Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has called out Nigerian bank, Access Bank, Abuja branch for negligence. For failing to adhere to the stipulated directive towards the COVID-19 spread. 

This was after the bank had its branch fully packed ignoring the social-distancing directive. Per the journalist's post, the bank tellers said they have no gloves or protective gear required to carry out their activities, but still had to do their job.,

Embattled Chief whip of the Nigerian senate, Orji Uzor Kalu who was handed a 12-year jail sentence after being found guilty of N7.1 billion fraud while he was Governor of Abia State, will remain in prison as a court of appeal in Abuja has dismissed an appeal filed against his sentence.

As you would recall, the former Governor was convicted and handed a prison sentence alongside Udeh Udeogu who served as Finance Commissioner during his administration. The Federal High Court in Lagos also ordered the liquidation of Kalu's company, Slok Nigeria Limited, and forfeiture of its assets to the federal government.

The duo who however filed an appeal against the judgement insisted that the federal high court in Lagos lacked the jurisdiction to try them because that was not where the offense was committed.

Nigerian pastor, Shephard of Faith Forensic Power Ministry has assured Nigerians that there is a divine cure for the COVID-19 that has been raging and killing humans since 2019.

He made this known in an interview with talking drum tv. He explained that it is caused by a demon called and any carrier should call for a cure.

A Chinese citizen who was working as a professor in Japan has been detained in China for alleged espionage and has confessed to spying and other unspecified wrongdoing, Beijing's foreign ministry said Thursday.

Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said the case against Yuan Keqin was backed up by “clear fact and conclusive evidence" and has been transferred to prosecutors.

“He confessed to the crime," Geng said at a daily briefing. The case is being “processed according to law" and his legal rights are being “fully protected," he said.

Yuan was a professor of East Asian political history at the Hokkaido University of Education in northern Japan. He has not been heard from by colleagues since last June after he left to attend his mother's funeral in China the previous month.

A video shared online showing a man beating up his girlfriend mercilessly has since gone viral.

In the video, the girl and her man are seen sitting looking at each other. He then stands abruptly and begins slapping her with all his might.

His friends can be heard in the background calling him "Junior" and telling him to take it easy, but he doesn't listen. He then reaches into his trousers, brings out a whip and starts flogging her with it.

In another video, his friends are seen trying to hold him back as he beats the girl, but they didn't seem to be trying hard enough. One of the friends is seen laughing as he holds the girlfriend while his friend beat her up.

The wife of Justin Trudeau, Canadian Prime Minister, has tested positive for coronavirus, the latest high-profile figure to catch the potentially deadly respiratory disease as it continues to spread globally.

Sophie Grégoire Trudeau came down with a low fever and other mild flu-like symptoms on Wednesday after a speaking engagement in the United Kingdom and was tested on Thursday.

“The test came back positive,” a Thursday statement from the prime minister’s office said. “She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild.”

The prime minister’s wife is currently in quarantine at home, and Trudeau himself will self-quarantine for two weeks as a precaution.
