Who is will pay them €700m? Only a fool will. Let them go to court or FIFA. If Messi wanted to leave mid season they will cry foul, he stayed till end of season they bring up issues. He will not walk free bt he definitely won’t be paying no €700m. And he will walk. It’s obvious his loyalty this far means nothing to them.
He would have made the request in June and not necessarily leave at that time when the season was still on. Ofcourse he will walk... after his contract expires by next year!
I'm also sure there are other clauses that would have made it impossible for him to walk free even if he did make the request in June sef... it is him that'll have to go to court to request his freedom. No club will be foolish enough to sign him while he still has a contract running.

The club wants to make it dirty that’s their business. Messi shudnt be forced to stay. He’s not leaving mid season bt at the end of last season. Either ways they will sort it out.
No matter how messy it will get, there's no way in this world that he will walk away free while his contract is still running.
Do you have the slightest idea of what €700million can do for a team?
I'm sure Barcelona won't mind not winning anything for the next three years after receiving that amount of money.
No matter your passion, keep it in mind that professional football is still show-BUSINESS!

He is free to leave in june is a joke. His contract is seasonal so he can’t leave.

Was it also Messi who caused the pandemic or extended the league? Why shud he carry the brunt and not the club?

It’s either a gentleman’s agreement is met based on both party agreeing or he walks via other means available.

It is absolutely wrong for the club to activate a new contract clause without his consultation or agreement b4 end of season considering the pandemic also. It’s wrong
Joke or no joke, the club has said the clause should have been activated in June... that's what was signed in the contract. And no, there's no new contract anywhere, it is the same one that's still running.

Laliga also supports the club so, you can choose to escort him to the fifa court of arbitration if you're so inclined and passionate about the matter grin grin

There is a claim to wait for the end of season out of respect or agreement based on delays in the league due to the pandemic. This is very normal for sm1 of Messi’s status.

If the club can not honor that they don’t deserve his loyalty and understanding either. Not everyone will activate their clauses b4 June definitely unless preplanned for sm obvious reason.

Messi reserves the right to leave based on the league extention.
I'm a Messi fan o... I think he is phenomenal on the ball and all that but on this issue, he is playing it wrong!
Who anticipated a pandemic?
Was is Barcelona that extended the league?
Has his wages not been paid all these while up till this moment?
He is free to leave at the end of June whether the league has finished or not but cannot leave now in August - for free.

It is what is contained in the contract that counts... not feelings.

Let Messi calm down and not ruin his legacy.

jaxxy:

Contracted ended with end of season. He had and still has no plans to stay. Corona virus delayed the season so his contract is automatically affected and delayed by it also.

How hard is that for barca to understand

So he shud cheat himself or a proper agreement?? Cos people won’t respect logical reasoning
Whose fault is that?
As long as he didn't activate that clause in June, Barcelona has a proper claim
Those that did something about their contracts in June were fools abi?
Or will Messi be asking for transfer if Barca had won the Champions League?

Unceremonious exit isn't the way of true legends.
The statues, future honours and accolades from Barca are now in jeopardy...

Besides, it is not about how he feels but what his contract contains that will triumph eventually

Angelfrost:

While I second the fact that Messi should have respected the terms of his contract, as any gentleman ought to, still it is within his right and choice to desire a transition...

Barcelona is clearly not prepared to go back to the quality Messi is used to, at least not anytime soon.

I believe a middle ground can be reached by both parties without all this media drama! It's a matter of renegotiating terms of contract dissolution. Trying to force an unhappy player to play on will backfire on them.

The main culprits here are Bartomeu and his gang of clueless and shortsighted individuals... Let Messi go, and allow Koeman get to work.
What stops Messi from seeing out his contract with less than a year to go?
It isn't easy to let your cash- cow go just like that. However, you must understand that Messi wasn't playing for cheap - he wasn't doing Barcelona any special favour. He is the highest paid footballer in the world and he should respect his contract if he is honourable.

HE WONT BE THE FIRST PLAYER TO PAY HIS WAY OUT IF HE IS THAT PISSED - he wants to walk away free instead which is the reason for all these drama!

He played with Barcelona this past season without any major legal or administrative issue, yet they still didn't win anything... So?
Barcelona wont be adamant if they didn't have the contract terms on their side.

If you were Bartomeu, will you be the guy that let your club's greatest player go - for free while an existing contract is still valid?

Nope, but we can give each other money
You admit that you don't give him money (you're not sponsoring him in anyway) but the once or twice you did spend your money on your relationship, you highlighted it and made your one-sided story all about it.
I take this your story with a big pinch of salt. Women are always the victim especially when the man starts struggling (even for a short while - all he has done and built prior becomes invalid).
When he gave you money to cook he was happy and showered you with accolades which was different when you were feeling like madam ordering him to buy your food from outside because you are paying for it. The money you were using to buy outside could have been used to stuff the house and make home meals since that is what you love and what makes him happy obviously. But, nah... his money is for both of you and yours is for you alone.
You didn't tell us how he was giving you and sustaining the relationship for the past five years o. But, because you have now and he doesn't, you feel you are too good for him (you're most likely not to admit this though).

Ofcourse, you will not tell us your attitude and likely disrespectfulness towards him that irks him because this is your story and you want a rich guy that'll be spoiling you. THERE IS NO WAY HE COULD HAVE RANTED OUT OF FRUSTRATION and not highlight some cold truths that in honesty puts the blame on you (which you conveniently left out of this story or - resorted to selective attention to ignore)

Sister, you already know what you will do. Please, do it quickly and let the young man find someone that can be truly supportive without making him feel inadequate about it.

* A cold spoon can help remove a pacifier.
* Put toothpaste on a pimple and it will disappear overnight.
* Do you want to get rid of bad breath? Brushing your teeth is important, but it is more important to brush your tongue. That's where bad breath starts.

* Too much stress literally causes the human brain to temporarily freeze and shut down.

* Desperate for money? NASA will pay $ 15,000 to anyone who is willing to sit in bed for 87 days to investigate the effects of zero gravity.
* At "Starbucks," tell the cashier that you are visiting from Canada. They will give you a free coffee as part of their program to lead Canadians to prefer them over “Tim Hortons”.
* Download the free “Apple” app, even when you don't need it. You can delete it and download it again in "Recently purchased" whenever you want.

* Did you run out of candles? A crayon can give you light for 30 minutes.
* Are you going to buy jewelry? Always ask for a discount. They will usually give you a good one.

* If you don't ask for something, you won't get it. You can get more than you think out of life just by asking.
* Never use your favorite songs as an alarm. You will end up hating them.
* If you put your fingers in cold water after painting your nails, the paint will dry in an instant.
* Any phone, in service or not, will dial 911.
* Buy a flannel from "Yelp" and use it in restaurants, they will serve you better.
* Restaurants should give you free water. A good tip to know when you're jogging in hot weather.
* Don't spend money on things, invest them in experiences. You will enjoy life more.
* Just say no. Never accept offers of help from strangers (Can I bring their bags?). This was the favorite trap of serial killers like Ted Bundy. If something feels wrong, run screaming. If you can't run, you will have to fight.
* Do not allow strangers to enter your home. Never. Even if she is a little girl asking you to use your phone to call her father because her mother is on the street bleeding to death. Call 911 for her. Otherwise, when you open the door, 3 mutants will enter and the invasion will begin.
* Remember to call your bank before you go on a trip to make sure your card is authorized for that destination. This prevents you from being reported for any kind of suspicious activity.

Tips for relationships:
* Humor will save you when you have doubts about how to answer something.
* Take your time when replying by message. Edit them, reread them, and then send them. Time is in your favor.
* Don't ask two questions in the same message.
* Avoid texting drunk or late at night.
* Don't be so serious by message. Keep the conversation fun and playful.
* Don't be upset if he / she doesn't respond. You don't know what kind of day is going on. Their reasons for not responding may have nothing to do with you.
* Don't act like that person is the most important thing in this world.
* If they don't respond, wait a couple of days and ask an interesting question.
Stashed. Nice tips OP
