Ok I know people always like to take advantage of an opportunity.
Returning or exchanging of any goods and products after purchase always have a guaranteed period or timeframe in which when it elapses the seller will have nothing again to do with the sold product.
So, I am recommending for a set period in which a buyer is to lay complain, report or return the goods (palm oil in this case) sold to him/her.

2weeks to 1month from the time it get to the buyer should be ok. In my own opinion.

Is it advisable to combine palm oil and groundnut oil for startup? I.e to do 30kegs of palm oil and 30kegs of groundnut oil(kings cooking oil) in a shop and do both wholesales and retail sales?

Its a good combination.
Vegetable oil sells faster than palm oil but less profit. You just use it to keep busy while making profit from Palm oil.

I want to also add that palm oil business requires skills and basic understanding of how to store, preserve, etc.
All this have been addressed on this platform. I'd suggest intending buyers should go through all this before venturing. Palm oil business is not as easy and juicy as most of us imagine at inception. A lot of dedication is required.

So this issue of returning oil must be addressed so it doesn't keep coming up. A client whom I supplied oil (50) kegs since march this year called that her oil is bad now that she wants to sell them and she's returning them.
You See I only deal with First grade oil and I refer clients requesting second grade to this platform.
After much talk, I asked her to send them down but on her cost which she obliged.
When the oil arrived, we discovered nothing was absolutely wrong with the oil. It congealed with white patches due to cold and storage weather but just simple sun drying did the magic.
Well long story short, I offered to buy them up and she agreed and it's settled.

Now am bringing this up so people, clients, experts, make suggestions on what should be done about this issues on clients returning oil after several months. If she had come here to complain and claim victim, the stories would be different, people might begin to call me scammer and various names.
please I'd be grateful for inputs on how best to address this issues.

I would suggest you change the oil for your client, and you both should share the extra cost equally at 50/50 ratio, that should be fair enough for posterity and clear message to prospects

that have been taken care of and even more but I dont like showing off all of that.

Truth be told, donparosky is doing great work here and we must commend him for being selfless. Some of self no go teach or give informations freely if we were at his position. Nobody is perfect.
At least I have done business with him through his customer who linked me and I was very comfortable. His only issues is responding to calls and messages sometimes plus his drivers who are very annoying sha!!! but you can't be prefect. He is sincere and has integrity and his oil is quality. I was certain he will change the oil because he has been doing that to me if I have issue.

thats up to the client though. I think I was very angry at a point and asked that we end the business after our last transaction but I feel I should have handled it better though.
We have a lot of dealers here and she can choose who she wishes to do business with. I don't hold anything against her to be honest.
Sooner we would have outlets where people can just walk in and buy without necessarily having to pass through all of this rigorous

Oil price is on the increase and I'd advise those having oil to drag fit a Lil. In short down Akwa Ibom the rain is still heavy. You know what that means.

Now this is just me suggesting, it's your property and you can decide to sell them even now. I remember people calling me out last two years that I advised this and that but am very used to all of that by now.

I have also updated price but feel free to keep us posted from your location on how much oil is selling.

Oh well I was coming to type this here, how you managed to reel out my thoughts, beats me but that's by the way anyway.
I have 15 kegs left as I've in between trying to check some of the oil, sold off two at low prices And filled out some of my 5litres Kegs to retail(a video I sent you earlier yesterday ). Now because I don't know for how long the return and replace thing would take because I am becoming a bit paranoid now, I'll just take out 7 out of them wch are not up to what I really expected for 1st Grade and return to you. The others wch I also haven't even turned out to see what lies beneath, I'll just still risk it and keep to sell small small even at low prices. Now I'll explain that I run a side job, wch will keep me busy inside the new week means I might not be able to send it soon because I don't have who'll help me send them to the park. Now since I can't know how to reach you,is it possible you state here who I can hand over the Oil to because It's going to be extra difficult since I'm sending kegs with content unlike before when it's just empty keg.

To those Here to learn the art of palm oil business, I hope and pray you better me. Online business entails a lot of risk especially in Nigeria and if you are in business, you'd know managing workers and people isn't quite easy. Sometimes your trusted staffs would pull you down but that's a story for another day.
The whole issue have given me insight to put up physical stores for customers to go pick up oil and pay without worries.

I have never claimed to be a saint as no one is perfect. So no one should hinge on this INTEGRITY thing jare. I just ensure I do my biz the best way I can.

I created this platform as a way to bring dealers together and maybe encourage genuine hustlers.
Should I feel the aim of the thread have been defeated, I'd gladly invite the moderators to take it down.

OK like I woke up better. Good morning everyone. This issue won't have gone far if diplomacy were employed but that's not important anyways.
A few people have called me on this issue and I feel Its necessary to obey their instructions.
Udysweet kindly send your oil to us for replacement. we would share the cost of transportation. I'd pay for the transportation to send them back to you while you pay for sending them down to me.
I have spoken with my manager and would be going down soon. Heads would roll if they had actually sent bad oil to you as I don't tolerate that. She'd attest to the fact that over the years I've strived to be at my best with her though she complained her first experience with me wasn't cool but until u wear the shoes, don't be too quick to judge.

I wouldn't be happy as client if I don't get what I paid for and it's very OK to be angry. However, myself and udysweet have done business for some years and she knows how best to have addressed the issues even when I am angry. I live a very simple and quiet life and I run away from troubles and popularity. She knows what I stand for likewise people who have done business with me over the years.
I have also observed that while some are trying to amicably resolve the issue, a few wants to incite whatever........
Let me make it clear that the world is big enough for everyone to succeed and you don't need to pull another person down to do so. I have had far bigger challenges and still came out better and stronger. Do not be too quick to make judgements and conclusions.

30 bad kegs out of 200 kegs is 15% damage. That amount can't be a mistake. It was deliberate. Don't you know that if you blend the 200 kegs, the 30 bad ones will damage the whole stock? ..and if you supply it to a company and they run quality test, they will reject the oil or price you down. Don't you know that?

For this 30 weren't bad as you say. the taste wasn't acceptable by the client. Thank God the person is here to validate that.

This is very bad of you. You know I use oil well well. When a client specify the grade he or she wants, I don't think there is need for refund or replacement. Grade A is Grade A, even if it stays for one month the quality is top notch. For you to add "replacement" clause and clients to take responsibility of transport cost in your terms and conditions show that there is a deliberate intention to send bad oil to clients. When the client can't afford the cost of sending the oil back for replacement, they just accept the lesser lost and move on. Then the circle continues.


I know I also give clients excuse for delay and sometimes ignore them while i am pushing to deliver their job, but at the end of the day I don't make them feel cheated. Online business is not easy, yes we know but your relationship with your client matters.

I've been here for years and It's a normality to have one or two complains.
However this is a very minor issue that should have been amicably resolved without too many stories.
people who buy from me know we replace oil whenever a client isn't satisfied. For goodness sake, does it make sense that I'd intentionally send 30kegs of bad oil to a client. Haba how does it sound. see am already tired about this very issue and I have made my stance clear. God helping me, I won't reply to this issues again. I hope she keep tracts of all her statements here. people think they can get away just cos it's a faceless forum.

My experience and encounter with donparosky was good. I had 30 kegs bad from 200 kegs he supplied to me here and he replaced them without worries.
I hope he changes his mind. Maybe he's angry

I have tried to reach out to him months ago for a business deal but he choose to snub me all in the name of being busy. Remember he will not supply me oil free of charge o! I recall when he first started this thread, he was very humble, ready and willing to provide service to every client who indicated interest. But I guess the usual Nigerian mentality of ignoring quality and excellent customer relations once a business has been established is what we are gradually witnessing.

This past week have been very challenging for me and my team.
For those who cannot get across to me, I've been extremely busy and my sincere apologies.
I Have finally decided to put this here so people don't keep returning oil after purchase.
At point of delivery, please confirm that your oil is in good shape and quality before accepting them.
Previously we were graciously replacing oil returned by customers but we understand majority of them just cook up stories to outsmart us.
To that effect, we would no longer entertain stories after delivery. Do well to ensure you confirm what we give you as we would allow you take all the time to ascertain this. God bless our hustles
