@ Dis Guy: Did I hear you say "like they are telling secondary school stories". lol cry

There are even well developed news scripts that are very easy to modify and implement that would have made a great difference. And for the images, I think they are as important as the text. What about concepts like photo-news (collection of well shot photos that clearly illustrate the news without much texts).

I mean a look at cnn, bbc, yahoo news, etc should even a good reference point. I hope something is done.
I agree with this point but they should not be the main page, they are very useful for sports events like the Nigerian Football league i know the pitches are not exactly nice to look at we just hope they can afford to pay photo(sports) journalists
Or political events like elections and rallies
Even the never ending queues in our banks and ATMs

Sunday's football pictures

I need to catch my breath with that composition of yours. So whats your point? I will rather say its terrorizing the Igbos on the Internet. Not good!
You've turned it upside down

Since they are a very opportunistic people and know that it is wrong to treat people as a class, in stereotypes, they would be the first to say that what I did is wrong. They would even threaten law suits, to manipulate the law courts. Let them try; I have in storage the negative statements they made about Hausas, Yorubas etc to counter their self serving threats of frivolous law suits. They put other people down, and those feel insulted and angry at them and some attack them and then they turn around and play innocent victims that ugly others attack. No, sir, they stimulate the attacks on them by their arrogance and their childishness of saying denigrating things about their neighbors. Like fools they expect those they verbally abuse not to fight back, to take it and smile. As It were their foolish god gave them the right to abuse other people and for those people to accept been abused. No, those derogated tend to feel degraded and fight back.
looking through nairaland especially the culture board, would you agree with this?

I think they are not that bad as in the main ones- I read punch and guardian mainly but sometimes visit businessday and vanguard

Most serious newspapers don't worry too much about images, they focus more on the content

I just hope they improve on their reporting, some of the reporters write like they are telling secondary school stories they use the same phrase and clichés all the time

In the new year the newspapers should increase the interactivity with online polls, comments and opinions

it seems they don't have full online reporters, they have to wait for the next day to write about a breaking news
when something happens in Lagos now you'll probably see it first on the BBC before you read it on a Nigeria newspaper

And they should patronise Nigeria football league more
grin

Na u fall mugu ,why do you send the iteems to him without cash at hands?sorry oooo
actually she didn't fall for it, she incurred some charges though as the item was listed as buy-it-now
and the main point of selling on ebay is to make it easy for trustworthy people to buy and sell
just click and go, you don't have to worry or cross check a thousand times before you send your items
I wonder why people make very simple things complicated

this is a good suggestion though

kmcutez:
naijacutee,
You can set up your auction with buy it now and immediate payment required. This ensures that anyone buying your item will also pay for it through paypal at the same time. You can also change your settings in your ebay account to deny bids from countries which you do not want to ship to. Make sure you also set your paypal account to accept payments from confirmed addresses only. This gives you seller protection from paypal in case of a credit card charge back.
The main issue now is not how many juju each tribe has. But the issue of the most dangerous and wicked JuJu of all black race which is Ijebu JuJu. If you doubt me, when entering Ijebu people house just look up at the door, first thing you will see is JuJu hanging at the door.
Ijebu Industrious = Juju Industrious
hanging a stuffs on their door and pounding unborn babies straight from the mother's womb= pure wickedness to me!!

the number of okija people in ijebuland is in the millions

there so many Igbo/Ibo tribalist on this site, they actually don't see anything wrong with what they type
but when others start their own you na go carry nose up like aja adugbo grin

Five US citizen claim Asylum in the UK

Five US citizens are living off benefits in Britain as they try to claim asylum.

The extraordinary situation was revealed by a whistleblower today who claims it shows just what a easy target the UK has become.

Rory Clarke, 34, says he believes only five per cent of asylum seekers are genuine. But those waiting for applications to be processed get immediate free healthcare, free accommodation and £35 a week in benefits.

And when applications are turned down - the five Americans will almost certainly be rejected - they can immediately ask for legal aid to fight their appeal.

Mr Clarke says he was so shocked by abuses of the system that he resigned from his job at the Government's National Asylum Support Service.

He said: "Britain is seen as such a soft touch that poor people from countries such as America are even coming here now.

"A couple of years ago I met two black guys from the States who were over here because they thought they could get a better standard of living. One was from Ohio and the other from Kansas.

"They claimed asylum because they said they were racially discriminated against at home. But they freely admitted they were here for the healthcare and accommodation. It is an absolute joke. They could have been there for up to five years before their application was processed."

I check out both links @poster and @kobojunkie---look great, but have you both thought about possible to add 3 major Nigerian languages: Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo to online translation conveying the message to bring all Nigerians attention?

Because of Nigerian complex inferiority and illiteracy very highly. For me, i cannot use audio archives that ought either to add the closed captioning or translate into written transcripts for the hearing impaired like me.
i think many nigerians cant read their own language, they might be able to speak it though

an illiterate person is someone who is unable to read or write, so irrespective of the language they still cant read

^^ same could be said about most of the top banks, awards, high fliers, visionaries, sophisticated, most sound, most influential.

I doubt the any major findings will be revealed to the public it will probably be dealt with 'inside' th NSE,CBN and co have worked so hard this year especially to lure foreign investors- I don't think they'll readily expose anything major on- the other hand they might just to show they are not forming wink
