Have you ever been to the farm before? What high cost of labour are you talking about? The farmer who plants is the one who harvest?

When the farmers goes to sell his produce to the wholesaler in the market, it is unionized and prices are fixed. When the wholesaler ties what he bought for transportation, the greedy union charges him, when he try to store it, they also charges him.

Transportation isn't expensive for the wholesaler but the greedy local and state government tax collector in every local government area his lorries passes want their share, the police also wants theirs.

When he gets to his destination, the wholesaler is also a member of a union, after calculating his own cost by adding transportation cost, local and state government tax, union tax, he set his prices, the union seeing that they might not be competitive, decides to influence his own price and fix price for him.

Were these unions existing before 2015? So why is it that their activities today which have not changed from 2015 are now leading to skyrocketing food prices today? Answer that question and you have the solutions to your problem. That is if you do tell yourself the truth..

How does that work?

Because the middle man will not depend only on his commodities to live. You understand it? He will buy other stuffs that he needs which maybe imported with the high forex. Tv, shoes, jeans, T shirts, cooking utensils, cars, chairs, .. he will pay for rising electric power and higher cooking gas and transport stuff through bad roads at higher costs. His landlord might also be an importer! The realization that the basics he needs to function effectively and take good care of his family are not going to come cheap helps to force him mark up the selling prices of his goods just to make ends meet! Simple economics. But simple things are too hard to grasp for you bunch of Buhari headless chickens..

These artists could have been a very good source of foreign exchange for the stewpid country but their obnoxious tastes robs the country of that. If the state didn't put up the infastructure over the years, there will not be any platform for them to excell and showcase their crafts globally. Government should invest in building up capacities in the entertainment industry, help them export their crafts and tax them accordingly. Insist they follow some certain regulations that will force them employ more people too. That creates job. Rather than leave them burn millions on weed. It's the way it's done elsewhere..
