dtribunal: I had admission into FUTO. I rejected it and did an A Level programme in Uniport, then gained 200 level admission into Mechanical engineering. I still rejected it and went private. And most private universities release their admission lists before public universities. By the time the public universities are admitting students, their counterparts in private universities would have even matriculated or started exams. So what are you saying? Most of you don't even know what you're saying. You believe everything people tell you......BY DRAZEY
Plz which uniport A level programme gives u admission directly into 200 level...I schooled there never heard of such...did it start 2017...baba tell me because I still have a younger brother looking for such opportunity.
Education is different from schooling...curriculums are devised to guide and also restrict us...it doesn't matter where u get schooled... But it does matter how u get educated because education is driven by our own effort, our zeal and determination to learn.
All the shege our lecturers show us for public university ehhh....anyways it helped us forge our own path...
I've seen some really smart private university graduates.. But I still rep my public school!!!...private university dudes won't understand!!...lol Dude, get the moniker correctly next time. It's the Jupeb programme at Ashgrove Academy in Uniport. It started last year (2016). Jupeb is also done in some other universities |

For una mind all private universities are equal ? At the end the day you still run to my public university to run Masters Those talking about dilapidated buildings you have myopic minds how about you visit these public institutions and see for yourselves
You think we don't know about the sorting bribery and sexual gratifications for grades that go on in private universities These same private universities house drug addicts as students Even a popular private university in the west weed and every other hard drugs are being abused Keep deceiving yourselves I rep University of Port Harcourt ! If you feel you worth your salt as a Private uni graduate bring it on . Lol. You're just describing public universities. I would've accepted your challenge, but you're from Uniport. I did my Alevel there. It's one of the public schools I respect. Not all public schools are the same. Uniport no follow at all. If it was a UST student that said this, then I would accept the challenge. |

oduastates: Read again . The money in the ECA was $22 billion .o FG share was 55% State and LGA - 45% That money was drawn down within 6 months of Jonathan becoming president. 6 months !!!!!!! What was it spent on ? Even The most corrupt states can show a few things with their share The FG's share was approximately 2.6 trillion at that time. You are complaining about 2.6 trillion in 6 months. How much do you think the Nigerian budget is? Or is it that you don't even understand how small that amount is to a country. You must be one of those people who hear "2 billion dollars" and immediately assume it can fund Nigeria for the next 100 years. Get a calculator and look into the economy of your country. |

7lives: They don't know that graduates of private unis are getting good jobs because of their parents status in the country. Imagine a graduate of CU, AU, BELLS or PAN AM hustling for jobs. A friend told me about how two girls who lives in her compound got jobs and eight months later, the bought their own cars. I was like what kind of jobs could that be?, more over which university did they graduated from?. She said CU, she said all their friends who are also students of CU are now employed. Even the woman said if she could raise enough money, her girls too will school at CU. My daughter is currently at Bells and I'm happy about it, I cannot allow my child to past through what I passed through, especially the accommodation situation and the ASUU palaver. You are partially correct. But your parents position in society won't always help you. And not everyone who attends a private university has 'rich' parents. Some go there on scholarships, some can afford it, but just barely. The thing is, you also get to meet people and get connected to sources that could help you in the future. And the higher quality of education can also help you start up something on your own. |

It's better one goes to a federal poly sef, than attend any of those advanced secondary schools called private universities . So who is stopping you? Leave our advanced secondary schools for us. TheUbermensch: Lol. Load of horsecrap.
It's not a matter of money. It's a matter of values. Lol. Visit federal schools round the country and meet rich people. That is the only thing y'all private schools know. Money. So you believe it's because you have money that's the reason you attend a private uni? Or you and your guardians don't understand the worth or importance of qualitative education.
How about getting a degree that would have some worth. Some value. Finishing school and be able to speak to people with all sense of pride.
You finish from a private uni and come out with all shades of inferiority complex. Wow. You're so damn narrow minded. Qualitative education is the reason why I chose my university. You think it's all about money. No one spends money unnecessarily. That's why people like you who throw shades at private universities are still the ones asking them to bring down their fees. A degree with some worth, eh! It's no longer about the mind. It's about the degree. That's why you'll go to a school for 5years, gain no practical experience, read hand-outs upon hand-outs, sort your way all through the university, just to get a degree. That's where the worth of your degree lies. And yet, you think a graduate from a private university with a good result will be intimidated by any of you? So narrow minded. If you think life will care about your degree, then you have another thing coming. |

Subtle excuses for Nigeria's non-development in 57 years.

Gerrard59: You asked for a country that moved from third world status to first world and got independence during the same period as Nigeria. I gave you the answer and you're shifting the goal post in the middle of the game. Dear Lord. Ok let me do this. "Third World Country" is not a status. It's simply groups of countries which aligned with either Britain and the U.S.(First World), The Soviet Union (Second World) or remained neutral (Third World) after the Cold War. The etymology lies based around that. That is why I asked you to check the meaning repeatedly. Sha, let's go with your premeditated definition. The truth is that "third world" countries have been exploited by the "first world" in one way or the other. That's a characteristic that most of them bear. For example, India (which may also be classified as second world) sending large amounts of food to Britain, even while they were facing a famine. Or slavery in Nigeria by the British and the Portuguese. Singapore never faced such exploitation. So it was never really "third world". Besides, this is just a simple occurrence in life. Those who are rich, stay rich by exploiting the poor. That's exactly how the relationship between First and Third world countries are. Till today, we still get majority of our imports from those countries. Proper development does occur like that. And all this is taken aside from the fact that we have our own corruption and tribalism to deal with. |

Singapore. Perfect example. Lol. I can't even laugh because I know it's not your fault. Like I said, check the meaning of "third world country". |

adetayo234: That scenario I painted is a sign of a country on the move towards greatness. Can you ever try such shiiit in Nigeria? You may believe what I say or not, but when your populace is a small as that of Ghana, and with fewer tribes filled with idiots trying to claim superiority, you might find that such a country is easier to handle. There are tribes in Nigeria that you haven't even heard of. We are just too diverse. The entire system of government is a problem, and as long as it remains the way it is, you shouldn't expect much from Nigeria. |

With heavy heart and tears in my eyes i borrow the words of our ipods brothers, Nigeria is a zoo. I know you think you have a point but try checking the meaning of "Third world country" before you start running your mouth. Also check the meaning of "first world" and "second world". Once you know the meaning, you can then proceed to name the countries who got independence with us and somehow switched from "third world" to another category |

Disneylady: Is it that you are angry people love Messi as much as you love Ronaldo or that you don't respect people's opinion or you did not understand my write up? Your love for Ronaldo has blinded you that you don't see any good thing about Messi. We Messi fan ain't fanatics like you coz we see Ronaldo as a good player but sure one will be better which is Messi. You said I was pulling down Ronaldo and insulting him, how, when and where? I will never do that while praising Messi coz its very glaring the better one here ...do you want us to start pointing out games that your Ronaldo couldn't make a shot on target? So what later happened to Juve this season? Why were they hauled by Barca 3-0 now.....abeg try and be diplomatic in your doings, it will help u Gan....not just being a fanatic I like Messi almost as much as I like Ronaldo. I'm always happy when I watch him play, even if it's against Madrid. I even preferred him to Ronaldo before. Also, you Messi fanatics are known very well to be the ones who claim Ronaldo is not a good player. In you guys defense of Messi, you tend to say things like 'Ronaldo is gay, his son prefers Messi, Ronaldo is not even the best in Real Madrid'. Or haven't you seen your fellow Messi fans say things like this. When they can't comfortably defend Messi, they try insulting Ronaldo instead. It was a general feature of most Messi fans. It wasn't directed to you in particular. That's why I said "most of you". Barca defeated Juventus this season. That doesn't change the fact that Messi couldn't score against them last season. The point here is that Ronaldo deserved his Ballon D'or because he was better than Messi last season. Accept it. |

maxwell530: the only theme of your argument and support for Ronaldo all over this thread was "goals". How many goals did zidane scored when he won it? How many goals did kaka score when he won it? Before Ronaldo can say he's the greatest and completed player, let him outscore Pele first since goals scored is the main criteria for being the greatest ever according to you...... Lol. Don't just rush to comment. I replied a comment which stated that "anything Ronaldo is doing now, Messi has done before" and I simply listed things Ronaldo has done which Messi hasn't. Now, please tell me, based on Ronaldo's position on the field, shouldn't scoring of goals be his main aim? Isn't that what all you critics rave about when he doesn't score in just one game. So how come you're now complaining when goals are used to determine how good a forward is. Now you're bringing the Ballon D'or into the argument. And you're asking Ronaldo to out score someone who played in an entirely different league and in an entirely different era, with goals not completely verifiable. I said it before, Cristiano and Messi are the two greatest to ever play football. Leave the other people out of the comparison. They didn't play in the same era. Cristiano and Messi play in the same era and league and are the only ones who should be compared. |

Olumeme: Dude is not even the best player ever in Real Madrid not to talk of football...
Though he's very good, a hustler, a goal machine but Messi is far Ahead of Ronaldo, it takes more than goals to be GOAT, attitude on and off the pitch is also key, Messi is a better team player and even more talented than Ronaldo, you will never see him boosting all around the place, anything Ronaldo is doing bow, Messi has done it before....! If you want to defend Messi, do it without lying. Messi has not scored in every minute of a game. Messi does not have up to 100 champions league goals till now. Messi has not scored in every match of a champions league group stage. |
