@op, although i share ur concerns but u failed to mention proof of the said training being fake. where u trained at all? did u google the coy to find out if they are AEP / REP, d said trainer on the commencement of training did e show u any proof of being a certified trainer? where u issued study packs, did u meet any individual representative of the said coy? awaiting response so as to comment.

i was invited for the position of Academic Head in COY A Nigeria run by one Mr crook. We had our agreement (i may later place letter of employment here) and i commenced work.

let it be known that the wife mrs crook was my predecessor. Not long after i resumed work, there was need to go out on official duties which required ID card. when this was issued it was written Sr. Faculty (meaning senior faculty) #FowlPlayOne, i contested the change in position as stated on the id card and his claim was (since his wife was still around to put me through the job, let it remain, when she is done it would be changed).

Later i was giving an appointment letter which still carried the same Sr. Faculty as job title while i was performing the task of an Academic Head. same letter i asked be modified to suit our agreement and yet took eternity. #FowlPlayTwo

Let it also be known that COY A was suffering from lack of tutors and student as at the time i joined as it took about two weeks to have a single class running. their reason? the trainers left for greener pastures. #LieOne.



In my interview i was told work period would be from 8am to 5:30pm, later he argued it was 8am to 8pm,which caused me to decide to leave in the first week of the job (he later called and claim members of board wanted to see me, technically he called his child hood friend to beg me). the childhood friend spoke wisely enough and asked that i should try and give my best as the place was failing. #myMistakeOne

to make this short, we often had different views on mgt issues one i would like to mention here is a totally surprising one. we had a meeting where monthly income and expenditure was presented,we were spending more than we earned (even with salaries not being paid and most expenses amounting to his personal spending). i suggested we cut cost of those expenses so as to at least maintain equilibrium! his perspective - we should spend more so that more can come in (i laugh at such wisdom).

the incident that killed it all, several of us where asked to come to office on Saturday to do cleaning work, i objected to it in a meeting stating my inability to make it on Saturday and also that since we have a cleaner, why not av him do it, he flared up in the meeting and dispersed everyone.



did i mention he is a dictator? when we have meetings he doesn't seek opinion, if he ever ask for any, he adds "if it is negative comment (any other view from his), don't talk at all" or "this is not a discussion!".



with the unfair working condition and after being owed consecutively for two months i decided to resign with a one month notice as stated in my letter. (did i mention that it is a norm for him to owe his staffs, many have left unpaid).



his center has ruined the hope of many young promising youth who have had faith in the much valued COY A career programs, students careers killed cause of his inablity to manage the trainers and pay them. once i knew of a student who claimed she was taught CCNA a 2months course by four different tutors!

finally, i have resigned and asked him for my money and which he has refused to pay, he claimed that having told me a month ago to run partime (i.e. come only to take classes, he decided to pay me by the hour. this we never discussed or agreed upon).


however i intend to get my money by any means possible within one week. i nid help from anyone who's been through such or any organization that helps one retrieve their earning from cheating bosses.

1. did u have a bf b4 d coming guy?
2. did u develop an affair with the comming guy while still with old guy

4. i have a feeling old guy proposed / every one knows you with him (and you cant hide that when coming guy moves in with u)

@all, experience has proven that when a lady starts complaining, she isnt into d guy again otherwise op would have gone to buy some nice undies, scents, flowers, planned dinner, welcome party e.t.c and even have sleepless nyt over his coming.


in conclusion, you cant eat your cake and have it, u r probably a still growing and not experienced, a lot of teenagers are often myopic with their thoughts, cant settle wit a man on time,cos another comes quickly to do something different and exciting (wait till u r jilted over and over, you will be glad a man is coming for u after six months)

i doubt it! i have taught in one of those schools mentioned (would not mention name to save their face) with a lab of no working computers,when there we had to bring up just 6computers, forget NIIT/APTECH for practical, practical is practice u do for urself, get jobs, do some for free, do some for change, the challenges u meet are real life and u get to practice that way.

Like already stated, ur best bet is being a trainer, have been certified and training both oracle and MSSQLS for some years now, even when u get a job as an administrator, there is hardly a database to administer cus majority of the multinational coy that use oracle have scheduled jobs to manage administration and u end up as figure head and making money doin nothin. bro, brush up ur programming,networking and others, become independent, work for urself, cos even the training centers would bleep u up with very bad pay compared to u doing stuff for urself.

@oxristo, thought i was alone in the line of thought, more than 20views and no comment, guess they were university graduates (joking).

last i checked the NNPC was an Nigerian 'indigenous' coy, one run and sustained by tax payers money and yet has denied graduates of Nigeria owned polytechnics offer / ability to work for same. recently i heard of the recruitment exercise and decided to apply as an experienced hire only to observe the form was customized with no option for 'HND'. not that i felt bad about being an HND graduate even though i av my MSc. but the thought of neglect and denial that has met graduates of polytechnic. As someone who once worked 'industrial attachment' with NNPC, it isn't news that HND guys were highly discriminated.

i do not intend to write epistle, my point is "if the govt would not give job to graduates of its own schools then the schools should be scrapped, let there be no polytechnics again"! haba!

left mine cos she went to "pray" where she was told i would leave her, well d prayer worked, we had to part, but cant remember leaving her....it appuned but we still get to eat our cake when d chance arrives.

why not try installing vmaware with linux red hat 5, i am guessing u dont plan to run the oracle server in a production environment, so get oracle 10 / 11g and install in the Linux VM, even with your 2G, u would run ok with patience. like some1 said, the main DB version of oracle focused for multiuser environment. google is your friend for the install procedure n really, oracle runs smooth on Linux. good luck
