3. Details of my day to day itinerary as you rightly stated.

As stated by the ECO each application is considered on its individual merit.

Will also want to know why the ECO mentioned my bank balance was 9 months of my income.?

He divided your closing balance by your monthly Salary. It shows you have unexplained opening balance and/or unexplained additional income into same bank statement which you are receiving monthly salary.

..."as you have stated in written statement you submitted". You triggered the refusal with a statement without backup. You know what you said and what the ECO saw.

Okay, thanks please don’t say my questions are too much, I know I have to wait for their final decision but I’m asking questions, I might be lucky they request account statements reprint or appealing in case of refusal.

I just discovered right now that I have a bank statement I requested on the 21st of Nov, showing my ledger balance and bank statements of the required amount for proof of funds(from October 21st to November 21st). Can I still go ahead and send that if they asked for reprint of bank statements? I applied for visa on the 25th of Nov so the 31 days before visa application still goes.

Funds was pulled out on the 22nd of November, incase I need to present an up-to-date bank statements carrying my present funds, I am thinking of putting in money tomorrow then print out the statement from like 10th of November to the present which I believe it should not pass 22nd of this month to get a mail from them on their decision which would show opening balance and present balance of the required funds, I’m hoping I get an email before they go for break on the 23rd because that’d be exactly 2 weeks that I did my biometrics.

Please don’t be too harsh on me, a lot has been put into this and I want to make sure this silly mistakes don’t get me screwed. It’s 12:21 am here and I’m finding it difficult to sleep.

if they are going to request for Bank statement, They will specify the dates they want themselves not your own wish. So I think.

Hello house, I have been having sleepless nights since 2 days now after discovering that the bank statement I uploaded for proof of funds is also showing my ledger balance (present bank balance).

I requested for the statement after I have completed my 28 days proof of fund and have pulled out the funds and it’s now showing the balance of the account on the day I requested for statement from my bank to upload.

I’m so scared, although the statement I presented is okay with proof of fund policies (showing the required balance was running in my account throughout that 28 days) but I’m scared my current bank account balance won’t spoil things for me.


To remedy the situation at hand, I’m thinking I should run another proof of funds and leave it so Incase they asked me to reprint the statement just like in some cases I have seen so it would show current account balance as the ledger(new pof) while requesting for a new statement of account.

I’m just really worried!

Applying as a dependent and I did my biometric on Friday 9th Dec and application has presently being received by DMC

if you apply under a Visa category that requires meeting some specific funds and the current balance doesn't show you are still capable of funding, it will definitely be refused on that ground.

Please I need help regarding the refusal letter below. I am the sponsor, I live and work in the UK . I am trying to sponsor my guardian whom I call my adopted mother because I have lived with her since I wan three years old. I attached pictures of us together when I was young like 7 years and other pictures with her. The visa has been refused Based on her finances as she submitted a statement of 100k and I had submitted my one statement of over £10k pounds. Would it be helpful if I transfer like 1.2m to her as part of her travel expenses??

For her finance we stated she was employed and gets money from children and we used her 6 month statement to arrive at the annual statement and explained in the application

You state you intend to travel to the UK for 10 days to visit your adoptive son.
You state you are unemployed, and you receive a regular income of 2m NGN (3,772.44 GBP).

In support of this you have provided a bank statement from Bank LTD, between the dates 01 and the 11/2022. However, the bank statement does not reflect what you have stated on your application. For example, there have also been other large amounts of deposits from unknown sources. For example, on the 08/2022, a sum of 200,000 NGN (368.762 GBP) was deposited into this account. In view of this I am not satisfied that these funds are available for your use and that your financial circumstances are as claimed. The information provided does not demonstrate the relationship with your sponsor, other than a letter, there is no connection, contact or communication. you said you are unemployed, that has already undermine your application if you are still within the working age range. If you ain't employed, it's either you are self-employed or receiving income from Family. Abi what generates you 2M yearly? There should also be receipt or document to justify the sources with explanation. And if someone is sponsoring you, you should also demonstrate your closeness, with recent chats and conversations, old and recent pictures.

Yes. Someone answered you yesterday correctly. It takes 28days after cancelation. If you didn't get it automatically within 28days, then you need to send in complaints on the refund. You will surely get a refund if you haven't already done biometrics, i.e your application hasn't begin the review journey.

Everyone has contributed positively. If you want to explain an Opening balance. Since you employed receiving salary, you will definitely have payslips prior to the starting month of the financial bank statement. You need to include at least 3months and more to justify the origin of the funds with cover note. it's not compulsory but advisable.

All that enters the account is just the salary and have been working with the company since 2019... Why do i need to explain an opening balance of 6months statement? I have never made a mistake of given the account to anyone... its basically for salary. The only thing is that i withdraw funds from the account regularly... in 100k n 200k cos i have an ongoing project that requires me paying the laborers.

you felt why do you need to explain but became a reason for refusal, previous payslips overtime and a cover note would have solved it. The reason you need to explain everything is due to any area of concern the ECO might pick, it helps both parties understand each other. Some ECO skips some issues while some capitalize on it.

The opening balance and/or the other inflows aside the usual salary wasn't explained by the applicant. And the outflow too is not of same range as stated on the application. Your disposable income is 1.8m for 6months after monthly expenditure as stated. So having 3m is showing either the opening balance wasn't explained or the applicant is receiving other income that wasn't explained.

Thank you, the money paid into my account her company errand, my closing balance was 1.8 and no money was retained that came in sir only my salaries... i was not receiving any other income like you think. I started with 1.5 sumthing as opening bal. And i made a note to that. Thanks for the input

probably your explanation was overlooked because the so called errands was the reason for the refusal. If you are still receiving such income into the account you are submitting, hopefully the next ECO acknowledge your explanation, else it's still thesame doubt and refusal reasons.

I thought i posted it, please i am more considered a out the questions earlier if i should reapply immediately, will i be submitting previous bank statement and other receipts. Please regarding the refusal every documents and every single amount was explained in my bank explanation leter, i mean every single dime. And my zenith bank is my saving account, expenditure account and salary account. Everything was explained.

Hi. If your yearly income is 2.4m, then you are receiving other income you haven't declared. Within 6months, it should be 1.2m following your fixed salary income. You definitely receiving steady numerous incomes asides salary. The 150k was just one out of it. It's either you have other business or you are receiving income from Family.

you are advised not to book anything until you have received your passport. Your main aim is to get through to the DMC. Message the Sheffield student Visa Team and try paid mail. Your query has been sent to the DMC so they will surely get back to you. If you want specific timeframe, then send paid mail, it's 15working days after escalation.

if you have closing balance of 1.8m, why did you declared no savings? The 1.8m is not yours or accessible? If you will be provided with accomodations, then accomodations and feeding should be out of your budget. If your income for a month is £390 after monthly expenses, then Travel expense of £1200 is much for you against your income, you can cut it down since you are receiving support. The refusal is based on the £1200 (Personal cost). If ties is the major issue, it will be specific such as assets, Property, dependent or wide family range.

Good afternoon everyone, appreciate the work here. A friend wants to travel to the UK on a visit visa but he's been denied before. Went through his previous refusal letter and I think he's been banned. Though he applied again in 2017 and was refused but the 2015 refusal letter caught my attention. Can he still apply and/or what can he do better now? I have attached a copy...

he had right of appeal but since they were right, he didn't bother appealing but decided to reapply 2017 as if there would be a pardon or a waiver. Appeal could have worked if they were wrong. 2025 is stated on the letter. More hope after that date.

7. Wife TLS Services: Self service, Courier and submitted passport

9. Wife Status: Receive Passport with 2 years visitor visa on 01/11/2022
10. Husband Status: Yet to receive call/email to submit passport to TLS.
Question: Will I get an email to send my passport or just a phone call for the visa vignette?

he will have to send paid mail to see if decision has been made. If yes without refusal, he has to print out the mail and go to TLS to submit his passport. They rarely request for passport on time.

Try sending complaints. Escalate a query through paid mail. And message the Sheffield student Visa section. Their mail will be at the student Visa thread or rather ask there. Use every available options to get quick response.

I made a mistake I didn't collect n resubmitt my passport earlier after my first refusal..
I collected my passport n resubmitt it on 14th October n till now no response frm dem,
I went to check on 28th last week n was tod is nt ready for collection...
Tomorrow wil make it 12 working days... Ar u saying I shud still wait for dia mail n call for collection or wat to do?.....

how did you discover it was backdated? You already saw Visa on your passport?

don't bother going. It still not yet ready. Contact the department you have talks with and let them act right. Until then. You just have to be patient. Unless you want to withdraw your passport without Visa.

You have to escalate through the Administrative review email and paid mail that your passport is at the VAC awaiting the result of the last mail, the relevant department Will continue from where they stopped and issue the visa.

So I have a special case I need help with.

My sister and I went to visit my uncle, my dad's immediate brother, through a US visiting visa in 2014. While being with him, we got to spend time talking and narrating about personal experiences we had while in Nigeria. Finding out that some of the personal experiences were unpleasant and terrifying, he was pissed and unsettled by how unsafe things were while in Nigeria, so he filed for Asylum for my sister and me. We were then granted Asylum in 2015.

During our stay with him and his wife, we've had numerous misunderstandings and disputes, mostly orchestrated by his wife and her mom, to inflict pain by establishing subtle acts of segregation and physical abuse. The most notable resulting event of this was the visitation of Child's Protective Services (CPS), who my sister's school superintendent contacted because my uncle's wife threatened my sister that she wouldn't go to school anymore and ordered her to report to the school that she wouldn't be coming anymore.

After the visit of CPS to the house, things started getting better — His wife started being less malicious. Then a day came when my uncle and his wife called us to the room to have a short talk; where my uncle asked my sister and me where we'd like to go for vacation between Ethiopia or Nigeria (this was the summer of 2016). Of course, we selected Ethiopia — One because we haven't been to Ethiopia before, and it would be a worthy experience. Two, even though we hadn't set eyes on our mom for almost two years, we knew we were Asylees and weren't supposed to return to your country unless you want to forfeit your Asylum.

On the trip to Ethiopia, we had two stops — One at Frankfurt airport, and the second in Nigeria, 2016. Long story short, he dropped us in Nigeria with our mom and went back to the US. Plus, he held back our Asylum papers till this date. At the time, we were minors and weren't able to do anything about it — My mom went to the US embassy concerning this issue, but unfortunately, no worthwhile outcome came from it.

We've applied for FOIA to get an idea of my status in the US. Records showed that my uncle wrote to USCIS stating that he returned us back to our mom and that Nigeria is safe.

The reply from USCIS says that they won't be terminating our status “since subjects appear to be out of the country” and should “notify the Asylum office in the event the subjects return to the United States and apply for any other immigration benefits”.

The big question now is how do we return to the US? since my uncle has all the original documents with him.

We have tried contacting multiple immigration lawyers but have not been able to get any help — We paid some and got no feedback as well.

He helped you in falsifying claim, you had misunderstanding and you decided to seek rightful law against him, and he withdrew his help. There's no verifiable reason to still continue the claim as it is.

Below is a Timeline to hold on to. Until the Court has heard it and allowed the appeal, or UKVI decides to reconsider and advise the relevant department to issue entry clearance. I don't think you have business with UKVI but the court deciding. That's the little I know.

you can visit the TLS/VAC where you did the Biometrics on how to temporarily withdraw your passport for urgent use, and will return it back as soon as you are done with the urgent need of it. No implications, if your application hasn't been decided after the urgent need of your passport, you must return the passport also if your application application has been decided without rejection letter, you must return the passport to receive the decision.

I went to TLS for my passport collection after I got a mail of successful visa application...
I opened my passport n dere was no visa stamp on it, I went back to TLS n complain abt it I was tod it was because I didn't collect my passport back wen I was first refused and before applying for administrative review...
I have submitted back my passport and attached d print out of d nvisa approval mail..
D questions is will I get my passport stamp wit visa within a week?

I don't know if the usual contact centre works on administrative review. Don't fold arms and be awaiting visa because our VAC are not active enough to chase a response from the administrative review DMC. You have to escalate through the Administrative review email and paid mail that your passport is at the VAC awaiting the result of the last mail, the relevant department Will continue from where they stopped and issue the visa. Less than a month Sha at maximum.

it takes within 10 working days. if it has passed, then you can recontact them for follow-up.
