That's because they can get it done cheaply elsewhere. |
Peeps don't even know how to source for developers anymore. "I need a doctor" what do you need a doctor for? What kind of doctor do you need? What is your budget? It's only on NL I see people post jobs like this. Maybe that's why serious devs don't bother to respond. |
Olarewajub: A big nope :-D . How was your day? Don't tell it was boring/indoor all through.Nanana, I went to church. Apart from that, it's just another normal day. |
Let him learn corel draw and photoshop. Then he can try his hands on html. |
Olarewajub: Happy weekend Djtm . Are you a dj (introvert dj)?lol. Nope |
GideonG: I have been using 32bit system all my life! Just trying to switch. You can't run 64bit apps on a 32bit machine. And you won't have access to the entire ram on 32bit systems. But 32 bit systems are fine. I use one too. |
Nastydroid: am just considering the RAMIt'll be just fine. |
Nastydroid: Am sorry for posting this here,i av my reason tho....is it advisable to use a 32bit laptop for programming?what's wrong with that? |
This article was copied off telegraph, daily mail or the guardian and OP REFUSED to acknowledge the source. And mods put it on the frontpage without a source. |
davidsmith8900: You are wrong. I can put up a Nairaland clone within 3 hours but to get users is way way hard. Its a forum and like other forums its source code is easy to have and implement. I have Nairaland source code and everything on my Ubuntu laptop. The hard part is marketing and getting users to use it everyday. Nairaland has become an addiction. Making a website or web app into an addiction is not easy. Thats the hard part.Exactly! Forums especially. |
I actually prepared a robust reply for this thread and I accidentally deleted it. Typing (long posts) on mobile ain't fun at all. |
ClintonNzedimma: i mean yahoo.comNotwithstanding, I still do not think offering a lot of services killed yahoo (having a page full of links should be part tho). There were a lot of factors that put yahoo in a coma. |
So there's an internet.org app already |
davidsmith8900: I really dont understand that "yahoo is a website with no description". Can you please explain further? What if Nairaland had its own email service with an additional file upload service. Could it be Dropbox, Gmail & Yahoo in the Nigerian Market? I think so. It can even reign in the African market. U have some Ghanians who come to Nairaland.I did not post that. I was responding to a post by the user above me. |
ClintonNzedimma: Its what you guys think. You're kidding right? Yahoo is a website with no description? Then what is google? Google has it's nose (arms and legs sometimes) in almost all parts of the tech business. |
Did you write the article? |
oieda: Although dw is a wysiwyg program, it can't process php code cos php is server side stuff. Get dreamweaver and get xamp. Gurus on the house please correct me where wrongIt can process php codes. |
Lacomus: This is a breach of privacy.this is 2014 there's nothing like privacy. |
Nairaland is so cool on mobile. Simple and easy on the eyes. On pc, NL is drop dead ugly. Nobody wants a complex looking forum difficult to navigate but all the same, one extra color and NL is good to go. Since NL is responsive, the UI for mobile devices can be left the same way. I prefer surfing NL from a mobile device. I just simply do not enjoy surfing sites that look like a ms word document. |
sheniqua: Just 10Get him a computer and see if he can get his hands on programming. |
sheniqua: I have a young son that is tending towards being an introvertHow old is he? |
sheniqua: You may end up with a talkative wifeTalkative wife? Eh? I don't like talkatives. I just want a lively lady. Before I learnt it is good one marries someone with an opposite character, I used to wish I married a nerd like me, but now I know better. But still, I don't want someone with an extremely different character. |
sheniqua:so many thoughts. But I believe it will just happen. No, the thought doesn't scare me. |
sisiafrika: Talking to oneself is a sign of mental illness, have u give it a thought?lol. Are you for real. Studies have shown that creative people tend to talk to themselves. |
uzoexcel: u guys really do need to watch avatarWe've watched that already. |
*Bookmarks page for future use*. These countries are not populated at all (japan excluded). They are mostly cold too. |
GreyBlood: For the first time in my life I felt like denying my name. I couldn't believe the company had allied with my enemies to punish melmao ![]() |
You guys are raising some nice points. *Following* |
ayodiya: not just uploading , taking pic na die throughtout my university days took pics 6 timeslol. 6 times? If you mean printed (hardcopy) photos, then I've only taken two (during my matric). |
Olarewajub: #IntrovertFact. That's true. I don't have my pic on social media. |
Olarewajub: Can you tell us how joining the choir helped your shyish personality?Sure. Prior to my appointment as the choir coord, I was on the keyboard most times, so I had no problems at all. But when I assumed "duty", I sometimes had to lead "introduce" songs or worse, lead them. I most times rehearse what I would say before grabbing the mic. As time went on, I became more and more confident and I kind of grew used to the people. Being an executive introduced me to visiting people. I was the sort of hostel-school person. But I had to visit members, send text messages etc. It helped me to be able to stand in front of people without my legs shaking (or with my legs shaking a little) in my trousers. |
Olarewajub: And you can't join the choir department because you hate when all eyes are on you.I actually became the choir coordinator of my fellowship during my 2nd year in my university. I joined the choir to play keyboard initially. |
