Nwaisuochi:Then you have to go to all banks were you have accounts and update your new nationality there. Honestly, I can feel your pain. But while we wait for a brighter nation, we are all still trapped in this contraption called Nigeria, and are governed by its law. |
They know their followers do not reason. So they keep feeding them lies. $40b dollars is the nations budget in 2 years and someone is saying that amount was invested in the nation by foreigners and things are the way they are. Buharis govt is a crime against Nigeria. Let's vote them out. |
Ovamboland:Some people are just too shallow to argue without attempting to insult. Nevertheless, I can't be an expert on everything. I have my area of expertise, and I would not go and make a research on the internet to get info on things I have not bothered to know in the past simply to make sense or appear knowledgable arguing with people like you.I bother about things that are important to my space in life and those I serve. A fool chooses to know everything just to look good. The person I was responding to got my gist. And that's sufficient. Believing that you are sincerely in support of the present government and not a paid apologist or a tribal bigot hoping to get power to your section of the country in 2023, its quite unfortunately that with your supposed vast knowledge and depth on issues relating to Nigeria's economy, you still lack the capacity to dicipher how bad this government has been and the extent of damage its doing to the economy to the extent that you are willing to give them another 4 years if it were up to you. My position is simple: this government is a mess. And this is the position of many within and outside the shores of Nigeria; Financial experts/economists (who earn a living working with present and historical data) and illiterates alike. So spare me your analysis, it doest change the reality on ground. |
Tonymexes:The simple condolence atiku sent, the zombies started shouting up and down the whole place. But PDP is being stupid. They should be screaming blue murder. So much is happening in Bornu state regarding boko haram, but its grossly unreported. The gate man opposite my house is from Bornu, and hr said he can't travel to his village because BH are in full control of his LG, yet BH has been technically defeated. PDP wake up |
OreMI22:The man is heartless. He doesn't give a damn about all this. He's got the power he has always wanted, and he is satisfied. He is sorrounded with liars and sycophants, and ass lickers, telling him all is well. Please all those truly interested in the Nigerian project should make it a point of duty to talk people out of voting buhari. There is still time. We can achieve so much. |
Please Nigerians, don't vote Buhari again. SW, please leave this your desire for power in 2023 and work for the overall well being of this nation. Core northerners, Atiku is your own as well. Let's join hands and get Buhari out. The man is a monumental failure. This is beyond politics, its for the good of men and women, boys and girls, babies and little children. |
Ovamboland:Oil prices have been stable for over 2 years now, what has changed? |
When buhari declared June 12 democracy day was it politics or love for Abiola? What was SW response? Ndi Amosu. |
The main reason why buhari will ruin this country is simply because he is not in charge. Every damn thing going on shows that the guy is not in charge. Idiagbon ruled Nigeria when buhari was in his 40s. How do you expect him to be in charge now that he is in his 70s? How? What's worse, he has been in and out of the hospital. How can such a man have the energy to run a nation? I run a small business and I stay up all day to get it functioning. You need both mental and physical energy to run anything. Buhari was mentally weak in his 40s but physically strong, yet idiagbon ran the government. Now in his 70s he is mentally weak and physically weak. How will he run the country? Babachir asked Nigerians: who is the presidency? That question alone from someone as powerful as the SGF is enough to tell us that the man is not in charge. Nigerians, please let's shun tribalism and undue sentiments. Let's vote this guy out. Not because atiku is wonderful but he is a better option. At least he will be in charge of his government. So that some hope can return. |
abc115:Stealing is indeed a subset of corruption. However, it is not good to lump it together in the Nigerian context. Why? So that the likes of buhari will not come and tell us he us fighting corruption. What buhari means by him fighting corruption is fighting stealing of government money, which is just a part of it. While he is the main culprit of other major areas of corruption, essentially Abuse of enrusted power for personal gain or interest. |
What you have said is half truth. Its just like the case of the hen and the egg. Who came first? Did the leadership create this monster out of the people or the people made the leaders monsters? Bear this in mind: if you see a badly behaved child, who do you immediately channel the blame to? The parents I guess? Either way, in a situation like we have, only leadership can change the narrative. It must be a top to bottom approach |
naijalander:What does historical data say? Have ndi igbo ever voted buhari? You don't get it. Ndi igbo don't like buhari and can't vote for him. Its as simple as that. We have no problems with any tribe. We voted obj a yoruba even against ojukwu. We voted Yaradua a Fulani man, no qualms. The issue is Buhari. We don't like him Afo taria mmiri ( He is a wicked man). |
This is principle. Generality of Igbo's are proudly principled on issues. Unwavering. I am proud of them. Even if Buhari cry blood, he cannot get 5% votes from the east. We know he may very much win without our votes, and hand over to the SW iv 2023, but we don't bother. It will remain history in Nigeria. Yes you may call it naivity, but its principle and self confidence. We will do well with or without the presidency. Jubril, we don't want. Take your presidency and shove it up your Sudanese ... |
contigiency:Honestly I don't think anyone is saying Obj, atiku, and Jonathan performed averagely. Truth is they were below average, but there was growth. They had the opportunity to move the nation to great heights, but they only took it a step further, while a lot of money went into private pockets. But in all this, the economy was growing and that was key. You see, one doesn't need the NBS to have an idea of how good or bad things are in the country. I joined banking in 2007 as a fresh grad. One thing I noticed was how people had come to believe that Nigeria was getting better. I am talking about 2007, yar adua s time. Nigerians abroad were coming back home to pick up jobs. My immediate boss In 2009 left wells Fargo as a Senior Vice president to come work in the bank here. He said he came back because he believed things were getting better, and they were in their numbers. Colleagues were travelling abroad to do their masters degree programs so they could return home and get better jobs and it was working. The narrative that Andrew was checking out had changed. Nigerians were coming home. Not only Nigerians, foreigners too. Honestly the world saw Nigeria as a fertile destination for business. All these couldn't have been possible if the country wasn't making progress. Things started slowing down due to falling oil prices during mid Jonathan's regime but the economic team of the time would have been able to steer the ship until we return to boom as we are now. Forget all the talk by soludo and the rest. A bank can be dead, but through financial engineering, the help of CBN and ensuring its customers think all is well, that bank can continue to operate till its able to stand on its feet again, and no one will know anything was wrong ab initio Its the same with a nations economy. The right team would have been able to steer the nation in the difficult time without catastrophic damage as we have today. The global economic meltdown of the mid 2000 did not affect Nigeria significantly. Why? the right team, the right image. Foreigners were fixing money in the system. Where is the economic team in this government? Who is in charge of the economy? What's the global perception of Nigeria today? These are the things that matter at a time like this, and its all south. Nigerians are on the move again in search of greener pastures abroad, even those with seemingly good jobs. Ask them why? They'll tell you there isn't any hope for the country. Its like we are back to the SAP days. Having said this, I don't believe any president can create the Nigeria of our dreams under the present structure. Only restructuring or reconfiguration can position Nigeria for it to reach its potential. Though atiku says he will do it, but I don't know if he will but at least he says he will. Its much better than the one who says its unnecessary. But whether he does it or not, the economy is sure to get better under an atiku admin. At least we know he will be in charge. Who is in charge of this presidency? |
chiagozien:But you don't have to abuse people to prove your point. We all must not agree on every issue. |
bantudra:. I don't know about others, but God doesn't permit me to hate, and honestly I have never hated anyone in my life. I don't hate Buhari, I don't hate APC. I will never wish APC as a political party to die, they should be strong in the Interest of our nation, so that we avoid a one party state. What I hate is a man who is totally incompetent and his gang of hypocrites ruling over a nation and making the future bleak for it's citizens while claiming he is doing much. Heaven knows that I have wished that a divine move would get Osinbajo in the helm of affairs during jubrins sick days knowing that he will do better for the country as president than the lifeless one, though making it more difficult for an Igbo man to be president. But that's the least of my problem. What I need is a performing president who will create an environment for me and other nigerians to thrive in the things we do to earn a living. Jubrin El Sudan will continue to move us backwards, and I hate that. |
contigiency:I don't have the answer because I was under my parents then. The only thing I can remember is that my father was not complaining of increase in cost of commodities the way I have been complaining to my wife since buhari took over. I can also remember that as a secondary school student in the 90s, I buy a pair of jeans from mandilas and tejuoso market at slightly over a thousand naira. That price range remained until I finished my university education in 2004. I am being 100% sincere to you. |
onez:Good question. But you won't get an answer. They are programmed to call anyone who does not agree with them a thief, looter etc. Yet their kitchen cabinet is made up of people like ganduje, the only political office holder in the history of Nigeria caught 15 times with his hands in the cookie jar. And what's worse, the anti corruption czar, Jubrin El Sudan says Ganduje is a very responsible man. Ndi Amosu. |
bantudra:What do you know? How does money get into the account in the first place? The government told us people went into plea bargains and forfeited funds. So which court needs to give permission to spend the money that has been handed over to government? Court of God. Or are they saying the money was picked from peoples homes like the ikoyi case? How much of the 400b falls into that category? Even at that, if it is in an account, the government can still make use of it and refund if a court says so. Ndi Amosu |
ManirBK:Witchcraft is when you see a clear lie and you call it truth to afflict an enemy A recovery account belongs to the country. Its different from holding funds in someone's account that us under investigation. If there is 400b which is slightly over a billion dollars, why borrow money less than that at an intrest to fund your obligations? Witches and Wizards everywhere. Ndi Amosu |
Mynd44:How come you've never said this about Buhari? |
SarkinYarki:Bubu is not running Nigeria. Some other guys are. |
overall90:Apt. Buhari is the most unaware president of events happening around him. #Unaware |
IamD18:Would you have done the same. You guys just sit beside your systems and type. If you understand the powers of a president in this part of the world, you will understand why people are praising Jonathan. In Africa, power reigns supreme, not principles. Jonathan did well by conceding, but did badly by loosing the elections vin the first place. |
contigiency:1. All the statistics being released by various organizations. They are available online. 2. Friends and relations who have become jobless over the last 3 years. 3.increase in Cost of food prices in the market over the last 3 years. I could go on and on but this should be sufficient. And let no one say Jonathan laid the foundation for the mess and oil prices went down. PDP took over from a nation wrecked by the military, and oil prices were under 30$ yet things picked up in the nation. |
michoim:Just shut up. Illiterates. No Buhari supporter can counter any argument against their principal with facts. They only start calling people thief, looter, yam eater, as if to say all of them are not thieves. Ole. |
Corrinthians:If it was free for all that means all Nigerians were able to loot including you. BUHARIDEEN. |
Of course, the Zombies. |
matrix199:Besides this, the greatest benefit of an Atiku victory is that it will become norm for a non performer to be voted out. Nothing will be as beneficial as that for this country for that will make those seekivg political office to be serious. |
ZombiePUNISHER:I have it from a reliable APC chieftain in Lagos that tinubu siphons 10billion on a monthly basis from Lagos through alpha beta. 10billion monthly.Yet, his supporters will open their shitty mouth and call another person looter. Videos of ganduje are every where yet he is very responsible according to buhari, and atiku, who has not been caught, prosecuted, or convicted for anything is a looter. Oshiomole has been accused by his own party men of selling tickets to the highest bidders in dollars but Atiku don steal all of Nigeria money. Recently NEMA where Osinbajo is chairman has been enmeshed in fraud worth billions but Peter Obi is a thief. Honestly, I don't even know what to say but God will not allow this rebranded affliction called Buhari to befall this country a second time |
If he is no threat why campaign? |
