With the look of things the signing of PM may prove inadequate . Kos out, Verm out. That is my fave CB pairing sidelined. Our choices: Per Metersacker , Johan 'Dayokanu' Djourou, Sebastain 'sleekdot' squillaci. I think we are screwed all over |

If TV5 is out for 2 months, that means we are not yet done in the transfer market in the Defensive area.
TV5+JW19=2 months off! Possible replacements: TV5=LK5. JW19=Ramsey. Guy, you don't have to tell any fawking body here your fawking age. I'm like 14 years and I eat Dayokanu and Kongar for breakfast and lunch even though I hear Dayo is 46 and the latter is 2 years Dayo's senior. I hate ppl who are older than me that much |

On a good note, I think Oxlade Chamberlain would be a much better winger than Walcott can ever hope to be
I saw the U21 game vs Israel today and he really played well, He came in as a second half sub and had a hand in all 4 goals.
I would say I am impressed even though the opposition was Israel
Another observation, Henri Lansbbury and Jack Rodwell are rubbish, Dk, you are not using two handles, or are you? As in dayokanu is the only dayokanu, E get reason why i dey ask o. coogar: liverpool have won the champions league and one fa cup during arsenal'scurrent drought! More reason why I expect the media to bash them more often for failing to do as much as qualify for a competition they have won just as they take arsenal on cos we have won the EPL repeatedly and can't seem to win it again. coogar: arsenal generate far more income than liverpool. Well, Liverpool repeatedly outspend Arsenal and still underachieve relative to the Arsenal coogar: manager-wise, arsenal are more stable This is because the Arsenal manager continues prove himself by making sure the club is in europe every season. coogar: bigger stadium too. . . . arsenal charge the highest tickets in europe(league/champions league) Arsenal have done bad deals in the past and short-changed itself in the long run and have to make up for this to keep being up there financially. |

Just asking o,
Why does Arsenal get far more critiquing than Liverpool? If people say Arsenal is a failed club, how then do we describe liverpool? For eons now, it has been a 'target' for liverpool to qualify for elite european footie. Something that has been a floor minimum achievement for Arsenal every season. |

The bar has been raised so high that its really a case of punching way beyond his weight for Wenger to win trophies as regularly as any good manager would have. If Chelsea, Man City didn't have excess money to spend on players, Arsenal would have won at least one trophy biennially with Manure the other contender genuine contender.
And of course Wenger's shrewd natures contributes, but in his shrewdness he is a better manager than Redknapp, Moyes (with due respect to these managers who I personally rate VERY high) |

and enough with the insults please. abeg. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ok, so who will stand up to be counted in the midfield this season? cos imma thinking that Jack wont be useful till december at least. pimpong (c) dont look like he has any finesse in his boots. im a big fan, mind. i think we need that type of player now, built like a brick shytehouse, battering ram, no frills, thunder & blood type that it
the new oldies cannot be trusted to last 4 months fit, esp now that they are at arsenal (can someone tell wenger to go sacrifice to ye gods that he offended ) so. . . . . .
way i see it, i think we need to shift our play pattern back out to the wings like the scummies, that way we dont need a midfield maradona that much. problem is you need folks with very high productivity down both flanks and u need 4 of them 2 subs who are effective like the first choices.
leaves a dilemma, for me arshavin is not part of the team anymore, and he seems to have lost his productive touch too.
walcott. . . sigh, thank God he at least knows where the goal is these days, but you really have to be a gambler to splunk the rent on that boy bringing the A game to the table. plus the guile and intelligence needed (contrast his play with arshavin of blessed memory or now gervinho and u see wat i mean). he is ok i guess, but it does not take much to take him on for decent teams. meaning when its tight, he aint the go-to guy.
Miyachi, Oxencart, unknown quantities. also for me too young to get beyond 4-5 decent games a whole season.
gervinho, large hopes, large faith. hope he #staysonhisfeet. have been praying this guy gets his final ball issue sorted soon, but gaddemitmahn, he is something good down those channels. question to be answered is can he shoulder an entire teams aspirations? we need a marquee player now as we always have.
so the thing is: do we continue midfield play or do we vary it. i say we try to change, hell everyone seems to have us sussed out these days maybe the change of personnel will be the excuse to tweak the play pattern. we don't run games like we used to no more
#ALMUNIA IS STILL AT ARSENAL (i feel sick whenever i remember this.) is vito manonne around now? cos if the regular freakish run starts and almunia gets near the emirates pitch again, im gonna shoot him myself At least 7 consecutive 'peaceful' posts had been made before your 'call for peace' so except you want to indirectly provoke the obvious instigator of insults, the forum is 'peaceful'. As per wing/core midfield attack, I personally think we have already settled for a blend of both. Artera is gonna marshal the midfield while Gerv/ walcott will operate on the flanks. One concern I think of is how RvP and Young will play together if they continue their amazing scoring form as shown in the int'l games. RvP apparently says he will ask AW to let him play a free role where he thinks he bags more goals from, so does that mean he will play behind Young? Can we have those two play like that and still contain wingers? ok, so who will stand up to be counted in the midfield this season? cos imma thinking that Jack wont be useful till december at least. pimpong (c) dont look like he has any finesse in his boots. im a big fan, mind. i think we need that type of player now, built like a brick shytehouse, battering ram, no frills, thunder & blood type that it the new oldies cannot be trusted to last 4 months fit, esp now that they are at arsenal (can someone tell wenger to go sacrifice to ye gods that he offended ) so. . . . . . way i see it, i think we need to shift our play pattern back out to the wings like the scummies, that way we dont need a midfield maradona that much. problem is you need folks with very high productivity down both flanks and u need 4 of them 2 subs who are effective like the first choices. leaves a dilemma, for me arshavin is not part of the team anymore, and he seems to have lost his productive touch too. walcott. . . sigh, thank God he at least knows where the goal is these days, but you really have to be a gambler to splunk the rent on that boy bringing the A game to the table. plus the guile and intelligence needed (contrast his play with arshavin of blessed memory or now gervinho and u see wat i mean). he is ok i guess, but it does not take much to take him on for decent teams. meaning when its tight, he aint the go-to guy. No be their fault.
I see things have not improved on the injury front. Sad to see Jack off till October. We'l have to make do with Benayoun, Arteta, Ramsey, Rosicky, Coquelin and Frimpong. Wow!
I pray we go through the international break without any set back. It will be nice to see what our team will look like against Swansea.
Meanwhile @dudu I hope you've noticed that we've sold off Sunu to Lorient? Its sad that strikers and defenders from our youth team aren't considered good enough for our first team. I hope Afobe makes it though, same with the guy from Gillingham - Freeman. Rhys murphy is another potential IMO but he's not had it good on the injury front and he is now at an age where he needs to play for the first team. Karma is some biatch. I won't be surprised if Fab's niggling hamstring injury surfaces. Not that I don't wish Fab well tho, but for them to come out and say this, they are still bent on making Arsenal look stewpid after all these days and that is so unprofessional. |

Coo/Sharon also belittled RvP in similar fashion saying RvP isn't world class, cant score 20 goals and even blasphemed by saying Imbertov is better than RvP. RvP went on to do that in half a season. Coo shouldn't be taken seriously please

i won't argue with a dork like you. . . . . .your footie knowledge is restricted to what you read on nairaland and bbc website. but as an assignment, google those names and do a research on them. . . . . . better still, watch the last friendly between denmark and england and watch how christian eriksen reduced wilshere in the eyes of the world. when the british media were going gaga over wilshere playing in barcelona, guardiola told them to hush that he has got hundreds of players in his academy better than wilshere. . . . . then he promoted thiago and thiago is miles better than cesc(a player who wilshere sees as his god).

coogar: i am willing to bet on that with anyone on this forum. united will win the league over and over again this season. debarring fergie kicking the bucket, united will finish at least 6 points ahead of the runner-up. people underestimate the squad fergie has assembled. united have 2 different teams capable of finishing as champions in the league.
de gea/lindegaard/kusczack
rafael/fabio/smalling rio/smalling/evans vidic/evans/jones evra/fabio/evans
nani/valencia/js park fletcher/cleverley/carrick/pogba anderson/giggs/gibson/morrison young/js park/giggs
rooney/welbeck/diouf berbatov/chicharito/owen
beating arsenal 8-2 won't be the only humiliation lined up this season for united's rivals. more humiliations would be dished out. others should have capitalized when united were burdened with the debt. now, the net debt keeps reducing and it's freeing funds for fergie to assemble a super squad. the league's golden boot winner last season hasn't really featured and 80% of the starters of last season's european final have been warming the bench.
it's united's title. others should take their domestic cup campaign seriously. If it were just a matter of possible permutations 'capable of finishing as champions', Man City would get a better look-in at the rpl title than Manure. I agree that makes Manure perennial champions is Ferguson and nothing more. If Ferguson managed City since the entrance of their sugar daddies, they would have won the Epl at least twice. Not trying to be pessimistic, our chances of winning the epl is slim. We now have a big squad but it will take sometime for them to reach the maximum of their potential as a unit. If anything, I say we are better suited to 'spring a surprise' than we were in the past few seasons |

duduspace: @4ller Certain signings are made for certain reasons, nationality being an important one. You can't make a call on OX for now considering the way Theo has come back to haunt some of us. Having an English core is important and a call has to be made in getting OX now at that price or getting him for much more and getting trumped by Manure when it becomes an highest bidder issue after he becomes better known as we did with both Smalling and Jones. If Theo made it with us then I can assure you that boy will be worth 25m pretty soon. How much do you think Theo would go for if we ever made him available for transfer? It is also not true that our players earn oversized salaries, the wage bill differential between us and the top 3 is there for a reason and I pointed out that the difference in wage bill between us and Manure would comfortably pay the wages of 4 players earning the same as our highest earner in Arshavin. In the last year I think we were also overtaken by Liverpool.
I'll burst a few bubbles with the predictions thingie, I personally still wouldn't stick my neck out for a trophy this season, next season maybe when I see how these boys come along (Miyaichi, OX, Jekinson et al) they are the new generation and most of these buys like Arteta, Benayoun and Santos are still stop gaps in my opinion Mertesacker aside who I always believed we would buy, the big failures in Arsenal as we all saw last season IMO were people like Arshavin and Rosicky and they are the ones being supplanted as Arsene will still find a way to play those youngsters. If Nasri and Cesc hadnt left, we would never have bought Arteta and Benayoun.
On the whole, I doubt that we've improved over last season and the competition has not been static, I am certain we will make top 4 as usual as that is a given and I wouldn't expect us to collapse if we come as close as we did last season. Right now for Arsenal top 4 is the primary target and anything more is a bonus, that is the reality of things and we are still banking on youth because our squad depth is still largely filled with youth hopefully on the edge of greatness, I will find time to make an analysis of an age breakdown of the squad pretty soon.
The critical players that will determine Arsenal's season are RVP, Gervinho, Arteta, Wilshere, Szczesny and TV5. If 5 of those are able to give us at least 35+ games each, I'll be very optimistic indeed particularly if another Wilshere emerges this season. Jeez Christ! Why does nobody ever seem to recognize Bacary Sagna? |
