Interview was on general. Had nothing to do with state. The only that mattered for state was the test cut off mark
That's what I asked..

Before we were invited for the interview, I believe there were parameters for cutoff score based on performance in the test. My question again is if it was a base line cutoff of say, if you scored 50% (for example), you are shortlisted for interview OR was it the top 20 (for example)test scores in each state.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Department Of Petroleum Resources - 2016 Graduate Trainee &experienced Hire Job by Donelli: 2:40pm On Mar 03, 2018
Legend90:
The average of the test and interview is taken. Thats your average mark. Theyll be added and divided by 2. So for example if you got 53% in your test and 60% in your interview, your average is 56.5% and that is very low.
Do you have an idea if the invite for interview was based on a general test performance cutoff score or on state-based cutoff score..

What controversy. If you dont know something dont comment. Just because you have a voice doesnt mean you need to voice it. Im saying what i know since it's facts. The list hasnt finished being compiled yet. The plan is for it to be done this March God willing so bare patience.
Sir we have received many "facts" and "assurance" severally. That you claim yours is fact doesn't mean you can bully people into swallowing it. You should address people with some politeness. The young man was not wrong in what he stated...recent updates have been controversial.

So either you drop your own "info from reliable source" and leave it at that or you keep it to yourself. No one is under obligation to believe you and it's not compulsory you try to force people to believe you.

In due course, all things shall come to the light. Have a good day sir.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: How To Reject An Employment Offer After Initially Accepting It by Donelli: 5:03pm On Feb 27, 2018
Holoou:
Dear NLanders,
Pls help a brother. How is the best possible way to reject an employment offer after initially accepting it. I have to reject it because after I tendered my resignation in my present place of work, I was given a promotion to match the employment offer I got.
Thanks
You are in a better position to decide which you think will be in your best interest.

If it takes your resignation for your company to give you a promotion it means they don't value you that much, just using you for what you can offer (unless you're not due for promotion in the first place).

If you are comfortable and satisfied with your current company... STAY

If you need a fresh exposure... MOVE

You can never be sure what life will be like in the new company unless you are willing to risk it, but note however, that you might be walking a tight rope now because your current company now knows you have "eyes" outside. Any small kpakam you're out.

Explain to the new company in written form that you have been offered another role in your current company which fits into your career aspirations and you have decided to take it up. Thank them for their trust in your capability and state that you are open to be considered for other opportunities in the future.

You mean the unspent N500 million will take care of the new staff salaries?
Not necessarily. I just correlated what could be the "other budget" being referred to.

Recall also that some will go on retirement as earlier stated, which brought about the recruitment so it's more like swapping of emoluments.

I don't think so, but this excerpt got me worried "Asked how the N32 billion for personnel would cater for additional staff being recruited since it was the same amount proposed last year, the DPR said it would augment the shortfall from its other budget

Read More at: https://leadership.ng/2018/02/26/dpr-budgets-n32bn-1100-staff-2018/"
"Chairman of the Committee, Hon Victor Nwokolo (PDP, Delta) and his colleague, Nasir Ali Ahmed (APC, Kano), had queried the agency, noting that 50 per cent of N1 billion released in 2017 could only achieve just 56 per cent utilization.

While Hon Nasir Ali Ahmed noted that in 2017, DPR’s capital budget was N1 billion with 50 per cent of the sum released and a utilisation level of 56 per cent, Chairman Nwokolo asked why the agency would propose N1.2billion in 2018 when it couldn’t utilise the N500 million that was released to it in 2017?"

Compare the bolded. What do you think?

Dear DPR hopefuls,

All these back and forth arguments do not serve any purpose...
Whether 250/300/400, it is not really the issue here. One is only interested in when the long awaited calls/text/mail will come, while hoping one is successful in the process. Anything short of that is a waste of time, space and data. If "you" do not have that information please do the thread a favor and stop posting non value adding rumors and speculations.

Thank you.

spyder880:
Thank you Sir, I actually played the stock market heavily in 2004-2009. One of the sweetest feelings in this world, is having to open your mailbox to collect cheques sent from your companies. I was heavily invested in so many good stocks, and a few worthless companies. I sold out about 80% of my holdings when Sanusi arrived with his policies which aimed at killing investments. Used the funds realised to build houses.

My target this year is a more diversified portfolio of investments. I am looking at returning some funds to the stock market while increasing my holdings on lands. A new estate in Awka is on my mind. I also plan to start the production of something since I have free lands in many locations. Agricultural products, building material and any other type of products needed daily in Nigeria. May GOD bless us all.

Lol, all of you claiming not spoil your kids are just dreaming.
No matter how you work hard to make it in life, your kids would be born with a silver spoon, there is nothing you ca do about it. They must certainly enjoy the privileges you never had, and that is the difference.
They'd get gifts and favours from your friends, colleagues and business partners. Whether they deserve it or not.
Look at Yusuf Buhari nobody knows where he got N58m to buy bike. Tell me how people like him would get any zeal to work.
MHO though.
Well of course, those are privileges but how they use/abuse/misuse these privileges is a factor of their upbringing. Uber driver and kabukabu driver, all na hardworking drivers but the condition of service is what differs. grin

I will always tell my children, I worked so hard to be where I am today, everything you see belongs to me. I will give you the necessary support but go out there and become a champion.
Quite recently I was engaged in a debate about the above with a friend of mine who was of the opinion that one should work hard so one's children will not need to work. I quite disagree.

I would rather provide my children an environment to pursue their inherent passion and career interest without having to worry about being broke or hungry or whether a certain course will get them a good job. Even if na archeology as long as they live a fulfilled life.

It reminds one of the cycle: Hard times breed strong men, strong men bring good economy, good economy breeds weak men, weak men bring hard times...

Mr. Donelli , the answer to both is No.

Funny enough, it was just one out of eight that had a foreign degree with three of eight having referrals.

Also, during a casual conversation with them people - yeah (HR staff), we were alerted to the issue;more than 70% of OMLP intakes are with Nigerian qualification, with ~ >30% of OMLP intakes in Nigeria being Covenant University graduates.

The postulate about foreign qual. dominated intake is inaccurate.
Hmm.. huh

I applied on the same day as you and received the same acknowledgement, just like you. Received a call about a fortnight ago regarding my details; then a second call regarding an AC this week.

I don’t know if there’s a selection algorithm, but we were just eight of us, there.

A five minutes presentation about yourself, and why the program. Then an open-ended 15-40minutes interview with the panelists. Diversit of questions, from your resume to behavioral-esque experiences, to company information.
As insinuated..
Do you have a foreign degree?
Do you have a referral?

Best of luck mate cheesy
