I think you should be checking from page 143, cause it seems the document first reviewed previous salary structures, and it led up to what the new salary structure was to be. .

And according to the document you posted, a CMD which I guess would be at least grade level 13 was earning at least 2.7M (basic), and up to 5.1M (basic)...and this was around 2011.
You're going back and forth. You mention 2006 - 2007. I checked that period then you mentioned for 2011.

Focus on the time period in view. Then convert the salaries to dollar.

Also, factor in expenses from annual salaries. They have families, right?

Even if you jump to 2011.
Dollar to naira was $1 to #165.

CMD basic salary was #2.3 million like you mentioned annually. That's #191,666 per month as CMD salary.

#191,666 is $1,161 per month. It was way lower in 2007, remember? But $1,161 per month as salary for a CMD.

Which is $13, 939 per annum 2011. (Again in 2006 -2007, it was way less).

So, from $13,939 he could pay all his bills and train his children aboard?

If you add allowances, the total accrued allows for a CMD in 2011 is stated in the PDF?

So how could he have afforded such?

How much as tuition, travel, upkeep, visa and the likes for his kids, in say UK/US? From his $13,939 annual salary? After deductions for upkeep and sundry bills?

LOL. We know the truth, man.

Citing the document then, I had taken time to go through the whole PDF. Even looking at it on PC now so I can zoom in.

Abeg how much medical grads doing housmanship dey earn around those 2006/2008 time (doctors, pharmacists, and medical lab scientists).
Find it here: https://nsiwc.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/CONHESS-CONMESS-1998-2014.pdf. For 2007, go to page 80.
This is the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) 1998 - 2014.

Did you know the meal allowance for Levels 15 to 17 was #10,800 PER ANNUM in 2007? You'd find this on page 82. PER FREAKING ANNUM!

And I bet many state governments were paying less. Actually, they were.

Why do you think NMA and JOHESU use to always go on strike, even then, complaining about non-commensurate pay? You think they were SUG boys showing off on campus?

I should know, as the son of a Doctor. I have mentioned it here several times.

I did similar analyses when this came up in May, but you guys were bent on believing what you wanted, even when I kept posting links and screenshots.

Why do you think Doctors kept campaigning to be able to do private practice even as civil servants?

Doctors were never paid as much as they deserved, even then - not as much as the public assumed they earned.

The CMDs who were training multiple children in the West knew what they were up to.

Theflint1:
Today it might be difficult for most CMDs to do that, but around those 2006 Dem, which was one of the examples given, it was common to see fresh medical grass doing housmanship getting like 150K per month, and this came to around $1,000.

I'm sure your CMD from that era would have been taking like 500K per month (plus allowances) that's around $3,000, his two months salary would comfortably pay for a semesters tuition, plus small upkeep money for a child in the UK, or other European countries.

So that people could take their kids abroad less than two decades ago isn't automatically sign that they were corrupt or stealing from the government...these things were a lot easier to manage then.
-----
Minimum wage in 2006 was #5,500 per month.

Dollar to naira in 2006 was $1 to #132.

Minimum wage in 2006 was (#5,500 ÷ #132) = $41.66.

----

Minimum wage in 2025 is #70,000 a month.

Dollar to naira in 2025 averages $1 to #1,500.

Minimum wage in 2006 was (#70,000 ÷ #1,500) = $46.66.

The average civil servant earns more in 2025 in dollar than they earned in 2006.

Because inflation was lower then, he might have survived better in Nigeria; but in forex, he couldn't have competed based on his salary. So how did be train his children abroad?

Another analysis I did in the WhatsApp group which caused the uneasiness. The man who also backed me up is the State Chairman of the State Civil Societies Organisation.

Man, these guys have been corrupt since forever.

But I dropped the issue though then in there. No need to needlessly put a mark on me when I've already made my point.

TemporaryHansel:
Even if they earn 20m annually, the best they should realistically afford is admission into the very lowest-tier universities in the West, and that’s being generous. Yet we both know that’s not what’s happening in reality.

Honestly, I agree with Diss.troy. Any civil servant earning 10 - 20m a year and comfortably sending their children abroad for schooling is almost certainly corrupt. Even if we factor in side businesses, no CMD would be able to sustain that without dipping into corrupt practices.
We were debating the issue this morning in a WhatsApp group. Many government appointees and high-ranking civil servants in the group amongst others.

I uploaded the same salary sheet I had uploaded here. I could almost touch the uneasiness with how thick and hanging in the air it was as some stopped commenting. Some who many know have acquired properties way beyond even triple their annual earnings this year alone.

Immediately someone posted something funnily controversial about Trump, they latched on. "This ràcist guy, blah blah blah" to deflect. I got the message.

Someone close from the group messaged me privately like, "[Disstrøy], you see your people?"

The Faruk case will be dropped. Too many civil servants will be taken down if that case is investigated and a precedence set with it.

That's why they are blackmailing Dangote all over social media, and calling him fighting too dirty.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m):
Theflint1:
Your point was CMDs don't earn above 10M per year. According to Dangote, Mr Farouk was spending over 300M on school fees for his children yearly.

Two very different conversations IMHO.
Yes, you're making my point. When I stated CMDs don't make up to #15 million, folks on this same thread claimed I was "capping", nevermind that I kept uploading proof.

Their defence was, "I know a man who trained all his children abroad in the same position or similar, and there's no way that's his salary."

Remember what brought about the argument ? Me stating #15 million is a luxury for people that high. That any of them driving a car worth that amount is certainly not being open with the full details.

Even in State Civil Service Commissions, there are workers whose full salaries are #300,000 driving cars of #10 million.

A Police Inspector's salary just got raised to #250,000 last year, but you have Police Inspectors driving #12 million cars.

Before the Faruk case, if Disstrøy had pointed it out, even with salary sheet upload, he'd been be dismissed as "just capping".

Most public officer holders are crooks. Where do you think all the kickbacks from hospital equipments and upgrades go?

It's the same conversation I was making. I quoted my comment from May so anyone can track how that went - it was only me reiterating these points while they rest were upvoting takes based on "I know a guy who".

Facts are facts, even when most people don't momentarily agree. It's why I like to post links to credible sources when debating these things.

I must have missed the quip by the 360 about being given a car by the government. Believe what you will, but I wasn't raised to håte.

I'm more about governance than politics.

If you saw anything good about Tinubu's appointees e.g Ministers, you've been bought over.

If you saw anything good about Trump or anything he has done, you're a White Supremacist.

I challenged some of you on this thread last year or so to name 3 good things Buhari did as President, you couldn't.

When you move in hàte, you see nothing good about those you despise.

Brash and uncouth as Wike is, he's still the better-performing Minister of the FCT in decades. But hàtred means even when you see the result daily, you'll never acknowledge it.

But the world isn't black or white - everything mostly functions in the gray area.

Even Obi once praised something Tinubu did (while still criticizing him) but he was turned on. https://gazettengr.com/obi-praises-tinubus-entourage-cut-demands-60-governance-cost-reduction/ The man has stopped since then so he doesn't lose his support base.

Move in hàtred and énvy as much as you want, I see beyond those. I'm still not a partyman or align with any party. If you do good, I'll point it out; the opposite, and I'll do same. Your party flag means jack to me.

If only you were smart enough to realize there are only two sides - those with access to power who fashion it to their advantages and those who don't.

Secondly, he was the first to create access for government-backed VC funds.

He enjoys tormenting you by playing hide and seek with different monikers and watching you try to unmask those monikers.

It's very accurate to say he lives rent free in your subconscious, a place you’ve turned into his comfort zone simply by the attention you keep feeding it. Ironically, starving him of that attention might make him disappear but your ability to see him in the shadows is just too strong.

They fight and argue. But whenever those 4 beautiful members of Team P make a case for Team P, some members of Team F go, "I don't blame you. You have big butts, breasts, and pretty faces so you don't know the struggles of the everyday woman. All your commonsense have been stored in your big butts and breasts, with those your large hips."

Pray tell, how do their body structures and facial aesthetics relate to the debates about feminism?

So because they are curvier than others, they should be deprived of the right to debate issues concerning womanhood?

On X, why is that feminists seem to attack the married females of Patriarchy FC more than the single ones? The answer is obvious. If you say resentment laced with envy then you're not wrong.

Why not focus on punching holes in the arguments of those curvy members of Team P instead of pointing out their looks every time to gaslight or deflect?

Soon enough it becomes obvious why these curvier women of Team P are always singled out while the less curvy members of Team P sometimes get a pass.

Arguments/debates have to be issue-based.

I have always been rational.

I have always insisted comfort is comfort and wealth is relative.

I have always been against entitlement or attacking people because they seem in a better clime or financial place.

I have always pointed out contentment being key. You wouldn't ignore the issue to ALWAYS attack the geolocation of someone outside Nigeria if you were contended with what you have.

What you feel is resentment. It's the same resentment Communists have for those who are (seemingly) on a better economic pedestal.

If you say people who don't reside in Nigeria shouldn't comment about Nigerian politics and should just look on, how come you don't apply the same rules for Roland and one or two other guys here?
Simple: It's because your stated opinions align with Roland's and the other one or two so you give them a pass.

Abroad, Nigeria or on Mars, I do not need to daily single people out for maligning because they live outside or are in a seemingly better advantageous socioeconomic clime.

You are no different from the boys in your village who would be passively aggressive towards you this December when you go home for Christmas, counterig when you're suggesting ideas or holding contrary opinions during the Kindred meeting because, "All these Lagos/Abuja/Port Harcourt/Big city men telling us what to do and having an opinion about what goes on this village. You don't live here so you don't have a right to say anything."

It's passive aggression and envy, and we know what it translates to. You sure would avoid those boys and be wary of them around your drinks and food, wouldn't you?

You're not more Nigerian because you reside in Nigeria. That Akwa United or Enugu Ranger player is not more Nigerian than Victor Osimhen or Williams Troost-Ekong because the later reside in Turkey and Saudi Arabia respectively.

Focus on the issues. Attack their opinions if you disagree with what they posit, insult or troll them for their opinions but stop bringing up "all these Abroadians" every time. It reeks of envy.

Imagine being xenophobic towards your own countrymen. Isn't it ironic?

You lots are the type uber rich folks are warned about who can't contain their envy.

Reccy and these guys lean toward the same politics. You do not bash Reccy just as much or Gbola because they reside in Nigeria but as soon as someone outside of the country holds the same contrary views, you lace your envy as criticism.

I've stated it a thousand times, wealth is relative but comfort is comfort. If you're in Okokomaiko and comfortable, be contented with it.

I am contented (while still working towards achieving more) so someone who lives in the Burj Khalifa having a contrary opinion to mine shouldn't stoke my envy and cause me to attack his more (or seemingly) advantageous station in life.

There's a reason the super rich avoid most people because most people can't rein in their envy. Envy is a dangerous thing.

So many people return for Christmas overseas and don't make it back to their stations because they have been poisoned.

This constant "all these abroadians" everytime someone makes a comment instead of attacking the issue you don't agree with is laced envy. You know it!

So many of you will not see your "abroadian" uncles and aunties who will prefer to lodge in resorts in Lagos for the Naija experience and you will only find out they were in Nigeria for Christmas by January when they post pictures because they avoided you and had picked up on the hints of envy and resentment from the comments you made chatting with them or on social media.

Then there's Dinachi who makes songs for those who love to get lost in their own head.

1. Dinachi - Song For Dolu.

2. Dinachi - Lights Go Out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb_xLUH4YHc?si=TCsFEaydHkA52OZm She sounds like a mix of Adele and some exotic artiste whose name should be a crime to forget.

3. Dinachi - Rise.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdXcBtrl74I?si=mkBxUMUfjF2yPOWI You can't tell me you can't hear a hint of Sade Adu here.

In a normal world, these are the people who should also be topping charts. Well, in a normal country.

He is. He lives in the UK and still does live shows, supported by his lovely wife, the daughter of Oyo State former Governor, living their controversy-free, easygoing life.

You should check out Jeremiah Gyang too who is still performing. ,
