PoliticsRe: MEND Attacks Lagos by doyin13(m): 1:41pm On Jul 13, 2009
I am largely in support of MEND and their activities.

But the real fun would begin when ''they'' finally get control of the resources.

How they share the oil bounty would be a classic study in conflict management/regulation/resolution

PoliticsRe: Pti In Kaduna ‘ll Triger North-south Crisis, Say Gbagi, Okpozo by doyin13(m): 11:13pm On Jul 05, 2009
@topic

It is quite preposterous.

As preposterous as training naval officers in the middle of the sahel.

@Negro Ntns

I don't buy this argument about the Igbos being disunited
or will find it difficult to be united when push comes to shove.

The way they rallied behind Ojukwu during the Biafran war
strongly disproves the notion Igbos can't be united due to
their fragmented hierachical antecedents.
LiteratureRe: Which Genre Of Literature Is Fast Going Into Extinction? by doyin13(m): 7:46pm On Jul 05, 2009
If by drama, you mean the theatre, then I beg to differ.

There are still some big names involved in theatre, most notably
Kevin Spacey at the Old Vic.

Shows sell out on a regular basis and not just at the mainstream theatres
in the West End either. Take for example, Iya Ile by Femi Elufowoju at the Soho Theatre
and Wole Soyinka's Death and the King's Horseman at the National Theatre on the Southbank.

Poetry was never huge anyways , so I guess it has maintained an even keel all through, although
it did enjoy some notorious publicity over the Oxford Poetry post recently.

PoliticsRe: Appeal Court Nullifies Senator Kila's Election by doyin13(m): 7:55pm On Jun 30, 2009
an odder looking fellow than this Mr. Killa you will not find. A beard that would not look out of place on those sordid looking seamen of Moby Dick, eyes that would twin perfectly with Clifford Orji. . .

and that laugh of his, oh god, that laugh. . . . .the laugh of the underhand robber, the agbada collar criminal.

Good riddance to PDP rubbish.

LiteratureRe: Role Play: Reloaded by doyin13(m): 3:59pm On Jun 23, 2009
@Bluespice

Your sory reminds me of the harrowing video of this Florida woman who shot her son
in a shooting range. Her act was so deliberate, so assured, easy and still. . . .

And the stillness and solemnity of your short story has a poignancy to it.

For such relatively few words, you were able to convey a lot, he sanity of insanity to insane people especially.
If that makes any sense.

I liked.

State of Play ke. . . .

I have avoided watching it. All these political thrillers that fail to
muster enough excitement.

There are some good but cheesy ones like ''the contender'' or Robert Redford in the candidate.

Its the ones that tend to take themselves too seriously that have me so underwhelmed like this 'State of Play''
PoliticsRe: N250million: Peter Obi's In-law Ejike Onwusogbulu Flees To The United Kingdom by doyin13(m): 2:56pm On Jun 22, 2009
texazzpete:
As far as i know this story of moving N250 million has NEVER been carried by any of the major newspapers in Nigeria. And we all can see the concerted efforts being put in place by the PDP to kick him out, including demanding for a state of emergency over kidnapping.

In a democratic setting, there's also basic human rights. The assault on Obi by these people without tendering any proof can be construed as defamation of character. By all means, if there's proof let them out it. i'm all for nailing the corrupt leeches in our society. But when ukpakareports releases a 1000 word article without any more concrete proof than hearsay, we have to laugh them off
It has been much talked about on one major TV station, AIT, though.

Would that give the story some credibility?
PoliticsRe: Is Yar'adua Fit For Second Term? by doyin13(m): 8:10pm On Jun 21, 2009
chidichris:
to me, answers to the above questions remains, obj! obj!! obj!!!.

if we want to be factual here, we must be talking about the man who owns nigeria, who says who goes where, when and how. the man whose interests surpass that of over 140 million nigerians.

let us be talking about him because if his purposes for which he brought yar adua are intact, then we should be looking at dates arround 2014.

if it is obvious that we did not contribute we did not contribute towards his coming, why bothering about what he is doing? the man that paid the piper has been busy dictating the tones.
So Obj has usurped Babangida's position shocked shocked

I wonder why they would possess any kind of clout as the article seems to suggest.

I don't know what you lot expect from Yaradua, when notable members of his ''cabinet'' are implicated in wrongdoing.

If he should start sacking willynilly, surely that would spell doom for his own government.

kalu uche is the weak link in the team. . .

His role is to link the midfield and attack but he seems
to lack any awareness for those around and him and the game.

In fact, there just seems to be a lack of understanding between uche, mikel and olofin
in the centre.
