GAZZUZZ: ₦500k Thanks Elder. But what I want to know is how customs calculate it for an individual. How do they arrive at a particular price for every car? Just like this 500k for an 05 Corolla; how did they arrive at that price? Is the price fixed for every car? |

Dailyparrot: This your mentality is the reason Nigeria is where it is today. The mindset of "I better pass my neighbor". That's why no matter how much inflation we have, people will be consoling themselves that they are still better than others since they can still afford to eat irrespective of the high prices.
I am not comparing bolt driving with anything. Can you also compare it with people who work in oil companies and earn in millions monthly?
Because it seems people only compare with the lowest lows just to feel good. What happened here is wrong. Accept that what the girl did was wrong. Stop forming political correctness. What I said up there is what I always do and it have always worked for me. There've never been a time I tried it and my ratings went further down. Most weeks i notice decline on my ratings are weeks I accepted trips, arrived and cancel before the 5mins waiting time. What I do anytime I want to build back my ratings are.. 1) let a trip I don't want to complete ring out without accepting. 2) accept and cancel immediately without clicking the arrived button. 3) accept and wait for client to cancel. 4) accept, arrive and wait for 5mins before canceling. It have never disappeared me. |

I intentionally didn’t start trip to know if truly it will calculate kilometers + paid waiting + normal minutes. Just for analysis sake and it’s a short trip
Started trip close to destination
Oya calculate
My own conclusion be say bolt calculated d km from the house not where I started For a 1.3 surge the trip no suppose pass 1.1k or 1.2k. But the paid waiting now added almost #300 to the actual price of the trip. Imagine say na V.I to Abulegba trip be this and on a 1.5surge. You come start the trip at Oko-oba. After 2hrs paid waiting.

Pearl1910: While I acknowledge anything can happen, mistakes can be made and app can misbehave, let's be guided by certain standing rules so we can override some things. And not accept the possibility of everything and anything we see within the system. Sometimes Bolt does not include surge in receipts like Uber does, so this paid waiting in some cases might just be d way Bolt expresses d surge amount on that trip (Just thinking off d cuff)
Am not defending Bolt o, shey na my papa company? As I am speaking from facts and experience, I am also always open to knew developments, but the problem with people is having enough to back their claims inother to convince and not confuse.

Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by donfortune48(m): 3:17pm On Oct 21, 2021 |
Pearl1910: 1. You are not supposed to forget to start your trip, but if u do and at the end of the trip I complain and request for ur complete fare because u forgot to start trip, bolt will investigate, probably ask Rider before they complete ur money. I still don't believe the App will do that for u midway into d trip, except u have gotten to destination and it's obvious u forgot.
2. Now this is another level o. I was of the opinion it's only the trip from where u start that will count. This one u r saying app will calculate from Lekki Phase 1 to Ajah then add Ajah to Surulere where u started trip to ur money is alien to me. And I am not sure it is correct. Ur trip will start counting when u click start trip to when u end trip it's as simple as that. Except u forget to start trip and u get to destination.
3. That person didnt go on that trip so we can't tell for sure why that happened. We don't know if there was surge or not. And if we apply my logic to that trip by deducting about 4,500 that was d paid waiting on that trip from the total fare of 10k u n I know that Chevron to Redeem, back to Magboro will be more than 6k. Make we reason am na. Shaa There're many levels to this. Bolt is capable of everything. Even you self knows that, that you trip last night is higher than the estimate to magodo and I believe it's because you swiped arrive at the pickup which is not where the rider is before you started driving to her actual location. The app might have counted that for you. My own is, stop defending bolt as if any off these is not possible with their app. And stop making people look like they don't know what they're saying when they share their experiences regarding the subject matter; just because you've never experienced it yourself. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by donfortune48(m): 1:58pm On Oct 21, 2021 |
Pearl1910: Yes, we have done all these analysis. And ur example was from a long time ago, when App wasn't so well... U and I know that could have gone anywhere. Because before u can carry someone fro Lekki to Berger and see 1500 at the end of trip.
And I am yet to see somebody doing this very example u just showed now. From Sangotedo to Berger but starting trip at Ogudu. Then let's see what App will calculate for u as distance covered. Yes, we agree paid waiting will count, but the million dollar question is "will distance covered still be calculated from Sangotedo to Berger or from Ogudu to Berger where trip started from?" If the answere is that it will start from Sangotedo where Rider inputed, it then means that like Kanuisagoat said, if rider put Lekki Phase 1 but u pick rider in Ajah, ur trip will still be calculated from Lekki Phase 1, Is this what is obtainable?. Now this is what I am arguing against. I am not just talking for the fun of it but reasonably so.
This argument makes sense from both sides, but let's look at the facts, if someone claims that paid waiting of 3k was added to his fare, if we deduct the paid waiting from the fare, what will be left of the fare? Will it be a representation of the correct fare all things being equal?? If u come with answers to these questions then we will conclude these argument.
Kanuisagoat said estimate for the trip was 1400 or 1500 and that's what the rider paid. So if he claims paid waiting increased the fare, if we deduct 400+ plus from that fare, rider would have paid fare less than estimate. So what are we saying? 1) what happened to me doesn't look like an app miss function. If it was programmed by Bolt then, why will they remove it now? When it is actually a good feature that helps driver avoid loss when they forget to start a trip. 2) what I illustrated from Sangotedo to Berger is not same as rider putting Lekki Phase 1 to surulere while she's in Ajah. Mine is that, when rider puts Lekki Phase 1 to surulere while she's in Ajah and you got to Lekki Phase 1, clicked arrived and then discovered that she is in Ajah, if you drive from Phase 1 to Ajah, pick up passenger and started the trip from Ajah to surulere, while you 1st clicked arrived in Phase1 before driving to Ajah, Bolt will calculate the total distance you covered from phase1-to-Ajah-to-Surulere into the trip. It'll also count the minutes from phase1 to Ajah as paid waiting. 3) someone already posted screenshot of a trip from Chevron Drive to Magboro that was started on Lagos Ibadan express way. I'm sure you didn't miss that. So I don't know the proof you seek again. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by donfortune48(m): 12:00pm On Oct 21, 2021 |
Pearl1910. The argument the last time is that people arrive at pickup, start driving to rider's destination leaving the trip on paid waiting without starting it. Once they're some kilometers to rider's destination or even at the destination, they will start the trip knowing that the distance covered will still be included by the app. By then the paid waiting must have accumulated quite well; especially on surge trip.
I even illustrated my experience here which is the basis of my own assertion. Which is...
Once you click the arrived button, any distance you covered from that point whether you started the trip or not must be calculated for you. Even if the final destination is not same with what rider put.
If you clicked arrived at Sangotedo, and drove till ogudu before starting the trip while the destination is Berger bust stop, the app will calculate the total distance you covered from Sangotedo to Berger bus stop.
Where the cheating comes in now is the time/trip duration. The time spent from Sangotedo to Ogudu will be calculated as paid waiting (#24/min), while the time spent from Ogudu to Berger bus stop will be calculated with normal time (#12/min)
Imagine leaving a trip of 1.9 surge on paid waiting for over an hour. That's almost #50 per min times 60mins. Which is almost #3k. Here, the paid waiting added an extra #1.5k to the original fare the trip should have ended.
Why you think that these can't be programmed into the App is what I don't understand yet. |

kanuisagoat: I know you guys had this discussion a long time ago but I'm just catching up.
The guys have a point and a ride I recently ordered for someone is now making sense.
I remember the driver only arrived but I never saw driving to destination. I called the woman I booked for and she confirmed to me she was with the driver and the journey had started.
I told her to remind him to start the trip. Whether she told him or not I'm not sure. I didn't bother to check again till the trip ended and I saw that the price was 2400 and a wait time of N636 naira.
This was a trip with an estimate of N1500 or so. It didn't make sense to me but I couldn't make any sense of it till I saw you guys arguing about it.
I have now asked bolt to review the trip and explain to me what happened.
I await their feedback. Stop bringing up dead issues. That argument helped most of us to dictate how stiff and rigid some people are in reasoning. Even when we think they're learned. Sha let the sleeping Dog lie.

I don't know the cost of a/c gas nor any other a/c component; except the filter. And I change my filter by myself almost every 3/4months and that's all. tojahh: Pearl you were right about this argument. If you start the ride at the middle of the trip, the app gives you calculated fare based on kilometer driven. This was a trip of about 1:25mins I did yesterday without starting the ride. How is he right?
