Australia is a paper weight not worth mentioning. undecided

When Russia invaded Ukraine what did US do?

When Russia intervened in Syria to destabilise US plans what did US do?

When Russia invaded Georgia and the Russian Black Sea Fleet blockaded the Georgian coast, what did the US do?? Except issue mundane rhetorics. Their usual talk talk on CNN and no action.

See, the Americans have grown soft, they are not ready to stomach a direct military confrontation with an enemy who has the capacity to strike back.

They have been behaving like bullies all this while, attacking and invading countries without the capacity to strike back.

The sole reason we have North Korea today is because of China. It was the Chinese army that assisted North Korea to drive back the US and South Korean forces that has already defeated the North Korean forces and almost pushed them into China.

China mobilised more than a million troops within the twinkle of an eye, to the surprise of US and South Korea and started pushing them back, reclaiming lost territories back to North Korea until the present 38th parallel was achieved and all parties dug into their present positions till this day!

As it happened during the Korean war, China will definitely enter the battle on the side of North Korea as failing to do that will mean the collapse of North Korea and Americans at their very border.

Countries only react when their strategic interests are threatened. China does not want US at her border, same with Russia that was why Russia reacted swiftly to Ukraine when US started getting over ambitious with them. China will do same here.

North Korea has the capacity to militarily strike strike back at US, it's bases in the region, and also it's allies in that region, that is why the US is back to its usual mouth mouth talk. They won't attack North Korea.

South Korea also does not have the mind to do the dirty job for the Americans. They have grown fat and successful and not ready to have Seoul which is very close to North Korea to be in ruins. North Korea has thousands of standby artillery directed at Seoul (South Korea), ready to start firing at any instant.

US has also not attacked Iran till date because it knows Iran also have some capabilities to strike US bases and allies in the middle East. And create serious oil crises.

Nuclear weapons are more of strategic weapons and not tactical. Although I know some nuclear weapons are designed as tactical and dubbed same, but nuclear power on the face value is mainly a strategic power. Why did the US not use them against China during the Korean war at a time China itself was not yet a nuclear power??

US is just making noise. North Korea as a nuclear power has come to stay, and all their talk is not going to change that. They are just talking for talking sake.
They are talking about fully blown out war by the US in Iraq and Afghanistan that destabilized the whole countries and toppled their Russia allied government, you are talking of about just propaganda political disturbance caused by Russia in Georgia and Ukraine. It was not even a war in full sense of it.

US is the largest Chinas trade partner. The largest china export goes to the US. You think China is ready to risk losing that? If you are conversant with the news, china has said that it will maintain neutrality in case North Korea provokes an attack by firing missile at Guam a US territory near North Korea. Korea has been issuing rehetorics about attacking Guam. Trump is now saying let's wait and see if North Korea will live up to its words before US will unleash its military arsenals.

US is not threatening to attack North Korea until Korea threatened to fire missiles to US coastal region of Guam.

You will be surprised Russia and China will maintain neutrality in the case of US war with North Korea. No one wants to risk the event of of nuclear war with the other. The best they can do is to arm North Korea. That's all.

TravelRe: You want to COME TO AMERICA - Do You REALLY Know America? by drakeli:
ayodele234:
Guy go and sleep. It is out there for all to see. This is 2017 and not 1966 when we were all brainwashed. In 2017 when America issue visas to bricklayers, palm wine tappers, truck pushers, the illusion days are over. It is a shame you are still living in the dark. 95% of Nigerians living in America have never seen $20,000(not counting those involved in shady dealings) cash in their life and that includes college graduates. You think you are engaging a toddler? In America where people can't even boast of a mere $500 and I am actually talking about first class citizens. 7 out of 10 Americans can't boast of $1,000 in an emergency and 62% are one paycheck away from living on the street. Go to New York and Chicago and see original suffer head. The most most Nigerians can achieve is building a duplex back in Nigeria that will take them over 15yrs to complete something that even a iron welder and POP man in Nigeria can accomplish as well. Wake up from your american illusion. The American dream only make sense when you are dreaming so keep dreaming since waking up is not part of the dream.
You are not a toddler. But I bet you don't know how American system works. People can't boast of $500? That's overly exaggerated statement. As well for you to even have made that statement about first class citizen (quoting from your st) displayed your bias about people in America to a shocking degree.

About 7 out of 10 Americans can't boast of $1000 in time of emergency. On that note, you need to have understanding of American culture. American culture is materialistic in nature. Hence living paycheck to paycheck which mean spend and spend because another check is in two weeks.. Whenever my friend's American wife gets her paycheck, the first thing she usually does is to call her other girl friends about how they can visit the latest restaurant in town. Americans are foodies. Having to save up money is not part of overall culture of an average American. Out of the pigment of your imagination, living paycheck to paycheck denote poverty. Right? Then you are wrong, absolutely in American context.

Living paycheck to paycheck in American context denote enjoying our life to the fullest going on foreign vacations, going to resorts, visiting latest restaurants in town, going to do shoppings over and over until the paycheck is exhausted knowing fully when the next paycheck is right "knocking on the door ". My friend, I live in the US and that's what "living paycheck to paycheck means in American context. People don't save here ( of course we immigrants do save).

Saving up money I say is not part of American culture. The culture is materialistic in nature thereby having to spend all your paycheck shopping while waiting for the next. Mind you, wages are paid in America every two weeks. So it's easy to live paycheck to paycheck. Living paycheck to paycheck in America doesn't mean you are poor.

In Nigeria we save for unforeseen circumstances because we don't have insurance culture. Americans spend all their paycheck and refuse to save because they do pay insurance over everything. Insurance covers damage to their cars, homes, hospital bills, name it. College loans for aspiring students. These are the reasons why we save up money in Nigeria. Americans don't need that kind of saving my friend. They do enjoy all their paychecks on good things of life.

If I should asked you, why do you save? You might answer me, I save because of my children school fees, I save to be able to cover medical bills for the family, for me to have money to fix my care, for me to have money for a new home in case natural disasters blows away my house. Please nobody does that kind of saving here. That's why Americans do insurance. Their paycheck cannot be deducted for insurance purposes while they still go ahead to save again.

You post is full of shocking over exaggeration.

The same way my pastor told me in 1997 that I would travel out of the country and his wife again around 2003 told me she saw me on a plane putting on suit jacket. After 2012, I was on my way from Dubai in suit jacket on a plane lol and today I live in the US. Don't underestimate the power of prophecy. It may take years, but definitely it will come to pass if God destined it.

Young man go post your childish comment to the brainwashed. You think you are talking to a toddler? How many Americans can boast of a merely $3,000 in savings. Paying in cash is a luxury that over 85% of the population can't and will never be able to afford. America runs on a credit based system that leaves little or nothing left from your paycheck. Even people earning $150,000 still have to co-sign on the student loan form for their college bound kids because they really can't afford it. What percentage of Nigerians living in America will get to earn $150,000 during their lifetime?
Contractual payment I tell you again is payment made easy. Anyone I say anyone can do that. And that's how virtually everyone got their car. Did they complain to you that it's a problem to pay? How much is $3000. Common $3000. I laugh. For we Nigerians here, Americans are not the standard of our own living. I'm here to tell you that nigerians here are not doing bad. Research has it that Nigerian s in the US are the most successful minority immigrants in the country. Google can help you out. Who cares about Americans. Why will you compare some lazy Americans that love more pleasure and spending money more on frivolities and that all they know how to do is to work today and spend all their earnings on vacations tomorrow to the hard working financially prudent Nigerians? Why will you compare Americans that like shopping, shopping and shopping like their lives depend on it. Shopping beyond just what they need, wasting resources to financially wise naija people? Why will those Americans not live from check to check? Between Americans and Nigerians, we have different orientation about handling finances. Nigerians are better financial managers compared to an average Americans. Do get that right. I personally know a Nigerian that has over 600,000 dollars in his account. Don't ask me how I know. Besides, he has a business of his own. The day I knew I couldn't believe it. Continue to live by what you read and hear far away from the reality on ground.

In fact, I walk out of this tread. Smh. Too much ignorance.

Driving a new car you won't own till 5 years time and might even default on your payment and lose it altogether. I see no difference with someone paying cash for a 5yrs used Tokunbo car in Nigeria. Most of dis privileges are debt driven and debt will never be equal to success. People lose their houses everyday you can check zillow.com for foreclosed homes. The middle class in America is shrinking everyday with more people barely able to afford the basics, struggling to afford the necessities. Even rich Americans are ditching their U.S. passports in record numbers, a sign of growing frustration with a system that taxes U.S. citizens. Funny enough Americans complain more about their roads and infrastructure decay than Nigerians. Anyone interested in knowing the financial status of Americans should talk to a bonafide American citizen not some immigrants. These things we see as El dorado are just normal to them
Your argument here is so week. Getting a new car doesn't mean you can't afford to pay for it cash and carry. If you have the cash, you can pick any car. That's why only the rich use the best thing in Nigeria because there is no system of contract payment spread over three years ( not five years). And its so easy to do. That's payment made easy. So anyone can use brand new car without breaking the bank. This is what you don't have in Nigeria. And the few people that can afford it use it to oppresse those that can't.

The rich Americans that are renouncing their citizenship are doing that to evade double taxation because they have business outside of America. While they pay taxes in the other countries where the business es are located, they still have to pay taxes over such oversea business as American citizens. So to evade double taxation, they have to drop American citizenship. Does dropping their citizenship stops them from living or being who they are in the US? No.

Americans complain about roads? I pray Nigeria has the kind of "bad" roads in America. If we do, our naija roads will no more be death traps.

Bros if you put in thesame effort to work here in naija, you'll equally live the same standard of life without living on mortgages and debts all through your life.
Work? Where is the work in Nigeria. I didn't know any politician. I wasn't connected with any commissioner or minister because that's what it takes to get your way through in Nigeria. Na who know who. So many graduates riding okada. Where is the work na? You talking to me sef, it's either you are unemployed or underemployed. Even for the so employed people in Nigeria, how many of them are able to eat what they want? They only eat what they see. Take home pay in naija doesn't take any one home. Here in the states, even cleaners eat what they want because food is the cheapest thing in America. They ride good cars. Because buying a car here is like buy a pair of shoes, meaning that everyone can afford to buy a car regardless of what they earn. I'm not coming to join naija unemployment queues. If I have to come to naija, I'm not coming to look for job. Rather I'm coming to set up my own business. But mind you, that's the last thing in my mind. No enabling environment for business to strive in Nigeria. Companies are relocating to Ghana. Ghanaa!? Ghana of all places. Do you know how many older naija people I have met here in the states? They have spent many years in the US only for them to relocate back home to naija. After spending like ten years in naija, recession has chased them back to the US. Naija was better when they left the US for naija to stay. Now naija is worse. They have run back to the states. People in naija never see work do finish, you dey ask diasporans to come join them. Naija will not get better until you are truthful to yourself that Nigeria has problems and stop defending mediocrity in the name of patriotism.

Most minimum wage in the US pay $12 to $15 per hour. Remember you have to work at least 40 hours per week excluding overtime that pays more like $16 to $18 per overtime hour over normal time. So US cannot be #18, 000 naira per day.

Recently i have been under lots of pressure from friends and family asking me to try and get a visa to leave the country, but i have declined

i understand that things are not well organised in this country but travelling out to me is like putting yourself in an uncertain situation , you don't even know what to expect when you get there

The most annoying for me is the fear of being denied a visa again after trying some years back

I will prefer to rather put my money into a small business here in Nigeria no matter how small and try to grow from there

At least i know some people that have travelled out of the country for years and when ever they come back home they still cant afford a house of their own, they stay with relatives that has never even been to Ghana before

What is your opinion on these nairalanders
If you are talking in terms of traveling to any of these Asian countries, Dubai inclusive, I support your opinion. But if you think traveling to US, Canada is not worth it, then you have to think again. The only problem you have is fear. Fear is an enemy of progress. You have already put yourself in an uncertain situation thinking Nigeria will get better. I pray it will. But it has been getting worse since before we were born. Why would you allow the failure or unfavorable situations of others be a factor in deciding whether you will make it or not. Why not use the success stories of others as a motivational factor in your decision to travel? I traveled out of Nigeria. Not just because of me alone, but because of my children unborn yet. And I'm glad today that I did.

OmaniPadmeHum:
The irony of the Biafra Agitation.

You want Biafra. They chase you out of Nigeria. Instead of siezing the opportunity to go back home enmass, you say you are not going anywhere. I expect great jubilation and joyous celebrations. I expect mass movement. I expect the Ghana Must Go scene which I witnessed. Truck loads of Ghanaians, moving out. With Jute bags which became nicknamed "Ghana-Must-Go" bag.

If you want Biafra all you need do is go back to the East enmass. Refuse to trade with Nigeria. Refuse to have anything to do with Nigeria. When you are going back, no policeman or soldier will say "why are you travelling"? Freedom of movement to your states of origin is a fundamental Human Right. In my opinion. No one is holding you back but yourselves.

It doesn't even matter if a few of your elders are in the service of Nigeria as appointees etc. Ignore them. Build your Biafra, when it is as rossy as you claim it will be, they will have no choice but to go back to their dear Biafra.

So for all intents and purposes, this is the opportunity you have been praying for. Leave the North. Go back home. Build your utopia. Boycott everything Nigerian.
Biafra is being given to you on a platter of gold. Your leaders are saying they are not going anywhere and daring the North to attack them. Be united in purpose and be ready to go through the "pain" and "surgery" of achieving a good and perfect Biafra. This pain will involve leaving your businesses, property, etc. But it is for a good cause. Child bearing comes with some pain. The birthing of Biafra will not come without sacrifices.

Nnamdi Kanu says Nigeria will beg Biafra to go. The North has told you to go. So take the opputunity to do so. If Nigeria does not let you leave you will blame all your troubles on Nigeria. It is for this reason alone, that I support Biafra. Everyone needs the opportunity to take the chance and go the distance. So sieze the chance. You have been given till October. The distance between the major parts of the North and the East is generally less than 24 hours by road. I should expect a great jubilation when the North asked you to vacate without a gun shot. I expect a great exodus. Your leaders should come together and choose a course of action.

If you understand strategy you should take this golden opportunity. Pharaoh as asked the Jews to leave Egypt. What are the Jews still waiting for? They now refuse to go to the promised land. There is no red sea in this story. The promised land is known and available. No need for scouts and no need to traverse the deserts. Again I am expecting a great exodus. A huge one. When citizens of another country are not wanted anymore they are expelled. You are Biafrans and Nigeria has expelled you. So go back to your Biafra and gladly do so.

If this opportunity is not taken, then the Biafra matter is just that of a people trying to constitute a nuisance, disunited in purpose and annoyingly empty in character. Biafra has come, take it and stop the indecision. Stop worrying about what you will loose. These are necessary. South Sudan lost a lot after the referendum including the rights to pump it's oil through pipelines that go through Sudan to the export terminals. They had to negotiate the fees/cost of pumping South Sudan's Oil.The South Sudanese did not bother about their property in Khartoum. Theirs was even worse. They were never told to go, the way the North has peacefully ordered Biafrans to do. This is a once in a life time opputunity. Take it.

Do not start wondering what will happen to your investments. To your market of about 150 million Nigerians. Your perhaps about 40-60 million Biafrans are available (we do not know your true population figures). Trade with them and find new international trade partners. Do not start bothering about what will become of Lekki, or Festac, or Ikeja, or Ikorodu, or Abuja or other areas you "developed". In my opinion, only a foolish man develops another man's land and leaves his own and then he even boasts about this to the world about this great mistake and miscalculation. It is when you have developed yours to your satisfaction that you then extend your good developmental gestures to other "less fortunate people".

Unite in purpose. Buhari is not even in the country. Osinbanjo is more reasonable. Take the chance. Move ensmass. Exodus out of all parts of Nigeria. Move back home. Organize yourselves. Ignore everything in Nigeria. This opportunity will never come again. You are putting your hope in ICJ and UN etc. Time and time again, these organizations have stood by and watched endless maacascre of innocent civilians. Syria, South Sudan etc. Even the Nigeria/Biafra Civil War.

You claim you have all the businesses. You can cripple Nigeria. Nigeria is a zoo. Your footballers are the best. Your women are the best. You are the most industrous. You are the most brilliant. You are the most hard working. You are the most advanced. Your exodus alone should then help you win this agitation. So, cripple Nigeria by leaving. Destroy Nigeria by removing all your services. Obliterate Nigeria by withdrawing your elite. Stall Nigeria's evolution of her human gene pool by taking back your pretty light complexioned igbo girls. In fact go back home and lock your shops again. This time, lock them for good. It has come to you easier than you imagined. The next time you are coming to Nigeria, do so with the ECOWAS Passport or a Biafran passport. Pay the Nigerian Visa Fees and go through the process. Refuse to enter Nigeria with a Visa. Yes, if Nigerians say come in, you say "no,that will be illegal since I am an allien. Could you please grant me papers"? If they refuse you go back to Biafra.

The struggle has moved from opening fake propaganda online and lying about how Asari supplies weapons and how Donald Trump warned Buhari. It is this same lies and fake propaganda that contributed to the loss of the Civil War. People hardly knew the facts from fiction and leaders couldn't make rational and calculated decisions. The struggle is now beyond propaganda my dear Biafrans. It has come and stares you in the face. It is real now and no more mere rantings on the internet and other forms/means of mass media and mass communication. Take it the opportunity. It has materialized. I mean see the news in the Zoo city of Lagos. Animals are even treated better than Zoo Animals, Nigerians.

BIAFRA HAS COME. TAKE IT!
