9.8 m/s² is acceleration not speed or velocity. momentum deals directly with velocity not acceleration per say and d momentum of d bullet is wat makes it dangerous...since velocity deals with distance traveled and d bullet will travel a far distance from d gun upwards,, it will still travel dat same distance downwards with almost d same momentum although slightly lesser than d upward momentum

@ at angle 90 the bullet will not reach the roof unless the shooter is standing at least 15 to 20 ft tall as human or from a vantage position as illustrated with my shooter B

there are 2 possibilities here...
First d shooter may have shot at an inclined angle facing d roof of d house,, d house could be a storey building which d OP didn't state,,so at an inclined angle facing d roof of d storey building,, d bullet went in and came out thru d ceiling...

Second possibility is for d bullet to be shot into d sky at a momentum which is mass X velocity,, wen d bullet gets to it's peak,, it will descend back to d ground with almost d same momentum a little lesser than d ascending momentum bkos there will be minimal losses due air friction...so dat bullet is still potentially as dangerous as a bullet shot from d gun

I am a science student like you but i have witness something like this before too so i dont doubt the writer.
In our case we didnt hear a gunshot. We sat in the sitting room and heard the impact of a metal on the tile. It pierce through the zinc, the ceiling and hit the tiled floor with so much force that it gave the tiles a mark.

Till now all of us in the house and the visitor with us does not understand what and how it happened.

Let me try and use english to explain this to to you.
In physics, there is what is called projectile motion, which is the path an object travels when shot into the air, now when the gun is shot into the air from point B at an angre less than 90 degrees, it travels through a semi-parabolic path upwards, the bullet then attain a maximum speed and height at poin A.
