I wonder where the tennis sage Octopus is? Her oy Nalbandian just lost today and boy did he lose.

His game was a calamity to say the least. Just couldn't get his shots going for more than a point at a time.

How about Tsonga eh. Two top ten scalps for the unseeded chap
And he looks a real prospect. Anytime a player can call on a quick first serve to get himself out of trouble
then you knwo you have a hot thing. The boy is powerful, with big shots especially that forehand.
And he seems to have matured. This meeting against Gasquet was in stark contrast to their last grand slam
meeting at Wimbledon where Tsonga frankly looked immature and wild. He seems to have worked on controlling
his shots and that helped him claim the scalp of the no 8 seed.

I know how sexually unsatisfied women must feel now. . .after watching the Vaidisova/S.Williams match.
It was over before you could say jiffy. angry

It must be really distressing for Mauresmo to lose to a clearly inferior player.

Her opponent was clearly overmatched, but it seems Mauresmo's mental battles let her down once again.
Politics › Re: Tribunal Annuls Enugu Governor's Election by doyin13(m): 11:34pm On Jan 18, 2008
But what kind of constitutional framework is it that allows for officers to be sworn in
amidst allegations of improprieties.

Why were the results and challenges and all disputes associated with the election not addressed before the public officers were sworn in? huh
Politics › Re: A Last! Ojukwu, Ex-biafran Soldiers Get Pension 41 Years After by doyin13(m): 2:05pm On Jan 18, 2008
I hate to rain on your parade of nostalgique, but the fact is the war was disastrous for Igbos
and Ojukwu was at the centre of it.

On whether only Igbos should be the only one to determine effort in the war, well nominally I would agree with you.
But the military is a federal institution and the funds being distributed are from the national purse.

I think non Igbo opinions do count in that regard.

I know of many ex Biafan soldiers living in penury in Lagos without the Public exposure of a Ojukwu who could
do with some help as well.

Politics › Re: A Last! Ojukwu, Ex-biafran Soldiers Get Pension 41 Years After by doyin13(m): 1:20pm On Jan 18, 2008
I dont know why you guys are dismissive of maxsiollun's opinion considering he does make a good point.

Many ordinary Biafrans who put more at risk have not been so honored to collect a pension or some form of financial recompense.
Why isn't anyone taking up their case?
Politics › Re: Fashola And His Ideas by doyin13(m): 1:14pm On Jan 18, 2008
Tragic situations like traffic condition in Lagos demand radical solutions.

But the state government has not been able to properly administer conventional solutions,
fat chance it will be able to manage the radical ones.

Just an headline grabbing measure in my opinion. undecided

baghdatis takes it.

It breaks my heart to see Safin go down like this. Nadal might be the current threat to Federer
but Safin had the game to make the competition more interesting, and i believe he could if he
put his mind to it.

Flashes of brilliance but his temperament seems to be getting worse especially when he is behind.

Dis Guy:
wickedness?
90% of those molue will fail an MOT test, 99% of them don't have insurance
some vehicles with no MOT and insurance are crushed on the spot in the UK- 4000 cars crushed
its funny how there a post titled -will nigeria ever get better yet you dismiss solutions to some of our problem

get ready for congestion charges too road levies

ask ken Livingstone wink
will over 12+million people living in an unplanned island what do you expect
@Dis Guy

I am not against getting these molue's off the roads in the long run but they do provide a service despite their adverse contributions

Poor Lagosians suffer enough already and the inevitable price rises that would occur with this move is ''wicked''.

In London, where the wealthier residents can afford alternatives, the congestion charge policy for example was coupled with substantial
investment in public transport. I guess the government cares.
Politics › Re: Goodbye To Molue! by doyin13(m): 2:53am On Jan 17, 2008
Frankly it smacks of wickedness. . .

Lots of money has been donated to the Lagos State government to solve its transportation problems yet with not much results.

It will clean up Lagos no doubt in the long run but jeez how hard can it be to get a public system going.

Politics › Re: No Nuclear Station In Igboland as Yoruba Rejects Four Proposed Nuclear Stations by doyin13(m): 2:08am On Jan 17, 2008
Fasheun needn't have made it a tribal issue, as the safety issues are reasons enough
for concern.

If the nuclear plants are sited in the West because it uses the most power then it makes a mockery
of Fasheun's argument. Otherwise it is reasonable that most be sited in the North where I would imagine
the arid land would provide enough space for the disposal of the waste.

Considering the parlous state of the energy sector. he had better get a move on. . .or is it just an admission they lack ideas on how to fix the problem

Shouldn't need be the fundamental driving force for expenditure?

Yeah I admit I was laughing at first because I was suprised at what I was seeing, but it seemed genuine which is not what one would expect from TO. I think he was just really disappointed they lost. Athletes cry when they suffer a really bad loss. Didn't you see Kobe all red-eyed crying when their 3peat was over couple years ago at the hands of SA?

But maybe TO's a changed man. The way he kept mentioning and thanking God in every other sentence. Looks like he went to deeper life with Randy Moss, abi? grin
He took it up a notch o. Such a transformation has Mountain of Fire written all over it. grin
