Ur passport has less than 6months validity on it so anytime from now till June 2019 u can go and renew it.

I think you should renew your passport with your husbands name and get the other necessary docs to back it up handy....i.e Marriage Certificate, Affidavit for change of name and newspaper publication for change of name.

Depends on the stage you are with the MCC verification process, (if you haven't gotten ECA yet) you can send them a mail with scanned copies of your new passport (notarized) and the accompanying documents. They (MCC) will effect the name change.
(I know someone who did this and it worked for her)

With that you are good to go.

Good morning all. I could really use some help/advise if anyone as some suggestions. I am at the verge of submitting my application with just one issue and I would really like to close this out today and finally get this off my plate after one elapsed ITA and week away from the deadline for this one.

My financial documents are larger than the 4MB limit and I have tried the different online compressors and none seem to do the trick. At this point, I'm now looking at maybe downsizing the number of documents I have in the file.

My POF is a Mutual Fund I opened about 3 weeks ago. I included the letter/statement from the bank for the mutual fund, my 6 months bank statements (both current and savings) as well as that of my spouse to show the source of funds and a reference letter from my bank. Is there anything I can remove from here? Do you have any other suggestions on how to shrink the file?

download ‘ilovepdf’ app You have it on Android and IOS stores.
Use the ‘compression function’ to compress ur file. I once compressed 12mb to 2mb with it.

Or u rescan ur docs, reduce each file then combine them again. Either way “ilovepdf” app would solve ur problem.

I don't know of any rule about doing it or not doing it.....It depends....i think both will work....so I guess it's a matter of choice.

I can only advice u based on other people's application that I am aware of.....some have gotten PPR, some are already in Canada....while others are awaiting PPR...

D few people I know who got funds from their parents/brothers did a gift deed.

As for me, my spouse had a notarized gift deed done for the funds that were transferred to me (my friends said I shouldn't have) but it was 3k...and I had nothing to lose....

I also know alot of people (couples that didn't use gift deed) just a simple letter from one spouse saying he gave the money to his wife or vice versa to use for POF for the EE process.

I hope this helps....

Have you tried chatting MCC up from your physiciansapply account? Or sending them a detailed mail? They are always ready to help and sort out issues.

Also what stage are you? Have them approved the certified docs u sent to them?
Or they have issued u Ur ECA report?

So here goes-

My international passport carries a compound surname while all my other documents have just my maiden name. I have a newspaper publication of my change of name which was done while I was still married. I am currently divorced and have a child whom I have custody of. I kept my passport with the compound surname because of my child then. Now I am thinking of changing back to my maiden name before taking the IELTS and starting the entire process for my child and myself. I have supporting documents for the dissolution of the marriage and custody of my child. Also, my passport expires in July 2019. I need advice on what to do. If I change my surname, would it affect anything concerning my child?

Please advice. Help a sister.

Well, I called a friend who has a similar situation after I read your post this morning and this is what she said she did.....

1.Legal Docs to back her second change of name..
2. She got a new passport (carrying her maiden name)
3. Wrote Ielts with her new passport.

4. She got ITA.
5. Attached a simple LOE for herself and her child...for herself, she attached Evidence of the marriage, dissolution of the marriage, legal docs for change of name back to her maiden name.
For her child, she attached Old marriage certificate, dissolution papers, child custody papers and birth certificate for the child.
6. She is post MEP/Biometrics awaiting PPR.


She also added that when she travelled earlier this year, her lawyer told her to take copies of court documents to show that she doesn’t need her ex husbands ‘approval’ for her kid to travel.
(She never got to show them)

He further told her that if she didnt have all the required documents, she would need a
signed affidavit from other parent for permission for the child to travel, a certified copy of his passport and birth certificate.



No ADR so far......(hopefully non would come) Amen.

Every situation is different I guess, but seems u have all the necessary docs u would need to present.

I think changing your name back to you maiden name is the way to go....I may be wrong though.....

I just want to start this whole PPR thingy. I tried applying to Canada in 2016 for Msc but was denied visa after paying school fees. I was demoralised and abandoned the whole Canadian dream. I would like to restart the process since I have lots of work experience. I would appreciate if any guru in the house can be my guide personally. I just wanna pay for IELTS in January and write. I need tips on the exam, degree conversion, application etc. How much do i need to spend on all these processes?

I know this is a long journey to the promised land. 2018 was full of excuses for me for not starting this process.
