dhtml: So you are saying a person that was trained in havard for programming cannot be better than someone that trained with ehm maybe w3schools?
depends on the individual.
ProgrammingRe: Are Programmers Born Or Made? by Djtm(m): 12:35pm On Jul 08, 2014
dhtml: So you are saying that programming is determined by DNA sequences eh? So what happens to programmers that were born in an era that there were no computers? they simply died and were reborn?
lol, no. Some people just cannot think like a programmer. The same thing that happened to all the messis that were born when there was not football.

Did you say "a solution to nigeria's......" where is the wifi? Wifi sef scarce pass electricity.
ProgrammingRe: Are Programmers Born Or Made? by Djtm(m): 5:47am On Jul 08, 2014
That's a rather tough question. But if I were to place my laptop as a bet I'd say they are born. They'd have to be made afterwards tho. Not everybody can be a programmer IMO. I've seen some "made programmers" tho and they're not great. There's a difference between "born" and "made". Messi was born to play football, that is his ministry, the ball is attracted to him. The same way some people will never be able to kick a ball in a straight line to save their lives no matter how hard they train.

WebmastersRe: edit: Why Is My User Id Changed? A 24 Hours ultimatum To Revert It Back. by Djtm(m): 12:50am On Jul 07, 2014
You're not the only one. Every user(that I know) with special characters in their usernames have had the characters removed (without prior permission). Seun's a programmer, not a businessman.

ProgrammingRe: We Are In Darkness 2/3rd Of The Year! by Djtm(m): 10:35am On Jul 05, 2014
I used to think the term "Third world countries" was a derogatory term until I read about Germany generating half of their electricity form solar energy. That half being 24.3GW. So they must be generating about 59-60GW while nigeria is generating about 4000MW. Then I realized Nigeria is a fifth world country. Like dhtml said, the cost of internet is another limiting factor. How many Nigerians can sit back and watch youtube videos without sweating? A friend in malaysia told me he bought 1GB for an equivalent of 50naira. The crap telecommunication companies offer us here is BS. Wth do you want to do with 4GB?
Back to the elctricity issue, I might just build my own inverter before the end of this year.

Lame comment! Is fluent grammar a prerequisite for ethical hacking?
ProgrammingRe: Do You Think Learning Assembly Makes You A Better Programmer? by Djtm(m): 8:14pm On Jul 04, 2014
I think it does on the long run. It makes you understand how stuffs go down on your machine (pardon my language). It gives you a better knowledge of how your high level language works.

asalimpo: Young, fresh (... so tht we'll work you to the bone.)

young , fresh and broke (right out of school . Easily intimidated by our under handedness . Like working on weekends - without xtra pay - and smiling about it)

the job is undefined , we want a versatile slave . You'll do d work of 3 professionals so prepare for that.
A) hard core dev: java
b) web dev : php,
c) front end dev/ui expert: javascript (unworded: html, css)
c) database admin: (implied: must know the 3 most popular databases in d market- oracle,ms sql, mysql bonus if you know more say postgres , couchdb, mongodb )
some meaningless filter: pascal, fortran (this is just to slash the eligible further. We cudnt think of anythg more to descriminate *legally* by so we threw this in)

ahem, we will also judge by looks ( the less photogenic u are the less ur chances but we cant formally state this. As nigeria improves, hopefully 1-way coommunication *employer2 slavemarket i mean job market will improve).

: ) - i helped you say it better. Cuz this is wat you/your emploers are really trying to say.
If only them job seekers cud really get it and tailor their resumes accordingly.

There's nothing funnier than your parents comparing you to your friend who is worse than you. You'll just laugh and say "you have no idea". On the other hand, it hurts if they're right.

You should have asked for the number of people who have computers or electricty to power them and internet connection first.
Today i signup for paypal account using my uba africard to register and verified the account.

I register the Paypal account with my prepaid visa debit card UBA africard and I was instantly debit N167 for the registration alone.I got debit alert.

Then I proceed to verify paypal. I entered my uba africard information and select visa instantly again I was debited N326. I got the debit alert sms including the PP* code.

According to paypal it will be returned immediately but for several hours now nothing has been received so far is this how uba africard works? Can one even received funds from paypal on it?

Kindly confirm this please. Someone with experience.
they never said "immediately". It might take some days. I've already forgotten about the money when I got my refund.
WebmastersRe: Lessons To Learn From NAIRALAND Shut Down Over 5days For ALL Nairalanders by Djtm(m): 12:49am On Jul 01, 2014
Dual Core: What serious organisation or web master keeps backups of a server on the same server? Why are they called backups?

Sadly its a common trend and its a shame that people who you expect should know better still make very silly mistakes intentionally mostly because they have this feeling that it wont happen to them....until it happens.
I guess he was just trying to cover up the fact that he doesn't make backups. I have my doubts though, since he said it was on a different disk on the same server. It's still difficult to believe tho. I can picture seun lashing someone who suggests keeping backups on the same server as the main site.

ProgrammingRe: Which Is Better : Laptop Or Desktop For Programming by Djtm(m): 12:14am On Jul 01, 2014
ITbomb: I don't know why people keep going for HP in spite of numerous keyboard complaints, screen and battery.

I'm not saying you are using HP but go for a good laptop like Lenovo not those fancy gleaming box of crap.

I'm still using my Zinox laptop bought in 2011, the keyboard is still clear and firm in spite of hard gaming, screen is bright battery has reduced to 1 hour 30mins after 4 years meanwhile my friend's hp is peeling and keyboard is rub off, battery is 2 minutes.

Go for Lenovo or Toshiba or probably Dell,
wow! 1hr 40mins after four years? Thats cool. My dell's down to 50mins after 2+ years. Apart from that everything else is perfect. Keyboard is clear (No sign of excessive usage), mousepad looks new (I've never used an external mouse), body's still neat (there are 2 scratches on the cover as a result of my carelessness). Folks still ask me "Have you changed your laptop?". Many find it difficult to believe its the same laptop I've had for 2 years (and use almost 24hrs everyday). Apart from the deteriorating battery life (an average laptop battery lasts 2-3 years, yours is probably an exception), everything else is cool.
