When some of us say that there are only 2 parties in the forthcoming elections, some people go begin vex. Imagine the quality of VP candidates the other parties could muster. I will overlook the women because their incompetence was shielded by the grand incompetence of Ganiyu Galadima. As far as I am concerned, Oby Ezekwesili has no business campaigning because Galadima is a testimony that her cabinet will be filled with high level mediocres. Gosh. The man is an embarrassment. No coordination, no eloquence, no points. It is either they don't have a manifesto or Galadima is either too lazy to read it, or understand what is written in it or unable to communicate it. Whichever way, the man has just reduced Oby Ezekwesili's reputation by 70%. |
........and the most powerful!
I'm glad you acknowledge that corruptuon doesn't necessarily translate to inefficiency. That a nation as corrupt as Russia could be as powerful and even prosperous as it is shows that corruption does not truncate a nations progress. It can only reduce it. Please tell that to your principal Buhari, so that he will stop shouting "corruption, corruption" up and down the whole place, as if it is an economic policy. |
But I thought the entire SW was for APC? |
Morbeta11:Aahh, Oga you are wicked o |
collybright58:How many times have you eaten local rice in the last 3 years? How many rice dealers in ijora are selling local rice? |
Sholaco:I think I will follow your advice. |
jesusjnr:I sincerely appreciate your effort in trying to get an atheist or atheists to accept that God exists. And I also like the argument that it cannot be scientifically proven that God does not exist. However I think it's a waste of time trying to convince atheists otherwise. You see the Bible calls atheists fools. While the term fool is a combination of many inadequacies, the fool is fundamentally devoid of common (ordinary) sense. Meaning that he may have uncommon sense, thereby making him knowledgeable enough to be a scientist, an excellent poet, writer, artist and all. But fundamental and common sense is lacking. Lacking not because it doesn't exist in the person but because it's been beclouded by pride, usually arising from the uncommon sense and intelligence the person poseses, an experience of the past that turns hatred for God to outright denial of his existence, or indoctrination by a parent or mentor. In either of the circumstances, arguments cannot help the person, only experience does. But sadly most die that way, especially the proud cos pride is very difficult to overcome. |

They want to lie their way into a second term. I've lost all respect I have for Osinbajo, who appeared to be the only reasonable person in this admin. But alas, we now have a man fantasising on being president, and has thrown away all dignity to the bin. Osinbajo is now competing with Lai Mohammed on who is a better liar and propaganda. I maintain that anyone supporting Buhari/Osinbajo is an enemy of Nigeria, cos the person is thinking very selfishly. This government has done nothing to deserve a second term and has done so much to deserve being booted out. Buhari to Daura, and Osinbajo to bourdilon where he can continue his house boy work for Tinubu. |

daddytime:Yes Ibori still has it. However, I don't think he tries to play God over okowa, like Akpabio was trying with Udom. |
Except I'm missing something but I don't think the issue is about deploying card readers, rather it is about ensuring that incidence forms are not used when card readers fail. So that we dont have somebody win with 5m votes from Kano but only 1m of the voters were accredited through card readers. |
shadeze:Zombies don't show up in threads of this nature. You only see them when one of their attack dog like EFCC or Police is harassing opposition members. |
Pastor Bakare was very vocal in all the administrations preceding Buharis. Somehow he has been rather silent in the face of this disastrous administration. What could have happened to him? If members of Latter Rain Assembly are here, what is Pastor saying? I dey miss him yarns well well. |
codedguy1:It is the 8th wonder of the world - unprecedented selfishness. But we shouldn't be surprised, after all someone said he will support Buharis second term even if Buhari leads from a stretcher. Just because he wants to take over after him. |
daddytime:There are no cycles brother. The truth is that the SE and SS man understands that power belongs to him when he is on that sit. So anyone planning to lord it over a governor in those geo zones is on a long thing. When you finish your term as governor, struggle to get someone who won't give you trouble, but don't expect any loyalty because you won't get it. There is no god father in SE and SS politics. By the time Akpabio is done with, he will hold a special thanksgiving service if he manages to get back his Senate seat. |
dunkem21:Truth is that Buharis only supporters are the illiterates northerners, the southwest bigots, and those who will sell their votes on election day. If the electorate was made up of literate and non tribalistic Nigerians, Buhari would be in Daura on the evening of May 29 2019 |
oyatz:While I may not agree completely with your first point, I agree completely with the second. Nevertheless the current method of radio broadcasts, demonstrations, Biafran remembrance days and election boycott will prove to be futile in the coming years. Time will make it clear to even the most staunch supporters of the agitation. On a personal note, I don't support secession. Fiscal federalism will do the magic. If fiscal federalism will not do the Magic, Biafra will also not do it. Time will reveal a lot, but election boycott is a no no. |
HIGHESTPOPORI:That has been expunged based on the president's demands. The only issue Buhari has with the amendment is time of implementation. He wants it after 2019 election while NASS wants it to be implemented immediately. |
ozo13:So are you saying Buhari will lose if card readers are enforced? |
Donelli:You will notice in my post that I said I didn't want to go further in highlighting further steps that have the potential to lead to the actualization of Biafra, but that holding the political power in the south east has limitless possibilities. Civil disobedience is very powerful. Now in an IPOB controlled south east compliance with such directives would be near absolute. With that said, I do not believe we can have Biafra until there is a major restructuring of the country, where states or regions run their affairs. If IPOB is in the leadership of the South East, they will consistently throw their support behind presidential candidates that are inclined to restructuring. Once restructuring is achieved and the states or regions are in charge of their resources and security, Biafra would be nearer. In such a situation, the struggle will be as strong as that of Catalonia if not more powerful. All this will take a reasonable amount of time though so proper planning and patience is key. The present method and call for boycott will only alienate the South east from mainstream politics without achieving anything in the struggle. But if IPOB believe otherwise, they can continue in the path they are on, and let's have this discussion again in 10 years to evaluate the level of success made. |
banom:The bolded is the issue. Having absolute boycott of elections or any other form of civil disobedience is totally impossible under the present circumstance. At least 50% of igbos living within and outside the south east will not engage in civil disobedience. Why? Because some of them do not want to secede and the others do not believe that the process will yield any result in the crude Nigerian system of today where the government does not give a damn if it's citizens live or die for as long as they keep their positions and the oil money is flowing. And if Civil disobedience is not consistently absolute it cannot achieve its purpose. Nnamdi Kanu is jumping the gun. He seems to have forgotten that the Biafra struggle started before he was born and does not necessarily need to be actualized in his lifetime. If he did, he would have realized that one needs to be more strategic in approach, take it the extent he can, and another person takes it from there. The initial steps NK took to garner support and large followership was great and should have been consolidated upon for the next ideal level which was to take over south east political leadership. And don't say votes don't count it's not true. IPOB has the capacity to win 80% of the electoral seats in igboland. You cannot be rigged out in a place where you have overwhelming support, it cannot happen. But unfortunately he went to declare election boycott which was a penalty to throwing kinda thing. If he had done that, IPOB would have had political power in 2019, and further consolidated in 2023. I don't want to go further than this regarding further steps after getting the power but know that holding the political power of the south east has limitless possibilities for the Biafran struggle. Ojukwu was able to declare Biafra simply because he was in control of the government of the eastern region. A good example of what power can do is Catalonia where most if not the entire political class are in support of the secession. See the impact they are making. Theirs is a question of time, while ours is a question of how (under the present circumstance). . Now, that opportunity has been lost and elections will hold and the boycott will not achieve anything because most igbos with pvc will vote, especially with the Peter Obi factor, and the hatred for Buhari. In a nutshell 'absolute' boycott cannot be achieved. what could have been achieved (and can still be achieved but in the next election season), is a major participation to enthrone IPOB members in the seat of power, and continue the struggle from that point. |
globemoney:Did you see him campaigning? |
K4daniel:Chairman, it's easier to vote Dan to divide o. It is until we get a series of sane minds leading Nigeria that the possibility of dividing can show forth. As of now, it's impossible except through war or a very bloody revolution. |
Mouth Gig:But the wife says he is not. Who do we believe: His Wife or You that has probably not come anywhere within One Mile radius of Buhari? |
QuotaSystem:There can never be a total boycott. At best 30% less, making it a futile exercise. |
gidgiddy:Oga, how can you use East Timor as an example? East Timor was a country that was just granted independence by their colonial masters - Portugal and then invaded by Indonesia a short while after. That's totally different from what we have. It's just like South Africa invading Nigeria a few days or weeks after October 1 1960. That on its own is unjust. In such a situation the people are one in their resolve. That's totally different from what we have in the SE as we speak. The only thing that can make us one is to have a constitutional leadership class that believes and are ready to fight for the Biafra cause. Until we have such a leadership class, this method cannot work. Nnamdi Kanu is jumping the gun. With what he has been able to galvanize at this point, he can very well create that constitutional leadership class. Just imagine a South East where the military comes to do python dance and the state governors declare a down-tool across the region until the army is withdrawn by FG eh? Don't you know how impactful it can be? Or a National Assembly filled with IPOB apologists and they are pushing for a referendum at the green and red chambers. That's what is happening in Catalonia. See the impact they are making. Yet it is still not yet done for them. But the situation is different. As of today it is the South East leadership that is inviting the pythons to come and dance and no one can do anything about it. Until we are one in this resolve, we cannot make any reasonable progress. And constitutional leadership is the only thing that can make us one. And Nnamdi Kanu can make it happen. Tell Nnamdi Kanu that. Under the present situation the best NK can get is 60% buy in. But in a cause of this nature, except with a buy-in of 95% among south easterners, Biafra cannot see the light if day. |
History will be kind to Aisha. The woman is a different breed. Now for those who are still supporting Buhari, what is your Motive? The wife of the man, has said the man is not in charge of the government. So who are you voting: Buhari or the other guys in charge? Or do you think the woman is lying? Honestly anyone voting Buhari is an enemy of Nigeria. You can vote anyone else, but you will be unkind to your children if you continue to support this man. |
Trueigbo:Agbala nkiti gini? I am a member of the CCRN, and as a bona-fide member and Minister, Mbaka has been a mentor. But the guy is going the wrong way. Stephen Uche Njoku who is the Spiritual Father of Mbaka as well as the CCRN had started saying this before he passed on, trying to warn Mbaka that his recent approach to Ministry is not what he taught. Mana Ejike Mbaka anara anu nti. I won't see someone going against clear biblical injunctions on never coarsing people to give (2 Cor. 9:7) or getting them to make a show of their giving and be silent. The Bible did not exempt bazaar for these injunctions. |
booscy:Hapu dat man. The guy a'macharo Ihe. |
