Papi85: I think those who hate or under rates maduka is doing that based on reasons best known to them
He is not among the best in the world or in Africa but the best we can boast of. Also many easily forgets that he is just 21 abi 22 and as a goal minder will get better as the day goes. He has improved massively since debuting for the team by rising from German lower leagues to the eirdvisie, was voted best keeper in Holland’s top flight, became the super eagles number 1 and recently signed for an epl team. This signifies that he is improving and has potentials to be better in the nearest future
Rohr picked him as his first choice for a reason which many thought was based on sentiment because of his German lineage but now we have a new coach who see all the keepers in training since camp resumed who also picked him as his undisputed number 1 just because he is the best we can boast of currently
I bet you guys that this much maligned lad will grow to become the best in Africa in no distant time and may turn out to be the first Nigerian goal keeper to feature in the epl When people said Akpeyi was shaky and should not be started again, nobody questioned what he looked like or what exactly we were seeing, he was also getting accolades in SA league at the same time o. Its not club performance that matters here, we'd expect that you'd replicate same in the GWG but if thats not the case you might have to step aside. |

jihday: Maduka drops a cross everybody goes ‘he’s too shaky, drop him’. Uzoho parries ball like a rookie but nobody is saying he’s shaky or lacks confidence. It’s just a mindset not football related There are little things people pick up on that you yourself might not notice exudes confidence, that is what people are picking up on in this whole Uzoho vs Maduka ish, not just we the fans, the opponents too pick up on it and you'd see their strikers more willing to try shots from outside the box. |

safarigirl: I am honestly tired of putting on a cape for Maduka, but if you want to give the defense props for his clean sheet against Egypt, we also need to give the same defense knocks for the goal Sudan scored, because man was flying home free with that clean sheet, if Aina had not unnecessarily pulled at a jersey and stepped on a foot
The Maduka hate train is now looking like it exists for a non-football reason. Perhaps, if his looks were closer to Uzoho's, there would be more faith in his game. He would have had a clean sheet yes, but it wasnt like he made 10 saves in the game. Your preference for him is also bias because you can't back it up with stats in the GWG, so don't cry hatred when people don't fall heads over heels for him. |

Papi85: With the look of things balogun should just retire from the national team unless em go accept to Dey chop bench
Can’t wait to have osimehn and Dennis back to the team also with the inclusion of uncapped ademola lookman
Michael olise I hope he makes up his mind soon cus he will be a great addition to the team while eze should continue waiting for England. Rangers bassey should also be given a chance. He is versatile and will be a great asset to the team as cover for the LB and CB position
Also eguavoen and the nff should reach out to udinese’s udogie, he will be a good competition for zaidu and better than Collins Balogun was the better of the two CBs coming into this tournament, what makes you think he wouldn't have an improved performance like everyone else when he returns. |

codemaniacs: Super Eagles have not played against a strong team especially a team with a strong attack..
It's normal to play well against teams like sudan, equatorial guinea, an underperforming Egypt..
Eguavoen major advantage for now is the fact that he is playing attacking football if Super Eagles concedes first and changes to a defensive pattern then SE will be in trouble.
Hopefully eguavoen doesn't change his attacking game. Senegal no even get underperforming big name for their group yet dem no still carry 9pts. Abeg bring another come |

Subzero047: So the 28 points they were subtracted for losing against E. G was a 4 year result? If they going by 4 year results which they aren't Algeria will still be solidly no 1 in Africa because they have lost only once in the last 4 years Okay let me try to explain, in a class a student scores 95, 93, 85, 32, 22 and the second scores 68, 55, 51, 62, 50 Student A gets an average of 65.4 while Student B gets an average of 57.2, despite failing two courses Student A comes first in class. To bring it home, Nigeria played Brazil and Argentina two teams in the top 10 and drew those matches, those are the kind of draws that would boost your points, not Oman and Syria. |

Subzero047: They lost 28 points from losing one match tell me what points they have gathered from a 35 match unbeaten run plus winning the Afcon that Morocco eclipsed the calculation is based on an average of a four year run, so its not exactly a direct addition or subtraction, its an average of your performances over the last four years. |

Subzero047: Do you know who won the last Afcon? If losing a match in Afcon equals loss of 28 points how much do you think winning Afcon should attract? Check the formula and digest it first, you cant argue with mathematics nobody is conjuring numbers from FIFA's POV. |

Do you think they can get a draw? Its possible with the Senegal we saw the other day. And our group would probably not produce any third place team going through so Malawi has a chance going through even with 3 pts. |
