Ilaje44: If Obasanjo did not give the SS anything as you claim, which really is untrue, atleast he gave you the deserved 13%. Goodluck would not have been capable of that feat. Besides, a lot of the IPPs that were commissioned under this regime were partly inaugurated under Obasanjo regime.
Goodluck was simply an incapable man. A very good quality of a leader is the capacity to accomodate diverging opinions which Goodluck did not possess. The man was given an opportunity, a well oiled organisation, and he blew it. If people sensibly look into the matter, even if one can not absolve Amaechi of stubborness, the biggest portion of the blame remains with Goodluck. He may have had luck, but definitely neither the sense of governance nor the capacity to lead.
I used to think it could not get worst than Shagari's Administration, but Jonathan's has beaten that record. A very incompetent and wasteful government. Good use of english, precise and constructive statement. Right on point, well delivered. |

DonMaxxy: No one is oblivious of the fact that NG is divided. Therevis ethnic, tribal, religious cum regional division almost in all sectors in NG. This was show cased once more in the March 28, presidential elections.
Whereas the SW and the Northern majority voted for their sons. The SE and SS voted for their own son.
The truth is, it is not the party or the tribal orientation of a candidate that qualifies him/her as a credible and honest administrator, but his own personality.
It is high time we voted candidates without paying attention to their tribe or religion. Let the best man be elected.
We are tired of square pegs in round holes. We have many political parties in NG. Let the best be elected. What is NG? Try and construct a constructive statement. This is a forum for debating, you should use better and concise words to make a reasonable contribution, and not abbreviating a whole country's name. |

They don't hype shoprite the way we hype it here in naija.. Its lower quality and affordable... You can buy smaller bread at a more expensive price at other confectionery stores... That's why I mentioned shoprite to be precise so as to measure the quality with Agege... Same loaf of albany sells for almost #250. |

Business › Re: Exchange Rate Of Naira To Other African Currencies by donshaddow(m): 8:35am On Mar 21, 2015 |
Curvinus: The minimum wage in Ghana is 6 Cedis a day and 186 cedis a month if the average Ghanaian were to work the full 31 days in a month.
Now, seeing that the Cedi exchanges at 54.51 to the Naira, by the time you multiply 186 by 54.51, you still have 10,138.86 Naira as the minimum wage in Ghana, excluding taxes and other deduction, while here in Nigeria, our minimum wage is N18,000 for a civil servant who works for just 22 days in a month.
So, while it will take an average Ghanaian some 53.7 months or four years and five months to earn 10,000 cedis which is the equivalent of 545,100 Naira, a Nigerian with a minimum wage of N.18,000 a month can actually earn this amount in 30 months and two weeks or two years, six months and approximately three weeks.
So chilax bro as we are far ahead of Ghana in this race to become a billonaire. You posted the most brilliant response. The value of a currency is not in the exchange rate, but the purchasing power. A loaf of bread (agege) is #70, how much is a loaf in ghana? Please people, I'm not being bias in my opinion neither am I looking down on someone else's country or economy. A loaf in SA (spar, shoprite and the likes) R5. So 5*15 should be #75... So its cheaper in Nigeria compared to South Africa. Thanks Please who knows how much it goes for in Ghana? |

Politics › Re: Security Council Gives Condition For Elections To Hold In N/East by donshaddow(m): 9:28am On Mar 18, 2015 |
Billyonaire: Elections will NOT be postponed again. There will be no transition government, but I think the military has been very successful in the fight against ISIS/Haram these past 4 weeks and 4 days. But that can not guarantee that the bombs will not go off at voting places be there boots or refugee camps. We can not afford to lose more lives in sacrifice for any politician. So election will NOT hold on March 28, but will hold on April 11. This is my thought. Thanks for your thoughtfulness... Actually, Jega said provisions have been made for the internally displaced to cast their vote in their camps. So, I expect security to be provided in those areas so as to avoid any litigation that may arise due to disenfranchisement of these people. So, whichever way, let them conduct elections in these camps and they can go back to their homes thereafter. |

candidbabe: Some great men of God have prophesied that there would not be election on 28th march 2015 and people are still in doubt if there would be elections or not, I laugh in swahilli. The bible says when there is no vision the people perish, it's high time we begin to listen and obey the voice of the prophets who are God's mouth piece on earth. Meanwhile GEJ TILL 2019. Atimes, I'd prefer to liaise with an atheist because of people like you. So you'd prefer to listen to the voice of a single man calling himself a prophet, than the voice of the people. When does the Bible become Nigeria's constitution and supports bad government and the destruction of a nation. Do you support GEJ using religious sentiment? OLADD: Nigeria's ability to whether the storm is never in doubt going by govt efforts in reducing unwarranted overhead. For instance, with over 62,000 ghost workers weeded from civil service payroll thereby saving over N400b in salary overhead and loopholes in fertilizer procurement effectively checkmated among others, the country will still be able to fulfil its financial obligations in the face of dwindling revenue. Aside this, Jonathan's administration has made commendable inroads in further diversifying the economy through massive investments in agric and agro-related revenue spinners. These and other fiscal measures will go a long way in mitigating any ensuing adverse effects of oil price fluctuations. In a nutshell, it's not all gloomy for Nigeria. Yeah, no problem. It will surely go to the 300% increase and life salary to the four (4) principal officer of the government. President, Vice, Senate President and Speaker. What a pleasant idea. Thank you PDP & APC (if they chose to support the motion). Thank you Jonathan (if he ascents the bill) Thank you Nigerians (for choosing not to fight it). |

kestolove95: Wen it was increase dey did. Dat easily but now it has been reduced..effctin it iz now a problem for dem...na na poor peopl dey suffer dem self for dix country pas rich men I'm trying to get a neutral perspective from this. As a business man, your motive is to make profit. If the policy of increasing and reducing is fair then there shouldn't be any problem. In south africa, the government only deal with price stabilisation and not wanting the masses to be ripped off. Prices of petrol is being announced every first week of the month (wednesday). So reflect international oil prices. So the marketers have ample time to prepare for gain or loss. Unlike Nigeria's case it was just over-night. |
Politics › Petrol Still Sold At 91naira From The Depot? by donshaddow(op): 10:10am On Jan 20, 2015 |
Please Nairalanders, kindly research to see if its true.
My Sister's friend who has a filling station says he still buys at 91naira from the depot on friday and the government asked them to sell at 87naira which is a great loss to them.
They ought to have reduced the depot price 2weeks prior to the reduction so as to let marketers sell their old stock.
Please anybody who has an idea should please, tell this to the world.
Thanks.
