Hi all, I'm a Nigerian, an aspiring web developer, that relocated to Europe last year but no longer interested in living here for several reasons.

For those that have the strength to do strenuous and tedious jobs , this place is good for them. Although jobs are not easy to get here as an African, there's a much higher chance of getting some laborer of assistant unskilled kind of jobs which I'm not interested in.

I thought I would be able to get some not-so-tedious part time jobs while I take out time to building my portfolios and landing some good web developer jobs, but from all indications, that's almost impossible to get as a black man.

I'm enjoying the peace and the social amenities here which I appreciate but this comes at a very huge price. The cost of living is so high and it's putting pressure on me to dump my web dev program and going out there to hunt for a job which I don't want to consider.

Now I think the solution is for me to look for peaceful, English speaking African country with low cost of living that I can relocate to and spend like a year until I'm able to land a remote job but non comes to mind at the moment.

I would like some recommendations my nairaland peeps

Most times, those people begging for money are not completely broke. They just feel you have excess money to dash out so they will start disturbing you.

If someone begs you for money for the first time, give.
Second time: Say no. Tell them you just finish paying school fees for your kids or your just sent your last card to your mum/dad or tell them about Nigeria situation that every where is hard and you are just managing.
You can even say your employers have refused to pay you salary.
Third time: Give
Fourth time: Say No again.
That way, when the person comes to you for help the fifth time, he would have conditioned his mind that it's a 50-50 chance.
You might give and you might not.
But if you give first time, second time, third time, fourth time, the person would have conditioned his mind that you have money and you will surely give.
If you don't give at that point, he will be angry and he will spoil your name and tag you a bad person.

I will be very frank with you. A lot of people might not agree with what I am about to say but it's the bitter truth.
I am a Nigerian woman and the truth is 90% Nigerian men who marry oyinbos/Maga only do that for green card and what they can benefit from the lady. Once they start making money, they build houses in Nigeria, establish businesses, send money home for investment.
After achieving their dreams, they relocate back to Nigeria and marry a Nigerian woman then start life afresh with her leaving the oyinbo woman with her kids.
Some men even tell their wives that they are coming to Nigeria to visit their parents, but they'll come to Nigeria, marry another wife, impregnate her and start building another family without the knowledge of the oyinbo lady.
Most of my friends are married to men who are based abroad and also married to Oyinbo women with kids. They all understand the agreement. It's only for a short time.
When they achieve their dreams, they divorce the Oyinbo woman and bring their family abroad or leave the oyinbo woman stranded and relocate back to Nigeria.
My advice for you, you better start counting your losses now. You are just a "Maga" that was used for Elevation. Don't be surprised that your husband has a Nigerian family. That's what they do.

Even though I freelance most times, there's this culture of going out to work or hustle we Nigerians are born with. It's a cultural or societal thing.
