ebuehi ahead of shehu
Not suprised Ebuehi didn’t make the list because rohr didn’t call him before he was sacked and shehu was even playing ahead of him and even aina at Tim’s
Suprised akpoguma didn’t make the list because Olise ndah came from no where
And in my opinion the strikers there are too many abeg ,they should have dropped 1 striker and use the spot for a midfielder
And finally ,Omeruo shehu musa should have no business in the super eagles for now (My opinion ) |

I doff my hat for this postulation. I have honestly been reading your writings for the past 3 pages and been amused on why you been diplomatically not calling it what it is...but having said the below, i appreciate you now. The truth concerning that list will evovle from the first match. If Eguavoen fail to use the two outsiders in the 40 man list from beginning then something shady happened. Kog45: Honestly I thought 28 man list must emerged from 40 man list but we saw two outsider in Nwakili and Olisa Ndah in the team.....definitely questions must be asked, why the duo making the team at the expense of invited players.....I don't know maybe Eguavoen had press conference after the list came out to defend the inclusion of Nwakili and Olisa.
But from my own point of view,Rohr was sacked for tactical reason and Eguavoen must have studied the team tacticaly prompted listing of Nwakili and Olisa in the team....meaning the two players have significant roles to play cos seeing them on the bench in Afcon will put a question mark on Eguavoen decision.
My man let's wait and see what will happen in Afcon, after then will evaluate Eguavoen tactical decisions. |
