You must understand my pain and frustration with the system. I have lived and worked here all my life, and still facing these demons daily. Nothing is more vexing than being delayed on the road daily for searches and document checks, even by cops who clearly can't read. You have to settle to get the most basic of approvals, you have to know someone who knows someone before being considered for anything. Should I talk about government contract awarding process? Horrible. I chose to stay away from any government contract before they will compromise my values.

But if you think there's any part of our economy which has not suffered from corruption, tell us. I am even afraid to invest in the stock market any more. Its just a pity.

The world reading this is a great help, maybe pressure from outside can force the hands of our governments to wake up and do things right, lots of square pegs in round holes, lots of incompetence, lots of avoidable mistakes, lots of same mistakes repeated over and over again to the extent that you start thinking its deliberate. We cannot continue like this.

And for some of you who have seen better, some of you who have experienced a semblance of good governance in foreign countries, how do you manage to lower all your standards, stoop lower to accommodate this sleaze? How do you feel when you see policemen posted to checkpoints for the sole purpose of fleecing motorists and beating anyone who objects into submission? How do you feel paying hefty bribes to free your relatives from cell for the offence of walking around in their own neighbourhoods? How do you feel when patients die just because there is no equipment in hospitals to save them after billions has been budgeted and embezzled, or because the driver of the ambulance drove away to do kabu kabu with the only vehicle for ER and so the patient died on top of a motorcycle after a spinal injury.

In all, nobody will be punished, nobody has been jailed yet for budget padding, nobody will ever be jailed for including thousands of ghost workers into most payrolls. And the whole cycle will repeat itself again tomorrow. How can I keep quiet?

The biggest scammers in the world history, has always been Russia. The first step in solving trust issue in Nigeria,
is for the country to have a comprehensive and uncompromising database the way is done is developed country.
With that you know who is who. There are several foreigners freely obtaining Nigerian international passport and claiming to be Nigerians. Such can't happen in developed countries. And the leaders are not helping issues, no mentorship centres, no leadership centres to groom the you ones. Ideas are not encouraged rather colossal immoral attitudes pays. I was discussing with a Pakistani importer based in the middle East for a business transactions 2 years ago, after we concluded every details of the transaction before the items will be shipped to lagos, he backed out at the last minute, he said and I quote, my lawyer in Islamabad said you want to do business with a Nigerian, you will be scammed and your fingers will be burnt, I tried to explain to him that you carry dual nationality even though you are originally born in Nigeria, he said whether dual nationality or not, Nigerians are scammers... End of quote, that put a nail on the textile transactions we were supposed to do together

The media and foreign embassies are also not helping the matter, they provide consular advices to their citizens on the dangers and pitfalls in doing business in Nigeria, CNN, BBC and ALJAZEERA have ran several documentaries on the dangers of engaging in business in Nigeria, this has further put a dent on the already battered image of the country, type doing business in / with Nigerians and see what my friend called Google will give you

Classic example of how out of touch appointees are. You have the Mbanefo lady as commissioner of tourism talking about caves instead of working with what's on ground. You have loads of cultural events people key into like Onitsha Ofala festival, iwa ji of many towns and imo awka yet no support from govt.

For imo awka the govt should work with awka villages to create a presentable festival with tents sponsored by corporates, branded food kiosks, put up a website describing the festival, profile participating masquerades, musicians, and dance groups and provide,security and places to park. Have the governor visit to declare it open. Market it on social media by having people vote for the best masquerade, dancers, car decorations and award prizes. A well organized festival will draw not just people in Awka but loads of visitors.

And that will give boost in development in the new Awka in Isiagu

He could have signed a deal to cede the state facility for 100 years to those crooks.

I am glad the light up Anambra simply installed working street lights on the side and moved on. These roads and other buildings will forever remind us how much Anambra was robbed and handed to mere thieves for decades. I am happy those are now in the past. Obiano should extend that road into an Awka ring road to open up new areas of Awka for development.

This project will cost billions of dollars if done with quality materials.

alot is still needed to be done in onitsha. i just wish obiano would consider putting up iconic projects like this in millennium city and other strategic places in onitsha. this would serve dual purposes of easing up traffic and as well as beautifying the landscape of our cities.

Even if someone come up with idea of generating electricity through sold and swelling to consumers, federal government will file several law suit against the person for trying to spoil market for the men in monopoly.

When i see those elevated tanks, i'm gladdened that Nigerians finally found a way out of the perennial water scarcity issue by providing their own water than wait for government cursed water works.

If rooftop Solar panels would allow Nigerians to enjoy power at home without noisy generators and stress of fueling and servicing them, half of the problems of living in Nigeria will indeed be solved. Imagine cooking soup once a month and it will be fresh every time because your freezer is always frozen.

Solar power is rapidly gaining acceptance in many homes in the city of Enugu. Many more houses has solar panels hanging on its roof.

If solar was cheap in Nigeria, we would have solved half of Nigeria's problem.

so i have been doing interview just for the fun of it.

Yesterday, i got called for an interview.

This white 27yrs old lady interviewed me and i could sense the Nervousness in her voice (she is the hiring manager lol)

Clearing them will not stop them from going back. The state has too many overgrown markets that are interfering with the street. Eke Awka, Afor Igwe, New Parts all have all buildings next to the expressway. Meanwhile they offer no parking or sanitation or waste disposal areas. Contrast with Obosi electrical market which is well inside a walled off area with lots of parking and entry exit gates. No traffic near the road for Informal traders to take advantage of.

This is what ANSG should be doing with all markets. Ensure there is a setback of 20 feet from any major road with parking and wall them off. If this requires removing buildings then they should do that. Many markets need to be downsized entirely but does ANSG have the guts like LASG or Enugu or Imo? I doubt it.

He knows why he prefers Nigerian tenants, because most whites are like professional tenant who knows how to use the law to their advantage.

Even here in Chicago, Nigerians do it well... They buy houses and look for people to occupy it(Nigerians too). A house might be 5 rooms 2.5 bathroom(including basement) and lease it out 400$ per month to Nigerians(Maximum of 2 people in a room)

My interview experience

My interview was scheduled to be 10:45am. I woke up 6am. Say a few prayer. My wife was still sleeping. She finally woke up by 7am and used about an hour to do make up. Lol. I was impatient with her because we have to drive about 2hrs to USCIS office, well i allowed her to do her things.
After she wasted time doing her make up/over, she said i was driving too slow. I got angry and asked her to drive. We were about 20 minutes late, wife was going 80/90. Thank God no cops on the road.
We got to the USCIS looking for where to park, its always a busy downtown area, we eventually found a spot to park. I drop few coins for an hour.
We checked in at the USCIS office and sat down waiting to be called in, during this waiting period, my wife was taking my pictures lol, like we were in a studio. We play alot with some petty fight too.

The interview officer called my name and i followed him with my wife. We were interviewed together.
He asked to see our driving licence ?
he asked our we met?
he asked for my name?
date of birth?
my social security number?
Do you live together?
How many people are living with you?
He asked me to mention her siblings names,
when was the last time you entered U.S.?
Do you have children?
He asked me all yes/no questions in i485 form,
he asked for our pictures i gave him our album,
do you have social media accounts? we both said yes.
He asked to see our pictures, my wife showed him instagram pictures and i pulled up facebook pictures for him. He was pleased. I told him to see other documents that we have but he refused and said its ok. He returned all our documents.
He said i should be approved and expect my card in 2-3 weeks.

After about 15 minutes I tracked it online and it shows case was approved. We will maill approval notice to you. I thank God for the whole process. I am looking forward to achieve my American dream. Waiting patiently to receive my card. Wify was very happy and i took her to a nearby african restaurant to celebrate.

In my area at New American street not too far from Main Market, we pay 300k for 3bedroom flat with steady water, light, tight security and a private transformer.. Hardly can you see 1 or 2 bedroom flats in Onitsha unless in public yard.. The only thing you need to do is to rent a 3bedroom flat and share with your friends.. You can see 250k or 240k, depends on the area.. GRA is no go area, unless you gat the money..

You write like an activist. There are many reason that can't work in Nigeria. The counties justice system is very poor to the core, everyone is corrupt including lawyers and judges.

Let me take us back a bit, to what started this discussion so that we dont lose the context of the arguement (because there are some litigations that are just a waste of time and money, while there are others that are deemed a "jackpot" for the applicant):

- There was an 'offer' by Dangote to sell Cement at a given price and there was an 'acceptance' by the contractor to buy at that price.
- The contract was 'sealed' when the contractor paid for the goods (consideration). He is just awaiting delivery.
- According to the contractor, there was NO CLAUSE in the contract (T & C), to renegotiate or vary the price, after payment.
- The seller (Dangote) just 'uinilaterally' increased the price and refused to "perform the sealed contract" by not supplying the goods.
- Contractor contacted his Lawyer who, against all ethics of theprofession, said he should just swallow it, he cannot win!

That is the scenario and l offered that the Contractor has a good case and his Lawyer should even be happy to sue on his behalf, without collecting a kobo in advance (Prono Bono), while waiting to win the case and get a good cash-out.

Now, anyone with even the most basic knowledge of Contract law, Consumer Law on goods and services, knows that "all things being equal", this is a slam-dunk case that shouldnot even cost you a penny.

"Getting Justice" is 'expensive', anywhere in the world! Not just in Nigeria. Infact, go and ask our friend the America man, how much it costs to go through a divorce and he will tell you how expensive litigation is, from his experience, in America and the West in general.
Nigeria also has 'free legal services' for the less priviledged but you have to engage them at your own risk (bribery things)

The more money you have, the more the probability that you can get a good lawyer or a team of lawyers who can spring you from any criminal offense or any charge for that matter.

Having said that, we need to realise, need to understand that "there is always a price to pay, for the good things of life, including a fair and just society! Nothing good, comes free!
All these runaway 'I live in Atlanta, l am a US citizen' people should also realize that what they are enjoying in those foreign countries (where they are times, even treated as a non-entity) was bult on the 'price' paid in "blood and money", by some other 'poor' people like them.
Some 'ordinary persons' sued Walmart, sued Wickes, sued many other companies, for them to be able to respect and adhere to contracts that have been signed.
If those people were lamenting and giving excuses about why they cannot pursue their rights, if they are selfish and self-centred to think only about themselves and their business or what they will eat, those Western countries would not have been the "great, blissful, countries that you all run to".

This is why Nigeria is the way it is: Everyone is not ready to lift a finger, for the benefit of others, they are not ready to make any sacrifice (not for others) even for themselves, so that their future and that of their children can be better and comparable to that of the children of Americans, British, french, Swiss, e.t.c!

Again, not all court cases need money to start.
If you have a Lawyer who is worth his wig, some cases are taken without down-payment and the Lawyer uses such cases to 'publicise and polish his brand name'.
The money he gets when he wins the case, is where he gets paid from......... but that is for a smart Lawyer who can see that this case is as good as won and he knows what to do to win it, as opposed to just one charge-and-bail, law school failure.
This case is an example because it is just slam-dunk.

No matter how rich Dangote is, he cannot change what is already written down in the contract, even if he tries to influence the court, most judges will advice him to seek an out of court settlement when the case is this so obvious - that is money you just made!

Even the exposed runt that usually brandish America in every discussion and pulls out internet pictures like his friend, and claims his father owns any and everything under discussion is here shaking like a wet hen, when the issue of litigation was mentioned, yet he will be the first to be sounding like 'no one can cheat me and go free'!
