A fire that started from an Air Conditioner, this morning, razed a portion of OAP Yaw’s house at an estate in V.I, Lagos.

Yaw was on his way to work when he discovered that his air conditioner was on fire. .

However, before he could salvage the situation, the fire had already entered the house and destroyed some of his properties. Neighbors later trooped out with their fire extinguishers to help him put out the fire.

An aggrieved lover, Mr. Deji Adenuga aka Davar, has reportedly set a family of nine on fire at Igbodigho in Okitipupa Local Governent Area of Ondo State.

Adenuga was said to have been jilted by his girlfriend, Titi Sanumi, prompting him to set her family house ablaze in the middle of the night with nine members of the family asleep.

Five members of the family died while others were injured. The man reportedly fled after the attack on the Sanumis’ family house.

However, the police are on the trail of Adenuga.

Family sources said the girlfriend was not at home when the estranged boyfriend came to set the house ablaze. The injured family members rushed to Trauma Hospital, Ondo, where they were receiving treatment.

The Okitipupa Police Division in a signal to the state Police Command Headquarters in Akure, which confirmed the story. The information contained in the signal said a man, Alade Victor, came to the station to report the incident of arson and murder that took place in the early hours of yesterday.

According to the police report, nine persons, who were occupants of a house, including Victor’s 45-year-old brother, Alade Glory, were set ablaze in their one room apartment at Adetuwo Street in Igbodigho. The police report said five of the victims had been confirmed dead.

The police said the suspect had fled the community to avoid arrest. The report added that efforts were on to arrest Adenuga.

A man was caught on closed circuit camera while robbing a store in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The suspect was filmed burgling a pharmacy store where he allegedly made away with provisions, perfumes and some other valuables.

According to a twitter user, the issue has been reported to the police, yet nothing has been done about it, hence the online manhunt.

Some ‘photogenic’ gorillas seemed more than ready to show off their good sides as they posed for amazing selfies with anti-poaching rangers.

According to their website, Virunga is Africa’s oldest national park. It is an UNESCO World Heritage site, home to exceptional wildlife, including the last of the world’s critically endangered mountain gorillas.

A Vikings Confraternity member identified as Udochukwu Reginald, has been arrested by the Imo State police command for luring, raping and blackmailing jobseekers with their nude pictures.

According to the police, the suspect and his gang members, on Monday, April, 1, 2019, lured two 18-year-old victims under the pretence of wanting to offer them a job.

However, on getting to their hideout at Umuezuo Naze, the girls were blindfolded, raped and their nude photographs taken. They were also given some concoction to drink. .

Operatives of anti-kidnapping squad later busted their hideout, rescued the victims and arrested the suspect while other members of his gang took to their heels. .

Suspect confessed to the crime and also stated that he is a member of the dreaded Vikings Confraternity. Exhibits recovered from him include: female pants, braziers, charms, two Phones and female Hand Bags.

Operatives of the Nigerian Navy and their U.S counterparts have arrested 10 suspected pirates within the Nigerian end of the Gulf of Guinea (GoG).

The suspects, comprising three Greece, two Americans and five blacks, were arrested on Sunday evening.

Among the foreigners were Angelopolous Spyridon, 54, (Greece), Kappis Christos, 57, (Greece), Petropoulos Stylianos, 34, (Greece), Zanski Michael-Anderson, 50, (American) and another unnamed American.

Four military assault rifles (Bernelli MR-1) loaded with magazines, about 1,000 live ammunition in a box and other exhibits were recovered from their boat.

Prior to the boarding and arrest of the boat, NNS CENTENARY had communicated it, demanding to know where it was from and its destination. .

It was gathered that the 10-man crew had given unsatisfactory information to the Navy and was, therefore, compelled to stop for the special forces to board and search her.

It was gathered that their data was sent to the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), which established that none of the foreigners had visa to Nigeria, but curiously, they had a pass purportedly from the Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) that has no jurisdiction on the high seas.

“There is nothing in their passport to show entry into Nigeria. Their passport has South African, Europe, Liberia and US entry and exits. It is obvious they entered our country illegally.

From the guns they were found with and the various lies they told, it is clear these are pirates. The blacks among them did not have passport and claimed to be Nigerians.

NIS will investigate to ascertain where they are from. It is very likely they are not Nigerians as they claimed to be and even if they are, being a Nigerian isn’t a guarantee for anyone to commit maritime crime,” said a Naval

A nurse attached to a Primary Healthcare Centre at Mayne Avenue, Calabar, Cross River State, has been suspended alongside some other staff over alleged gross misconduct and negligence.

Their suspension was as a result of how they treated a pregnant lady who rushed to the facility on Friday evening. .

It was gathered that rather than attending to her, they demanded for N20,000 and later pushed her out because she couldn’t afford the fee, despite her labor pains. .

The nurse, identified as Eme Bassey, also allegedly used mop stick to beat the lady, claiming that she bit her hand.

Left with no other choice, the lady eventually went to the grass in front of the facility, where she struggled on her own to deliver the baby. .

Some aggrieved youth of the community later went into the PHC to drag the nurse out and it was then she reluctantly came out to help the woman deliver her placenta and finally let her into the facility.

When the case was reported to the Director General of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Betta Edu, she suspended all the staff involved and said they would all face tough sanctions.
