Politics / Dame Jonathan: 5 Times Ex-first Lady Tried To Warn Us About Buhari's Change by Djpaparazy(m): 11:56am On Sep 16, 2016
Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan has never been a fan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) or President Muhammadu Buhari, for obvious reasons.

Mrs Jonathan frequently mocked the APC and Buhari using their campaign slogan “Change” and warned Nigerians not to vote them in.
Below are five statements Patience Jonathan made to prevent Nigerians from voting for Buhari and his change:

1. “What is change? Why did you not change things when you were there? Is it now that you want to be doing the things you weren’t doing before?”

2. “What are we looking for? If we women of Nigeria don’t appreciate Goodluck and we are looking for bus conductor, it is left for us. ”

3. "Nigerian women shine your eyes, don’t go for analogue, go for digital. PDP is digital, APC is analogue."

4. "Nigerian women shine your eyes o! Vote with what you have seen, who you already know and who has performed. If anyone is telling you change, they are deceiving you."

5. "What did they (Muhammadu Buhari/APC) forget in Aso Rock?

Patience Jonathan is being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for claiming ownership of $31.4 million which was found in five Skye Bank accounts.[b]

Politics / Buhari: APC Says PDP Call For President's Resignation Is Silly by Djpaparazy(m): 11:13am On Sep 16, 2016

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday described the call for President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as silly.
The party expressed the view in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja by its National Secretary, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni.
The party said, ”our attention is drawn to the latest ridiculous demand by a faction of the PDP that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari return the country to the voodoo economics and reckless fiscal policies the country was subjected to during the immediate-past PDP administration.

”Also, PDP’s silly call for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari is not worth the ink it is written with. Hence the APC will not dissipate energy responding.
”The PDP faction by its demand to return the country to the years where looting of the public treasury was the order of the day, has taken its orchestrated plot to deflect attention from the economic mess it left behind to new insensitive and shameless heights.
”Instead of this charade by the PDP, we advise the PDP and their cronies to apologise to Nigerians and toe the path of honour by returning public funds stolen under its watch.”

The party said the wild looting and embezzlement by the PDP administration had traumatised Nigerians and appealed to Nigerians to be more patient with the current administration’s policies.
It said the benefit of the current administration’s policies would be evident soon.
The party accused PDP of attempting “to fraudulently re-write history and misrepresent facts on its misrule of the country’’.
It said “Nigerians are traumatised on a daily basis on disclosures of the startling level of pillage of the country’s commonwealth perpetuated under its (PDP’s) watch.’
”Instead of saving for the rainy day, past PDP administrations and their cronies literally looted the public treasury blind, using the loot to build luxury hotels and other properties, stashing loot in farmlands and hidden bank accounts.
”The APC-led administration is open to, and welcomes positive and constructive contributions on resolving the country’s economic challenges,’’ the party stated.

It assured Nigerians that the Buhari administration was employing all legitimate and innovative means to restore the country’s battered economy back to health in the quickest possible time.

”The results of the fiscal and economic agendas embarked by the President Buhari administration to tackle the effects of the country’s diminishing crude oil revenues, falling value of the Naira and resuscitate the economy will be evident soon,’’ it said.

The party appealed for patience and cooperation from Nigerians as the president “works assiduously to pull the country out of the present hardships and restore the country on the path of growth in all facets.”

Phones / All You Need To Know About Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Recall (MUST SEE) by Djpaparazy(m): 10:58pm On Sep 06, 2016
Samsung has announced a recall of Note 7s along with a halting of sales after concerns of faulty components causing battery explosions. Here’s what you need to know about the recall and how to handle it with your own Note 7.
This is a constantly evolving story with information that is being updated regularly.

Should you keep using your Note 7?
You need to understand that even though Samsung is recalling every phone it has sold, that doesn’t mean that every phone is at risk of having a battery failure.
From Samsung’s announcement of the recall, there have been 35 cases of the issue, out of over a million phones sold but that doesn’t mean your phone has the same problem. Samsung isn’t saying one way or the other what current Note 7 owners should do. Depending on where you bought your Note 7 from, you may have to wait a while to get a fresh one.

What’s causing phones to be recalled?
Samsung’s official statement on the recall says that the issue relates to the battery cells used in some Note 7s, which confirms earlier reports of phones catching fire and exploding. Low-quality battery cells are susceptible to overheating and failing when charged and used heavily.

How do you know if your Note 7 has been recalled?
Rules about how customers with recalled products are notified and handled differ by country, but in general it is expected that all owners will be notified of the recall. Currently, people are just finding out from news agencies and the news is getting around quickly.
According to androidcentral a recent example of the Shield Tablet recall over similar issues shows just how this can be handled: customers are notified or can go to a website to check if their tablet (or in this case phone) is being recalled, and can quickly find out what to do with it and how to receive a replacement.
Retailers and carriers have handled things differently in various parts of the world, but for the most part have now figured out a process for taking in old Note 7s.
It seems China is one place where the Note 7 hasn’t been recalled, as reports are claiming that a different battery supplier was used in China.

What do you do with your recalled Note 7?
As is the case with any other product recall — phones and tablets in particular — you should follow the instructions set out by Samsung, the carrier or retailer you bought it from as soon as you can.

Jobs/Vacancies / Top Tips: How To Write A Perfect CV And Cover Letter by Djpaparazy(m): 9:45pm On Sep 01, 2016
A profile section is always necessary: For practically all types of jobseeker a profile section is a very good idea: it gives a brief introduction about you and your background, and gives you an excellent opportunity to sell your application. Include the most relevant and standout facts about you which match you to the job being advertised. Write one or two sentences that summarise your experience, skills, and perhaps a standout achievement. To be concise, merge your personal statement with your skill areas to make your profile even more striking.

Have structure in your job search: Create a spreadsheet, start with industries you're interested in, then take each industry individually, and identify employers within the sector. Use job sites to build a list of target companies, and start finding out who you need to talk to in each. Methodically send your CV, tailoring it and your cover letter to the role (or company if it's a speculative application). It will take time and commitment, but it will help you structure your jobseeking campaign.

Talk through your CV with a friend: A competency-based CV is pretty much what you need for all CVs now. It means that instead of just writing a list of your previous duties, you look at exactly what the employer says they are asking for and you show that you have what they need. My suggestion is go through each one of their selection criteria and think of where you have demonstrated it. It is helpful to talk it over with a friend or coach as sometimes it can be difficult to think of examples yourself.

Work experience is becoming vital for graduate applications: In a graduate CV you should be able to demonstrate your excellent academic credentials along with some work experience/internships/voluntary engagements you may have undertaken parallel to your degree. Work experience is becoming more and more important for employers when they screen potential candidates for graduate full-time positions.

Write your cover letter in the body of the email: The email is the first impression that you will give a recruiter. Therefore you are going to need to give some information about yourself and why you're right for the role. Too many times I see the comment: "I am applying for X role and attach my covering letter and CV". I'd like to see something about you in the email. I'd also like to see a cover letter as well. Emails have a tendency to be seen as having little value compared with a letter. So why not include a cover letter as well that goes into more detail than the email.

Do your research when applying abroad: If you'd like to work abroad then by all means do start exploring opportunities. However, if you are looking abroad because you think you can't find work here, then I'd suggest spending time investigating the line of work you want to do, which organisations you'd like to work for, and what ways you could break into the sector. Depending on what you're looking to do, don't discount small businesses or startups as a way of getting started, if it seems competition for places at the larger companies is fierce.

Seek work experience in your chosen field: A good route for voluntary experience is to look at the website of your local volunteer centre. Usually you can select the kind of experience you want – research, policy work, administration, or frontline work. Or perhaps offer the research skills from your degree to a local charity who might jump at the chance to commission a short project and give you more of an insight into social research.

Use numbers to back up CV examples: It is quite important to concisely provide examples of your best work, often from a numbers perspective. If this can be packed with your key skills this will enable your CV to reach the top of a CV search. For example, if I am looking for a front end web developer with Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML etc., I will search all those key terms as well as location. Using numbers to back up examples will help push your CV to the top of the pile when recruiters are searching.

Key words are essential for competency-based CVs: Key words are essential today, if only to get past the software scans. Don't spam your CV though by repeating tracts from the advert unnecessarily – you'll be rejected before anyone's even read your application. Examples are always good – try to show a good story about why you're doing this line of work, why this job is the next step for you. Add information which supports your assessment of the key competencies required for that role.

Politics / Ayade Opens Calabar Garment Factory, Employs 300 by Djpaparazy(m): 5:06pm On Sep 01, 2016
The Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, on Thursday approved the employment of 300 applicants as workers in the Calabar Garment Factory newly built by his administration.

The governor announced the automatic employment of the applicants on Thursday after the applicants from the southern senatorial districts of the state had participated in a job screening exercise by the garment factory.

In a statement made available to our correspondent on Thursday, the governor said the gesture was not only in fulfillment of his dream to create jobs for citizens of the state but to inspire young men who were not privileged.

He promised the newly employed workers good salaries and welfare package, while reiterating the commitment of his administration to the welfare of the poor in the state.

Ayade said, “When we set up this factory, the intention was not just to create jobs but to guarantee that young men and women who have been challenged by circumstances of their births have the opportunity to better their lots.
“I’m so excited at what I am seeing here today – the number of people and their energy – and it is an indication that our factory has taken off. Remember, the factory has the capacity to create 3,000 jobs.
“Truly, if you call yourself a leader, your focus should be on the vulnerable and the weakest that we are engaging today. We will guarantee you good salaries, food and proper transportation.”Ayade urged the new employees, who he tagged ‘great fashion engineers’, to leverage on the opportunity to express their innate potentials and be the pride of the state.

He said, “We want to show to the world that we have skills, great fashion engineers. I call you engineers because you are going to provide the skills that we have not seen before.”
The President and Founder, Africa Young Entrepreneurs, Oluwa-Summy Francis, who at the occasion along other entrepreneurs from other parts of Africa, said Ayade had justified the belief that youths can excel in leadership positions.

He said his administration was working hard to avoid the mistakes of the last administration in tackling insecurity and corruption and to revamp the economy which was badly affected by the drop in the price of oil.
Buhari said, ” We promised Nigerian people positive and progressive change during our campaign. We are not and shall not be deterred from that noble undertaking.
“But as we have learnt from history, change has never been attained by any nation on a bed of roses, but rather, through patience, perseverance and steadfastness.

“We are quite aware of the pains and inconveniences that have been the lot of the citizenry in the past one year as we strive to faithfully implement our programmes in fulfilment of our change agenda.
“We are however comforted by the real change and progress we have made in fighting corruption and restoring integrity to government; providing security for lives and property; and positioning the government for effectiveness and especially deregulating the oil sector.
“We must also not forget the fiscal discipline that has now characterised government business at all levels. This indeed is how it should be and we are determined to introduce and implement actions and measures that will entrench the change mantra in our individual lives just as we are doing in curtailing excessive waste and rent seeking in governance.
“We are determined to remain on track as we strive to deliver to rescue the country from past mistakes in fulfilment of our promise of improving the conditions of our people and making Nigeria a prosperous country.”

Politics / Economic Crisis: Pdp Ask Buhari To Step Down (see This) by Djpaparazy(m): 4:27pm On Sep 01, 2016
The People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria, has called for the resignation of President Buhari following the new statistics released Wednesday by the National Bureau of Statistics, indicating that Nigeria is currently experiencing economic recession. The party made the call in a statement released today. Part of the statement reads:

‘Nothing better showcases the absolute ineptitude and incompetence of the Muhammadu Buhari administration than the GDP, Inflation and unemployment figures released by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics today.

These figures reveal what we have repeatedly said over the last15 months , President Buhari is destroying the Nigerian economy. For the avoidance of doubt, some of these figures include: GDP contracted by -2.06% in Q2 2016. In contrast, the economy grew
by 2.35% in Q2 2015. This was worse than -0.36% in Q1 2016.

Headline Inflation for July 2016 stands at 17.1%. It was 16.5% in June 2016. Food inflation was 15.58% for July 2016 from 15.3% in June 2016. Portfolio investment declined to $245.3m in Q2 2016. This is a 9.5% from $271.0m in Q1 2016 & is a far
cry from $2.81bn in Q2 2015. FDI declined from $211.1m in Q2 2015 and $174.4m in Q1 2016 to an estimated $133.0m in Q2 2016. Total value of capital imported in Q2 2016 is estimated at mere $647.1m.

This is the lowest quarterly figure since Nigeria started keeping records of capital importation. It is a decline from $710.9 m in Q1 2016 & a far cry from $2.67bn in Q2 2015. A total of 4,580,602 people have lost their jobs since May 29, 2015. The number of persons in full time employment decreased by 351,350 in Q2 2016 compared to Q1 2016.

The result of these indices is that Nigeria is in its worst economic state for 29 years – dating back to 1987 when the nation had to take harsh steps to recover from President Buhari’s policies of 1984-85. As with 1984-85, companies are fleeing our shores in
droves.

Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) recently stated that more than 272 companies have shut down in the past 1 year. Furthermore, like we suffered in 1984-85, we are suffering a brain drain where our best & brightest talents are leaving the country in search of a better life elsewhere.

It is disheartening that the Buhari administration is destroyingthe Nigerian economy & our collective future by the implementation of his archaic & incoherent economic policies which failed in 1984-85 & are failing spectacularly now. Our dismay is made worse by the fact that every sphere of the Nigerian socio-political space (ranging from the conduct of elections human rights, respect for the rule of law, security, technology, health etc) is negatively affected by Buhari’s government.

We join all well meaning Nigerians to call on Buhari to resign if he is unable to reverse the economic decline he has brought on us. May God bless Nigeria, especially in these very difficult times”. - See more at: http://www.hitgistng..com.ng/2016/09/economic-problems-pdp-calls-for.html#sthash.hy4D2CAy.dpuf

The deal for the Spanish forward has not been made public because Barcelona have not finalized Munir’s departure to Valencia.

Romance / Beauty Tips: 5 Beauty Products You Should Never Share (MUST READ) by Djpaparazy(m): 12:42pm On Aug 30, 2016
It can be convenient sometimes when you share beauty products with your friend especially when you are lacking some of them but are some of this products really safe to share?
It could be tempting when you see your friend pull out that perfect shade of lipstick out of her make-up bag or that powder brush you prefer to borrow (rather than get yours).
Try as much as possilble to avoid sharing beauty products (Brides)
What you don't know is that some of these beauty products are totally unsafe to use. Even though the person you are sharing these products with may not have a visible cold sore, they may have other bacteria that could be passed off to you.

Here are 5 beauty products you should steer clear of sharing:
1. Pressed foundation
Pressed foundation (Franche)

Dry powders don't hold onto bacteria, but that doesn't mean you can't transfer bacteria from one person to another, this is possible if you're using a sponge to touch up areas around your mouth or eyes. The only safe way to let your girlfriend use your pressed powder, should she need to touch up her shiny forehead in a 'Selfie emergency', is to spray the powder with an alcohol-based spray (like a cosmetic sanitizer mist) and then give her a clean makeup brush to use and have her swipe it over pressed powder once.
2. Make-up brushes
Make-up brushes

It feels great to use your friend's powder brush because it bring your make-up to perfection (Wrong!). While acne is an internal skin condition, you can get break-outs by using someone else's brushes and cross-contaminating bacteria. The only safe way to share your brushes, is to use a fresh brush or spray your used brush with alcohol to kill bacteria or shampoo them weekly (and then condition them so they last a long time).

3. Mascara
Do you use your mascara and sometimes feel like you are about to have a boil on your lid? What most ladies are not aware of is that, your favorite mascara can harbor bacteria and viruses that are easily transmissible, like conjunctivitis. Since your eyes don't have the same layers of protection that your skin does, it is more susceptible to infections like pink eye (Commonly known as 'Apollo"wink.
Mascara harbor bacteria that can be transmissible (Heather Roberts)

Also, each time you pull the wand out and push it back in to lube up the brush head, you push air into the dark bottle's base, feeding the aerobic bacteria that can survive in an oxygenated area. The only safe way to share your mascara, if you so desire, is to practice what pro makeup artists do and never let the wand that comes with it be used; use only disposable wands to apply it, and never double dip.

4. Razors
shared razors will most likely give you infectons
Shared razors will most likely give you infections (Harbor Freight) (Harbor Freight)
Most people know this already but for those who are not aware, it is totally wrong to share razors. Razors are important to not share, even though stainless steel doesn't carry bacteria for very long, you can still transfer warts or genital herpes,if you or your friend has either by someone using your razor or by using someone else's.
Even worse, razors can cut you and draw blood or fluids, which leave bacteria on the blade after rinsing, making you more vulnerable to a staph infection, hepatitis, or blood-borne viruses (like HIV, although it's highly unlikely).

5. Lipstick or balm
Lipsticks and balms are the commonest beauty product shared but they are a hard no to sharing unless you stash an alcohol spray or wipe in your purse to sanitize them. A large percentage of people carry HSV-1 (Herpes simplex virus 1,which is ubiquitous and contagious). But because it is in your system doesn't mean you ever show signs of it externally. This is referred to as asymptomatic shedding, where you have the virus but you don't show any symptoms, it is all based on your immunity and whether or not something like stress can trigger an outbreak.
Lipsticks and balms are the commonest beauty products shared ( Seventeen)

That is why it is so important to use your own lip products, because if you pass your favorite lipstick around from girl to girl and you or your friend has the virus, you could be transferring bacteria or HSV-1 and never know it. And then you won't know if you have the capability to develop a cold sore of fever blister until you have it, which is unfortunately too late.

President Muhammadu Buhari during his two-day working visit to Kenya has told reporters that his government would treat the Niger Delta militants like Boko Haram insurgents. In a response Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), the militants who claimed responsibility for attacks on the oil and gas facilities, write an open letter to President Buhari, saying that Nigeria is not his property. The militants advise the president to negotiate as military action won’t help to win the oil war.
President Buhari in Kenya

We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to put away the garb of a stooge to the imperialists, whenever he speaks outside Nigeria. We have listened carefully and halted hostilities in the Niger Delta; we expect a genuine and positive attitude to restructuring and self-determination for every component unit of Nigeria.

Dear president, what makes those countries (Japan, Germany, France, USA, Britain etc.) great is the ability of their governments to accommodate internal protestations and conflicts for the greater good of their nations over the years. Please stop presenting your government as pawn to the web of military industrialists complex, whenever you leave the shores of Nigeria.

Nigeria is not a one-man personal property we must have these talks every time if this union must continue to work as one. The people of the Niger Delta have been living here from time immemorial, so we have the secret of the terrain and survival of amphibious operations. No amount of troop surge and simulation exercises will make you win the oil war, you can only win battles. You cannot apply the might of the state to restore the people’s confidence in your leadership when you cannot differentiate between genuine demands and being mismanaged by disorganized characters and tribal lords around you in your government that are playing the court jesters role as well as counting the days that is left in your four years term.
You can deceive the whole world but we cannot be deceived by the so glamorized ongoing military operations in the creeks Of Ijaw communities in the Delta coded ” Operation Crocodile Smiles”… the world should know that with your pronouncement in Kenya and your attitude to the military build up in the Niger Delta, it is crystal clear that the military has nothing less than a pre-determined genocide in Niger Delta and burn more already scared national resources to the pockets of those that have failed to locate the missing Chiboks School Girls.

Conclusively, dear President Muhammadu Buhari please also tell those foreign nations that you are always at ease talking to, while refusing to listen to Nigerians that your troops are about to carrying out extra judicial killings in the Niger Delta in violation of article four of the Geneva Convention with “OPERATION CROCODILE SMILES”.

All sane minds know the meaning of “CROCRODILE TEARS” so by code-naming your military operation CROCODILE SMILES only betrays your motives and attitude to the whole world about the Niger Delta question. The whole world will surely applaud you in The Hague when you leave office! This is not the Nigeria and the world of the 1980s and 1990s under General Sani Abacha and your watch.
