Romance › Re: Who Sits In Front: Your Girlfriend Or Bestfriend? by DisGuy: 10:01pm On Jan 09, 2008
As long as I get to my destination grin

the girl is always going to be there anyway, doesn't matter really.
There are some cases where you will require the person with SAT-NAV Brain to seat in front

culture demands we(man n wife) treat our 'visitors'(friends and others) with respect wink

girls that cries over this are really shallow, talkative and probably too materialistic!

Sports › Re: Tickets For Nationc Cup Matches by DisGuy: 3:50am On Jan 09, 2008
For local individuals who would be purchasing tickets on the open market, tickets can be bought from the Ghana Post Company Branches and Ghana Commercial Bank Branches at Stadia while people based outside, thus open market abroad, can secure tickets through Ghana Missions via the internet.

Participating countries and non-participating nations under the CAF umbrella can secure tickets through their various FA’s.

The organizing committee has stated that match tickets would be sold in advance.

Also the LOC says there would no ticket sales at the stadia on match days except in exceptional circumstances and when stadia sales are inevitable; ticket sales will end 2 hours before the start of a match.

Politics › Re: Fg Plans 5% Tax For Road Maintenance by DisGuy: 2:38am On Jan 09, 2008
If you want better infrastructure you actually have to pay for it, the govt is not a money printing machine wink

I think there's a correlatation between tax and development

Aleksys:
The federal government with its ceaseless war on the middleclass is mind boggling. It was like yesterday in a kind of policy somersault that OBJ cancelled all the toll gates and replace it with fuel price hike. Like Oliver Twist, the FG again is asking for another hike in fuel prices. It is only in this country that price of commodities only goes up and never down no matter what. I am sick and tired of this unresponsive government that we always troop out to vote for only to turn around to become our enemy as soon as they are sworn in. What is wrong with the toll gates in the first place? What happened to all the money made from the toll gates before they were eventually closed? Recently New York and New Jersey MTA declared that almost $1million dollar is made monthly at the Holland Tunnel toll gate. That money is used judiciously to maintain the tunnel. With hundred of thousands of vehicle passing through the toll gate everyday, why should a government in its right senses decide to close the toll gates only to hike the price of petroleum products. I think the time has come for the middle class in this country to come together and seize the running of this nation from this hawks. This so called leaders as we have today is only good at mortgaging the future of our children and the time to act is NOW.
money made from the tunnel is used to maintain THE TUNNEL wink

UK: money made from road tax is used to build and maintain roads wink

the cost of living in most developed countries is high mainly because those people are paying for better services and infrastructure

fuel and food should naturally be some of the less expensive things in Nigeria to be honest

I don't think we should be moved by the euphoria of the moment. because the truth is we are not fighting corruption.

alam got a plead bargain, ribadu got his ass kicked for daring to arrest ibori. under the excuse of rule of law, odili, kalu &co are almost getting away with madness.
with all these I dare say that igbenedions "wanted" declaration is only an unfolding drama.

enjoy it
huh
plea bargain I think is common around the world, might not be 100% but I think some cases will drag on forever without this
Ribadu got kicked for Ibori? yeaa riiiiiiiiiight
Politics › Re: EFCC Declares Igbinedion Wanted! by DisGuy: 2:23am On Jan 09, 2008
I just dont get it undecided

what exactly do you guys want?
first you cry they are roaming free. . .
then when they get arrested you still say its a gimmick
when they are arraigned you actually blame the EFCC
for not giving them longer sentences or treating them like kings in prison

what do you want exactly?
Do you want them to be shot point blank without trial
before you believe they are actually doing something?

Scatta
why don't you hire people on a part time basis or put them on shift work on rota

first group work 6.30am-12am,
next group can work 12pm-6pm

change the group every week, 2weeks or monthly
arrange a cab to get the early shift group to work if they have a problem getting in on time (it will be a good idea to hire people living nearby)
Hire people on call, in case some one didn't turn up you have someone ready
give them proper uniform to make them belong
Pay them more
roll up your sleeves get the broom and mop do the work like you are one of them-this way they wont see you as just bossing them about, you can actually do it yourself too! you wont be doing this often

I think you are asking for a juju show down, just let my male-chicken arrive, you will feel 'it' very soon grin

how do you know its the most dangerous JuJU of the black race?
is it because they are very industrious and you are using yours solely for individual wealth and chieftaincy titles?
do you know the reason why there are so many okija people in yorubaland? we all know they are running from their villagers juju, you notice they never progress till they enter the safer juju territories in yorubaland wink
they go home to celebrate it though grin

Okija juju = the peoples curse!
Islam › Re: Muslims: What Did You Learn In Islam Recently? by DisGuy: 4:05pm On Jan 07, 2008
I'll advise you to say ANY prayer you know or the first one that comes to you and take the person to hospital as fast as possible

is it epilepsy or something else? If it is google ways to care for people with it

If someone has a seizure

It would be helpful for friends and family to know what to do if you have a seizure.

If someone has a tonic-clonic seizure where they lose consciousness and have fits, remember to keep calm and check the time to monitor how long the seizure lasts. Protect them from injury by doing the following:

* ask onlookers to keep back
* loosen clothing or jewellery around their neck
* cushion their head
* move away anything that could cause injury
* don't put anything in their mouth

When the seizure stops, put the person on their side in the recovery position. After they re-gain consciousness, re-assure them and let them rest quietly in a safe place.

Don't try to move or restrain the person and don't give them anything to drink until they are fully conscious again. You should call an ambulance only if:

* it's the person's first seizure, the seizure lasts more than five minutes or longer than usual, (if you know how long the person's seizure usually lasts)
* the convulsions happen again without the person re-gaining consciousness
* the person injures themselves during the seizure
* they have trouble breathing afterwards

If someone has a seizure that doesn't involve the loss of consciousness:

* guide them away from any possible danger such as traffic if they are in the road
* talk to them calmly and re-assure them
* stay with them until they feel well again

are you brining back 'post replying yours' or what do you call it for tracking post you are involved in

I think its very useful, I know it had some problems before but you should bring it back, I noticed most threads don't last long as they should because most people can't find/reply to comments

you can have a poll to see what other users think

cheers

Both OBJ and Yar'dua seem to reading from the same play book.
you have to admit his style is somewhat different, it's a bit early but i think if there's a poll he'll score a bit above average (in the Nigerian context), he is following the rule of law he hasn't don't anything way of the mark yet even the removal* of Ribadu

The only thing is others especially state govt and local government are not pulling their weight
plus he is entertaining other experiencedpeoples opinion and advice -this is normally a good thing unfortunately majority of those people from previous govt have bad track record and are mainly in for their selfish interest.
who do people seek opinions from in Nigeria anyway?

GB
Gordon Browns govt is not moving particularly fast its just gliding really thanks to the system
