gadotor:NIGCOMSAT-1R was launched on 19th Dec 2011 at about 5:41pm. It has 4 C-band, 14 ku-band, 8 ka-band and 2 L-band. The satellite was placed in its final orbital position of 42.5 degres east at exactly 00:58 GMT, on Tuesday, Dec 27th, 2011. In-Orbit Testing (IOT) has begun and will last for another 40 days before commercial activities begin. It is expected that commercial service shall commence in the the first week of february 2012. The satellite has the capacity to cover 40 African countries and has already got request from Ghana to supply 2 trasponders. Other countries who have stressed interest in the facilities include Sierra-leone, Congo Brazzaville, Kenya, Angola, South Africa and about six European countries. NIGOMSAT-1R is now being monitored and controlled from the Abuja Ground Station. Thank you. |
obnelly:True talk bro. |
Fred4life:@Fred4life, yeah, your srt 4669x reciever can play it if you have upgraded it with 130p or 132p. Just plug your flash drive on your reciever and press play button on your remote and the movie will start playing but there will be no audio. |
@ All, those that are recieving AB7 should check this trasponder (11565 H 27500). According to flysat, it claim that the trasponder is beaming on N.W.A. I would have check it myself but I'm not around. Thanks. |
@ Pidzo and ESTJOZI, you should direct your anger to your BIG BROTHER and not to the british. The british have a lot of good freebies. They are not in the position to spoil business for your BB. Remember when the BB were dominating in the whole Africa, when they were on C band until Arabsat pursued them. They are now holding the the west Africa into ransom. Have you not seen how nilesat and AB7 have meandered away from west Africa. Does it mean that the Arabs doesn't have brothers in west Africa? no, it because of your BB, so don't put your blame on the west but to your BB. Thanks. |
Bereal247:You are welcome. |
@ All, these trasponders (12.303 H 27500 and 12.284 H 27500) on w4/w7 are open. Enjoy it while it last. Viva fta. |
Bereal247:@ Bereal247, NTA is free on Intelsat 905 at 24.5 degres west with two trasponders which are 4064 L 3775 and 4071 L 5632. You can recieve it again on Intelsat 907 at 27.5 degres west with a trasponder which is 4054 L 5632. These two satellites are C band and you need at least 1.8m dish to recieve it. Happy hunting. |
agborodun:@ agborodu, like you said that you already know how to track Mytv then select eutelsat w4/w7 satellite on your reciever and input 12130 H 27500. From Mytv position, face your dish as by this time you are facing to the west then gentle raise your dish up and down. On the process of raising it up and down try shifting the dish a little bit to the left and continue lifting your dish up and down and by this you will surely hit green but remember to set your lnbf at 3 o' clock or 9 o' clock. When you have hit green after setting your dish (azimuth and elevation) try again to skew your lnbf for that trasponder to reach at least 90% for good reception of other channels. Happy hunting. |
jayboskie7:@ jayboskie7, optimasports is on C band at 5 degres west. The tp to recieve it are 4117 L 2222 and 4120 L 2222. At least you need 1.8m to recieve it. Happy hunting. |
@ All, it looks like that trasponder from AB7 on N.W.A beam have disapeared. Have anybody noticed this? |
@ All, days of tracking of nilesat with much stress will soon be over. With that transponder on AB7 for N.W.A, it will now be easier because it will be used as reference point for tracking and for us who are in West Africa. I know that soonest that weak trasponder will be strong. Regards to all the member of the house. Merry xmas. |
@ All, our satellite NigComSat-1R have been successfully lunched for about 33 munites ago. Lets hope that all the west African countaries will benefit from it. |
@ All, NigComSat have been successfully lunched about ten minutes ago. Let hope we will benefit from it. |
@ auch, Nice work. I must congratulate you. It is not easy to track with that heavy metals. |
Pls. Someone help me with 8 way Diseqc switch. Where and how much?
Last time I bought it was from Tyco's shop at electronic international market Onitsha at the rate of one thousand naira. |
lovala: Ilish:Whaaaaat!!!, which one is original? I am planning of getting a new one and I don't want to end up getting a fake one. Please, those using the one with RJ45 and the one without should confirm weither they have upgraded their reciever with the same firmware so as to know weither Strong Technologies have modified the reciever. |
kalonji:@ kalonji, never worry, you will soon understand every topic on satellite technology nairaland. When you are caught up with A.S.A.S, you will be familiar with everything on this thread. I am seeing the syntom in your eyes. For newbie like you to be aiming on badr4/5/6 and nilesat, this shows that you will soon be there. |
gadotor:I think the guy is refering to humax reciever. You know, because Abudahbi uses it and they refer it as Abudahbi reciever but in actual sense there is no reciever named Abudahbi reciever. It is just the way MyTv or MultiTv uses Strong recievers. |
figment232:@ figment232, that your reciever will not show any Dstv channel. We were using Dstv in our office before but one faithful day the whole of the Dstv channels on our 69x got scrambled despite that the subscription have not expired. I tried to make the reciever show the channels but it could not and the subscription got wasted. Two weeks after the incident, a friend of mine who was using Dstv reciever (DSD 988i) got all the channel on his reciever scrambled except Africa Magic Yoruba and when he called Dstv customary line, he was told to go and swap his reciever with seven thousand naira. I collected his smart card and inserted it on my reciever at my house and at our office and it was only showing African Magic Yoruba. |
figment232:@figment232, just do as Ameboperoo have advised you. With that your strong reciever, you can't watch Dstv for now except if new version of stb update that play Dstv is released. They have blocked the access on strong recievers. |
annie7:Hurry to where? Dstv agent and purchase Dstv product? No way bro. |
soloqy, the motorizing option for 90cm will not give you exactly the same package as you would get from a 3m but at least it will give you enough to wean you off dstv. that's a promise.
Oga mi, no be lie lie talk but na true. |
Promo or no promo, I will never be decieved or exploited by DSTV. |
Promo or no promo, I will never be enslaved by DSTV unless if fta cease to exist. |
It is only ignorance that makes people worry about DSTV. If you have enough space in your compound then get 3m dish and freely enjoy nilesat, hotbird, badr4/5/6, Eurobird1 and a whole lot of other satellite but if you don't have, you can get HH motor and motorise your 90cm dish but I know that pride that one is using DSTV would not allow many. Most of those sports which they show on supersport are shown freely on a lot of free to air channels like wise news, music, hollywood movies etc. Why would I worry myself over DSTV subscription whereby I have more than they (DSTV) have? Never! |
Yeeeaaah, I nominate George_D and gadotor. |
May God cure us from this A.S.A.S disease. |
miju:@miju, anything from 1.8m dish is ok. |
Nice work Simniboma. |
King411:Optima sport channels on AB3 are feeds. Most of the time they go off air at dawn. You will notice that they are feed when they are about to televise live program and beside it is AIT that called it feed before lyngsat changed the format to feed. |
jimohbello:@ jimohbello, is like you are not doing any reading because if you do, you would have seen an answer to your question but I will advise you to check lyngsat.com for you to see the channels and do some reading on this thread. Happy reading. |
