Former Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has paid tribute to his daughter after she died from bone cancer aged nine.
Enrique thanked hospital staff for their care of his daughter, Xana, during her five-month illness.

In June, Enrique stepped down as coach of the Spanish national team after less than a year in charge to be with his daughter.

"You will be the star that guides our family," he said.

"We will miss you very much but we will remember you every day of our lives in the hope that in the future we will meet again."

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said it "mourns the sad loss of little Xana" and it "wants to show our condolences to family and friends, joining us all today to their pain".

Barcelona, who Enrique guided to two La Liga titles and the 2015 Champions League and also made 301 appearances for as a player, said: "Our condolences and all our sympathy for Luis Enrique and his family at this very difficult time. RIP Xana."

The Federal Government on Thursday evening took delivery of a calibration aircraft worth $8.5m that will serve in the calibration of navigational aids across Nigerian airports.
According to the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, the aircraft would help make Nigeria’s airspace safer.

Reports reaching us is that Fatoyibo has been released from the police custody in Abuja. He left police headquarters at 1 am today. Two other pastors were interrogated alongside. 

He was given administrative bail and not criminal bail as explained by Kemi Olunloyo.

NIGERIA: Police detectives are presently questioning the founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, over the rape allegations levelled against him by Busola, a photographer and wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo.
The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, said this during an interview with The PUNCH on Tuesday.

Responding to a question, Mba said, “Yes, he is in our custody.”

When asked if the pastor was being detained, the Force spokesman said it was too early to say.

He also said the investigation of Fatoyinbo was proof that the police had not swept the matter under the carpet as was being insinuated in some quarters.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and commercial banks in the country have agreed that loan defaults will be settled using deposits made in other banks.

Addressing journalists after the Bankers Committee meeting on Monday, Aishah Ahmad, CBN’s deputy governor, financial services system, said the directive is to encourage banks to increase lending.

Suspected kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu Balla, a.k.a Wadume, who has been in the middle of the raging storm between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police over the murder of three police operatives and two civilians by soldiers in Ibi town, Taraba state has finally opened up and made startling revelations.
In an exclusive interview with Saturday Vanguard, Wadume gave a blow by blow account of his encounter with both the police and his Army Captain friend in charge of the 93 Battalion, Wukari who aided his escape after his initial arrest by the police. 

Wadume who expressed shock at the manner the soldiers opened fire on the Police Toyota Hiace Bus that was conveying him to the Taraba Police Command Headquarters in Jalingo said while he also sustained bullet wounds on his right thigh after the shootings, he never asked the army captain to rescue him from the policemen who arrested him.

He also explained that as at the time he crawled out of the bullet-ridden bus, which somersaulted three times before landing into the bush, the policemen were still alive but he was surprised to see the soldiers who had pursued them to the check-point raining bullets on the policemen before he was whisked in a red-colored car, to the home of the army captain.

He added that after his leg chain and handcuffs were cut off by a welder invited by the army captain, he was greeted by a large crowd of residents of Ibi who were standing beside the corpses of the deceased policemen who were all brought to the home of the army captain. With the sum of N550,000 in his pocket after he was rescued, Wadume said he fled Ibi Town and was hiding in the house of one of his friends, Meito, at Ungwachiki town but 24 hours, later some soldiers trailed him to his friend’s house and wanted to kill him.

He therefore jumped out of the window and fled to the river bank, boarded a speed boat into Tunga area of Nassarawa State, where he spent a night before moving to the home of his maternal uncle in Kano State.

This is coming barely three weeks after a Catholic priest of Enugu Diocese, Reverend Fr. Paul Offu was killed by herdsmen along Ihe-Agbude road in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
A pregnant woman has also been killed by suspected herdsmen in Nchatancha Nike in Enugu East Council Area of the State.

The woman, whose name was not yet known as of the time of filing this report was said to have been slain while returning from the farm and her stomach opened to remove her baby.

It has finally been clarified. Big Brother Naija star Cynthia Nwadiora also known as Cee-c was not fired by Sapphire scents as ambassador. Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo who has been investigating practically the whole church has confirmed this much. 

There was rumour making the rounds that Cee-c was fired and was replaced by Regina Daniels. While the replacement is true Kemi confirmed that Cee-c was not sacked. Sapphire scents is owned by Adewale Aladejana a 'sworn' member of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA. 

Cee-c spoke against the COZA pastor when the news of the rape freshly broke and @bold_pick (On Instagram) tried convincing people that Cee_c was 'sacked' for speaking up. You would recall that Mrs Dakolo accused Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her when she was 16-years-old.

More are still coming out on the COZA rape saga. Going by Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo, the singer, Timi Dakolo, opened a twitter account @churchbroom as he could not handle the heat from his Instagram page.

The @Churchbroom when we visited says Pastor Biodun ('this dog called @biodunfatoyinbo') raped his wife sister and COZA has a money laundering means. It called on the EFCC to investigate.

Kemi also posted two accounts that she alleged that was opened by Timi where he tweets in his wife's voice.

As of this moment, the account that was opened in August 2019 has 315 followers and is following 139 accounts.

The Supreme Court has struck out an appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. A five-man panel led by Justice Dattijo Muhammad said the appeal was statute-barred.

The appeal marked SC/738/2019, had sought to quash an aspect of proceedings of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal where President Buhari’e re-election is being challenged.

The appellants prayed the Supreme Court to review the record of proceeding the Justice Mohammed Garba-led tribunal held on June 11, to determine if the presidential tribunal was right when it held that the All Progressives Congress, APC, filed a valid reply to the petition against the outcome of the February 23 presidential election.

Meanwhile, though the apex court adjourned the appeal for hearing, at the resumed proceeding on Tuesday, counsel to the appellants, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, drew attention of the court to the fact that the constitutionally prescribed period for determination of such interlocutory appeal, had elapsed.

This is an update on the COZA rape. Latest report reaching us is that the Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo whose wife, Busola accused Abuja Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo of rape has been denied VISA into the United States. 

We brought a report recently of asylum denial by the British government. Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, who has been on top of the case broke this news. She said the Dakolos are trying hard to leave the country in the middle of a rape case.

In line with the Court Order, El-Zakzaky was approved to embark on the trip with State officials and his choice to be accompanied by his aides and personal Doctors was not opposed by the government.

On 12th August 2019, he and other members of the entourage went to India via Dubai. It is to be noted that El-Zakzaky particularly chose Medanta Hospital, India. However, on reaching Dubai, El-Zakzaky began to display ulterior motives against laid down procedures.

American rapper ASAP Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, has been found guilty of assault during a Stockholm fight and given a two-year suspended sentence.

The 30-year-old has also been ordered to pay damages to the victim.

ASAP Rocky spent nearly a month in custody after the assault, which happened at the end of June, before being released ahead of the verdict.

Two members of ASAP Rocky's entourage, Bladimir Corniel and David Rispers, were found guilty of the same charge.

"The assault has not been of such a serious nature that a prison sentence must be chosen," the court said in a statement.

"The defendants are therefore sentenced to conditional sentences."

A suspended sentence means that as long as ASAP Rocky and the two other men found guilty commit no further crimes during a two-year probation period, they will avoid prison.

ASAP Rocky and his co-defendants claimed they had been acting in self-defense against two men who had been following their group.

But the court said the three were "not in a situation where they were entitled to self-defense" and wrote in its verdict that they "assaulted the victim by hitting and kicking him as he lay on the ground.
