I totally agree with you.

Quota means equitable number of positions or resource allocation for each geopolitical zone and ethnic identity.
It is different from Affirmative action which is what the OP is implying here. Affirmative action is reducing the threshold needed for a certain disadvantaged group of people to qualify for a position or resource allocation with less qualifications.

That said, I do not like Quota system but if it is what works for Nigeria's unity then so be it.

Also, GMB is not necessarily an advocate of quota system per se. Otherwise, Dora Akunyili (of blessed memory) wouldn't have been what she became.
