Jobs/Vacancies / Re: A Hand Written Or Typed Application Letter For Job by Dparagon(m): 6:08pm On Dec 03, 2017 |
You guys have opined well. With so many articles and publications online on application writing, I think there is no set rule however on which form of application is ideal when applying for jobs. This is because, we have different companies, firms, organisations etc with their hiring policies. When applying for jobs online for instance, a company could request for a typed application letter for a purpose while another won't state if it should be hand written or typed letter. In such a situation, I guess you should know which to use. More so, when submitting hard copies of applications in offices, handwritten application is usually preferred, applicants have also received positive feedback after applying using a typed application letter. Needless to say, I have gone for interviews after writing and submitting handwritten applications. There are several reasons why some organizations, HR Managers demand for handwritten applications. With all these in mind, handwritten application isn't archaic! Today, we still have companies including ngo's requesting for 'handwritten applications' when applying for a jobs. Surprised? Don't be! I think the most important thing is to know which is/was specified or required in the job requirement section. For unsolicited applications (or when submitting hard copies in envelopes), a typed or handwritten application letter could be used. In summary, whichever application type you are using, I feel it's important to highlight the skills and experience that would make you a better candidate for the position. GOD remains the Ultimate in everything!!! 2 Likes 1 Share |

There are still many people out there who the nature of their job is affecting their health, but the fear of the unknown and some unanswered questions becomes a different thing altogether. They say 'Health is wealth' Get well soon and hope you get a better job. 1 Like |

ammyluv2002: Good morning Ammluv2002. The "one page personal profile" of a thing from what I understand is another way of saying an applicant should include a 'cover letter' which is usually one page. The "one page profile" which basically highlights a person's qualification, experience and skills related to the job, SHOULD be on the first page of your document after which your CV/Resume proper will start/begins from the second page. In other words, if initially your CV or resume was 2 pages, after including your 'one page personal profile or cover letter', you will now have a 3 page document. Saving the file as an application in MS Word or PDF, you now have what they refer to as a' Single Word Document' Different hiring managers, recruiters or recruitment agencies with their application procedure. This is what I can deduce from it. Please anybody with better explanation can respond to this. 6 Likes |
