Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in South Africa. He arrived the country and was welcomed by officials of the xenophobia stricken country. Going by his aide, Bashir Ahmed, who made the announcement on Twitter, Buhari is there on a three-day working visit.

President Buhari is honouring an invite from the Country's president and it was earlier reported that xenophobia talks will come up.

Social media platforms based in the U.S. including Facebook and WhatsApp will be forced to share users’ encrypted messages with British police under a new treaty between the two countries, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The accord, which is set to be signed by next month, will compel social media firms to share information to support investigations into individuals suspected of serious criminal offenses including terrorism and pedophilia, the person said.

Priti Patel, the U.K.’s home secretary, has previously warned that Facebook’s plan to enable users to send end-to-end encrypted messages would benefit criminals, and called on social media firms to develop “back doors” to give intelligence agencies access to their messaging platforms.

“We oppose government attempts to build backdoors because they would undermine the privacy and security of our users everywhere,” Facebook said in a statement. “Government policies like the Cloud Act allow for companies to provide available information when we receive valid legal requests and do not require companies to build back doors.”

Joseph Icon, one of two students killed by policemen attached to Governor Kayode Fayemi's wife, Bisi Fayemi, during a protest against power outage onFederal University of Oye campus in Ekiti State, will be buried today (Friday).

Icon, who was a comedian, was shot and eventually died at the Federal Medical Centre, Ido in Ekiti.

Okay, let's start from the beginning. Nigerian Pharmaceutical Doctor, Kemi Olunloyo gave out free advice on an antibiotic regimen on twitter with raised an uproar. This tweet got Doctors coming out from all over Nigeria and even Ghana to comment.
It is sad to note that a lot of these Doctors sit and do nothing about the government allowing antibiotics to be bought without a prescription over the counter and at any medical out let. In Nigeria, you can just walk into a pharmaceutical store and buy whatever you want. This is not so in saner climes, a prescription must be sighted.

It took Kemi Olunloyo, who is a Pharm D trained in the US to prescribe Metronidazole 400mg on twitter to women with fishy body odour as the odour spreads over the body. These ladies don't sell fish, they have what Kemi called 'bacterial vaginosis'. (Guys this can be unpleasant for us right? Okay let's continue).

From the word tussle, her tweet gathered it was evident that these Doctors did not know of this regimen and also did not know she could diagnose and prescribe. Dr Kemi Olunloyo's Pharm.D a clinical Pharmacy degree, allows diagnosis/prescribe in several US states. Same was cancelled at UNIBEN because the Nigerian Medical Association didn't like Pharmacists called "Dr" a typical inferiority complex syndrome hurting the Nigerian health sector.

Robert Mugabe, who led Zimbabwe with an iron fist from 1980 to 2017, has died aged 95, the country’s president announced Friday.

“It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe’s founding father and former President… Robert Mugabe,” Emmerson Mnangagwa said in a tweet.

Mugabe “was an icon of liberation, a pan-Africanist who dedicated his life to the emancipation and empowerment of his people. His contribution to the history of our nation and continent will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

The former guerrilla leader swept to power in 1980 elections after a growing insurgency and economic sanctions forced the Rhodesian government to the negotiating table.

He was finally ousted in 2017 when his previously loyal military generals turned against him as the country was mired in an economic crisis.

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday informed residents that the enabling law to permit the reintroduction of monthly sanitation is on the way.

The government’s resolve was made known by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tunji Bello, during a stakeholders’ meeting with Association of Commodity Market Women and Men, led by the Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Mrs. Folasade Tinubu-Ojo.

According to Bello, the invalidation of the exercise by a court sometimes ago is a temporary setback which will be reversed very soon.

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a special envoy to President Cyril Ramaphosa, to register his displeasure over the killing of Nigerians in South Africa.
In a statement just released by the Presidency in Abuja, it said the envoy was expected to land in Pretoria by Thursday.

The statement, which was signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, did not give the name of the envoy.

It added that Buhari was deeply concerned about the “reported attacks on Nigerian citizens and property in South Africa since August 29, 2019.”
